  • at about 00:20 he says that approach, urr, didnt work. Plus, a lot of this is scripted

  • She is pretty awesome in her field and all. BUT.

I would much rather READ the interview, I gotta go back and hear every sentence twice, it is so damn hard to hear/understand what she is saying, too much stuttering.

  • He likes to quote Eienstein diesnt he?

  • she really need to learn how to frame sentences and speak fluently.

Extremely bad communication skills, really irritates me.

  • I got nothing against her being a woman or expect physicists to be public speakers, but compared to Kaku and the first guest, her speech faults are more noticeable.

  • need to read a few text books on this topic before one can understand this...

could the speakers please use simpler language and anologies that make it easier to follow... I am not an orthodox Christian...but, look at the simplicity of the Gospels for inspiration!!!!!

  • OMG are you people so thick, it is not about particles and gravity!!! It is about energy!! The string is that energy creates, energy is the source not the other way around and we are creators, we focus energy and create. "Seek and ye shall find" cause you are creating as you seek, "as you profess with your mouth so shall it be" Putting energy into vocal sound waves that ripple the universe and in the same way a pan of dust when shaken will create a pattern, your vibration FOE creates a reality.

  • @jamaican1232 ever heard about the LHC?!

  • I used to have a lot of respect for Dr. Kaku, until I heard him say that people not wanting a one world government are the terrorists....the video's on here...look it up

  • Maybe Einstein's antimatter self in a hyperspace membrane universe succeeded.

  • @jamaican1232 how is it not a 'real theory'? if you say you have a theory that the easter bunny delivers the presents for santa claus, that is a 'real theory'. it doesnt mean it has to be true. since sting theory doesnt currently make any testable hypotheses it puts it into the realm of philosophy. a philosophy that i happen to subscribe to.

  • @jamaican1232 not yet , maybe 2000 years later we would test this theory , if its wrong , something good will come out of it

  • when a human reminds you of another human think about clones... and then you will understand why it shouldn't bother you.. or should..

  • she sounds like those annoying teens talking about boys....damnnnn

  • Her hotness is distracting me from learning.

  • the Universe is a giant computer

  • She actually reminds me of my former physics lecturer. She knows her stuff, she just don't know how to present them or organize the info in a way that people can easily follow

  • she is difficult to listen to

  • Shut the fuck up with your complaints! Why don't you people just listen to the message she delivers instead of boasting about how she delivers it. Pay attention to the fucken subject matter, for fuck's sake!

  • This woman talks like someone who is incoherent. It is like trying to listen to a cell phone conversation that keeps breaking up. She has the most annoying voice I've UM UM UM heard. She rambles then stops and rambles and stops. I bet alot of her students had to take asprin to get through her lectures.

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Michio

  • Why are there so many comments regarding her weak articulation? You people would see a Picasso and complain about the frame that held it.

  • Booorriinggg...Is it me, or is she much more boring than he other guy? Geez

  • Michio Kaku AUM {OM} or mmm....

  • i think zero-point theory is a simpler and much more elegant unifying theory. it takes em and gravity, including the phases of matter. however it is the whole idea of getting something from "nothing".

  • i am having some trouble with pysicists with imagination and personality. it does appear they are now "selling theories" as apposed to imperical evidence that discribes and supports theories. is this theory a reality as you gain support for it? or are you gainning a secondary career illuminating theories which you have no realization of? im also going to move on to music.

  • @ThePliablereality-- my guess is that this type of thinking is needed in order to solve these kind of mysteries since doing testing on things that are smaller than electron is impossible. We must only imagine for now. I imagine these people have done quite a bit of math for it as well.

  • @prarieboarding it just seems like its a sales pitch for "magic water" hmmm i dont see your dreaming leading to facts here

  • And I know the theory of everything, would you listen? No. This is my last post, I'm going to go and listen to some good music (led Zeppelin), instead of listening to this crap.

  • I would let her be my physics teacher any time!

  • I was listening to this and near the end I missed something, so I clicked on the bar to replay but nothing happened. It wouldn't replay, then I opened my eyes and realized I only dreamed that I had clicked the mouse, and then I was like whoa, that's like a parallel universe where think don't work as we expect.

  • why do you keep going back to gravity the question was explain string theory? string theory is more about how things are all tied together in in several dimensions but originating from shall we say point 0. and travel out in an infinite amount of directions and changing as they travel. possibly due to quantum theory, and relativity of perception of an individual..

  • Couldn't Dr. Michio Kaku explain all of theories himself? I'm sure he already knew what she was going to say.

  • Yes. I wanted to hear more about her work!!!

  • He definitely knows what she is going to say it's just because it is his show and he doesn't want to explain everything himself because that would be boring so he gets other peoples opinions......

  • @funglip

He wants to use more of important human resources so to make people believe.

  • If someone has phd in physics and graduated from harvard or princiton does not mean he or she understands physics.

  • Is that so? Hmm...

  • you obviously havent been to college

  • @addis11100

you need a thesis statement that explains by physics something that no one on earth has discovered to get a Ph.D in physics.

  • I think some people are misunderstanding your statement. =p

  • haha, if you count the seconds between every um, it gets pretty hilarious. i think she should've done this by text. would've been much better.

  • from what i understand they are extra dimensions but they are curled up so its impossible to study/see them.

