Nissan is the most successful racing japanese manufacture, Toyota is good also but not the best that title goes to Nissan. If you don't believe lets talk about the Super-GT Nissan has around 13 championships with 8 being GT500 class whereas Toyota has 10 and 5 being GT500 the rest GT300.

Supra looked like it was manual as it clearly missed a gear and the Z had a constant pull without dipping once indicating it was an auto. Too many things can go wrong when launching a manual car. The Z should have raced the supra from a roll could very well have been a different out come.

dude the supra was probably not even tuned up all the way unlike the 300zx which is rigged for the supra let the supra tune up all the way and the 300zx tune up all the way then tell me who wins

The 300zx wins. A VG motor can handle more torque and power than a 2JZ. People only think supra's are so great because of the fast and the furious. A 1991 300zx built by JUN and Blitz (in 1991) to this day holds the E/BMS land speed record of 261mph (420km/h). To put this in perspective, the top speed of the Bugatti Veyron is 253.5mph (408km/h). No supra has even come close to this. If your curious: E/BMS is: 3.01 to 4.26 L engines Blown Modified Sport. Same category as a modified supra.

@ryanskrastich.............mak­es u wonder why more tuners are using the motor then?!!! You can't use one example to make a summation like that. The closest thing to the 2JZ in engineering from Japan over the last two decades is the RB26DETT (yes it's a Nissan.....feel better). Of course motors like the VR38DETT and the 1LR-GUE are nothing short of a marvel as well.

@StylesJM Wrong idiot.. Tuners use the rb26 and 2jz because of how easy they make power.. There cast iron inline blocks can handle lots of boost on the stock internals. (very cheap to make power) I would take a built vg30 or 7g63 over a 2jz or rb26 anyday.. they make much much more torque! Sorry im actually a huge rb26 fan so i take that last statement back.. im trying to make a point. But a fully built vg would decimate the rb26 and 2jz.. but its expensive!
