  • So nervous - from the start you sounded like u got only 10s left on the clock :)

When I play the top-rated guys, I feel the same.

Against anyone else, you probably would have gone for Qxa5 or something.

Draw was fine, though - these opponents are ressourceful.

  • I couldn't beat IM Andrew Martin guys - he is commentator for the British championship among other things which I admire. He is too much of a nice guy. Please excuse the lack of killer instinct in this game. I was happy with a draw :)

  • @kingscrusher btw, thank you for the reference to his channel, it is also a great resource for chess, as is yours.

  • KC!!! put a piece of cardboard on the screen where your opponent's name and rating is. :)

  • @LeonComposer Well if he realizes who is playing. He may know the opponents strong points and try to build his strategy around that.

  • I thought black was a little better towards the end even if it didn't seem like it at first. That said, it's hard in a really close game against a really good opponent to not go for a draw vs. risk getting outplayed. Both sides had reasons to take a draw. Good game.

  • Added IM Andrew Martin's channel to my links in the Channel module. His channel as pointed out is at: YMChessMaster

  • Look for YMChessMaster for Andrew Martin's youtube channel.

It's a great one, I watch all his stuff.

  • Great draw in my view, had to earn Andrew Martin's respect there.

  • Come on!!! I watch your games every day! my rating was 1500 a month ago, now getting to 1700, cause of your strategic and tactical ideas. Stop worrying and crash them as you always do! You were winning 100%. Good game.

  • You are playing like a nervous schizophrenic. lol. Good game.

  • black seems better why why why

  • Kc is there a way you can get your radio shows as podcasts on iTunes?

  • looking again with houdini, it seems black's position was just better for several moves before the end. KC missed taking on A5 instead of repeating (yeah it decentralizes, but where's white's initiative?).

and if the white rook takes e7 like we suggested, what's next? Ra7? but if black is allowed to exchange queens on f3 and *triple* white's pawns...

i can see why white accepted the draw now.

  • After Rxe7 at the end, Kf8 Qxc5 Nxc5 Re1 looks like black has all the pressure with the passed pawn, maybe?

  • Nice.

  • oof, why didn't martin just play Rxe7 at the end??

  • @jaileroflove though, houdini 1.5 still scores it -1.63 even after the rook penetrates. huh.

  • @jaileroflove Thought the same instantly ... No idea.

  • You could have played for a win with b4-b3, his bishop was bad and your a pawn up

  • By the way. I found that channel in one minute by googling Andrew Martin Chess ;)

  • youtube.com/user/Chessdvds

  • I enjoy my morning coffee in the states watching some of your youtube videos. thank you very much and God bless

  • peaase post the link to mr martins yt channel, thankyou !.

  • Looked tempting to keep playing in the end. Could snap off a5 and try to force your a and b pawns. That being said, AndrewMartinIM was a very distracting name.

  • It's AndrewMartin!!! Well played against an IM. What's his channel name?

  • @SuperEpicCake YMChessMaster

  • @sausage4mash Yep, that's the channel I was thinking of.

  • It's AndrewMartin!!! Well played against an IM.