  • lol, michio kaku is one on o f the biggest names in string theory

  • yes, shapes actually since the think strings takes their form(what they are eg as proton or light or whatever) of passing through them

  • I think she would probably be better if she were talking in person, it sounds like both guests were talking over the phone. She is obviously very intelligent regardless of how well she conveys what is on her mind in this particular series. To anyone who ridicules her, just remember what schools she has been to and what she is known for, and compare it to what schools you have attended and what you are known for (if anything). Jealousy begets stupidity.

  • Lisa's actually pretty hot, I think

  • Um... people need to... um... give her a break...um...people are criticizing her...um.....just because she's like a woman.

    Kaku rocks!

  • um.. um.. um..

  • She is a horrible speaker. Her voice trails like she is going to stop, then she starts up again.

  • agreed, kind of annoying

at least she knows what she is talking about though

  • Your negative attitude show... Instate of focus on what she has contribute to the subject and LEARN, People like you, pick on ANYONE no matter how small it is, just to show yourself are smarter or better.

  • The way Michio speaks is unique. If you notice, despite his slight accent, he never once says er or um. He never hesitates either and is totally articulate.

  • He has the same lecture speech like everywhere and same words so he i effectively what I would say a possible sighting of a alien robot-lifeform ;-)

  • @Blammo777 Kaku?? That crazy jap?

  • @Blammo777 What did you expect ?! He's made in Japan !

  • @Blammo777 I agree!! Hes cool.... but go to 00:16 .... yeh im a smart ass :p

  • @Blammo777 The host will ALWAYS be more prepared with exactly what they are saying when they speak. But your point is very true in the situations where HE is on the answering side.... I like hearing him talk almost as much as I like listening to Carl Sagan's voice. Just in a different way

  • @Blammo777 the true idiot listen to sound she makes instead of the content

  • @Blammo777 Kaku was born and raised in the United States to immigrant Japanese parents.

  • i love physics cuz it's weird, out of this world....

  • I could listen to Michio forever... Love this

  • Yeah hes not only a genius but has a very bright personality

  • Einstein didn't fail, he just ran out of linear time.

  • @obeliskbreaker

If human imperfection is a standard, then indeed he did fail.

  • @obeliskbreaker witch means he failed. Or nobody ever fails because one didn't had time ? Yep... he failed... he run out of time

  • @obeliskbreaker He actually did fail and he was a plagiarist as well.

  • @obeliskbreaker

    He didn't succeed either.

He made MOST of his discoveries as a young, time-pressed patent clerk.

When he became a professor with its trappings his discoveries seriously tailed off.

  • the strong force lol is how strong is the strong force is lol

  • you kidding?.... hope so lol

  • i know lol

  • I agree with you, uupoh.

She made the interesting subject sound really dull. So disappointing...

  • but she's so hot

  • does she have a cold or she does not want to be understood?

  • he asked her about the M theory & she just talking string theory.lol

  • Caught in some time-loop, again?

  • he asked her about the M theory & she just talking string theory.lol

  • why do physicists say when you go to a place where both gr and gm have equal say over the physics evolve that it breaks down, the physics does not break down at all, instead it spirals out of perception and becomes impossible to think about because of the irrational numbers, essential if black holes are real(and many astrophysicists agree that they are)and you believe qm and gr are real then the problem is not the theories the problem is our ability to imagine results of both at the same time.

  • I think our minds are the biggest problem in human's ability to understand what is REALLY going on in our Universe. I really don't think our brains can comprehend the truth.

It would be like trying to explain geometry to a baby.

  • @SchmokinJoe

true, since we evolved our ability to solve problems all the way from a time when our ancestors are not aware of much as that of a unicellular organism.

  • do you think its possibly that the reason gravity is weak compared to all other forces is because of it being spread between the other dimensions, kaku mentions in an earlier vid that gravity is the only one that can go through to them. just a thought

  • yeah thats the thinking, gravity is theorized t be on closed looped strings and therefore is able to pass to other dimensions.

  • yea, i did watch another vid not long after and it explained it, but cheers anyway

  • Gravity just come from size in none thing.

  • That what makes Dr. Kaku so great. He still has the ability to interpret the information into simple terms. I bet her students are snoring 2 min into her lectures.. lol

  • I would sit in on one of her lectures before you make that assumption. Its really very enlightening.

  • but often times it seems he makes it Too simple.

  • I wish Sagan was still alive as she would be the model for his character Ellie from Contact, she even looks a bit like Jodie Foster. Maybe she'll go on to write down the final bits that will bring together a unified field theory.

  • hahah agreed, Dr.Arroway

  • I have no problem understanding her,

  • She may be a good physicist but really a terrible speaker. Such an interesting subject but she sounds like she is talking in some alien dimension! She needs to learn some human public speaking.

  • It seems to me she has a problem thinking of a way to dumb it down for most people to understand. She speaks more comfortably when she uses terminology that a layperson wouldnt understand.

  • if you can do better I why not start posting your own vids.

  • She's a lousy speaker. It's hard to listen to her, although the subject is very interesting

  • I saw her speak at Fermilab, and she was pretty good there.

  • Interesting. so these branes are all around us? Really interesting...(heh..I just realize what I though to be String Theory is actually M theory and vise versa. )

  • This dude seems like he knows his shit

  • That woman is full of bullshit. I can't really understand a word of what she says.

  • Did it ever occurred to you that maybe the subject is way beyond your expertise ?
