  • When I am an old lady I am totally gonna dress up as Maleficent for Halloween

  • I love the music choice for the background :)

  • That is really cool!!

  • A question! Does Disney still use live action models for their films ...?

  • What music is this in the beginning?

  • Thank you all so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed this video! Your comments are truly appreciated

  • It amazed me that a company that was so practiced at traditional cartoons (e.g. Mickey, Donald, and Goofey) could draw such realistic people starting with Snow White. This was the piece I was missing. ...and agreed with others - the music makes it all the more magical. Thank you.

  • captain hook is the most impressive.

  • Sherri Stoner was also the live model for Belle in Beauty and the Beast. I have no idea where to find footage tho.

  • @Shabbalicious you can find footage on the beauty and the beast blu-ray.

  • see this is the reason I LOVE hand drawn animation, so much creativity and imagination goes into it. The computer animation we have these days DOES NOT COMPARE! it takes out the human element, and that is the whole part of animation, its an artist using their mind and a pencil! That is the magic of animation, you are not just drawing lines on a paper its EMOTION!.

  • Thank you so much for posting this!! It's VERY interesting to see how these animators took what they saw and brought it into the animated world! It's truly amazing!!

  • As an aspired animator myself.. I wish one day to have the opportunity with people like this. Dreams to fulfill :)

  • I would of loved to see Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and the Sword in the stone :D

  • I can only imagine the tragedy of their attempt at doing this for Lion King.

  • i cant wait to work in the studios.....i know im going to work there

  • Holy crap! I knew about the models, but I didn't know they went all the way to Aladdin! Does Disney use models anymore? Or is it sort of an old technique now?

  • @CROCODlLE I don't thinks so, since CGI has evolutioned a lot during the last two decades to help animators with the movement of animated characters in newer movies like ''PRINCES AND THE FROG'' or the animated sequence of ''ENCHANTED'' :(

  • @murdlok Lame. =(

  • The video is AMAZING, all of us who love animation and especially Disney movies enjoy every second of it! Thanks!

  • p.s. thanks for the video it's lovely!

  • anyone know where to find that last clip for aladdin? I saw it on youtube awhile ago but I've been dying to look it up again and can't find it!

  • Aww. The music fits perfectly, it makes it more magical. This is a wonderful compilation of live reference models. Disney truly brings out the best in everything. :)

  • I'm a Graphic design student and we're doing a motion project, and this video has helped me with my research, on disney and animation techniques (rotoscoping) so thanks for that, great video :D

  • sleeping beauty's model was astounding O: disney never ceases to amaze me.

  • 4:37 what seen was that based on in sleeping beauty?

  • Thank you everyone for your positive feedback! I'm so glad you enjoy the video!

  • @disneydreams89 no, thank YOU , for this amazing video.

  • i love the music xD i don't know why but it adds to the feeling of being brought back in time and adds to the footages <3

  • THIS VID IS PURE AWESOMENESS >:D

  • Thank you for commenting :)

  • My goodness, this blew me away. I would like to thank Walt Disney for creating such beautiful films, Disney is the reason who I am today :)

  • @yumyumluckycharms The animation in Disney is really a state-of-the-art work :)

  • I'm so glad you all enjoy this video :)

  • cool

  • Watching this just makes me think "Poor Katherine Beaumont!" (alice/wendy) I never even thought of what she had to do for the house seen!

  • They should have some of Paul Collins acting out John Darling

  • That is what disney animation is missing now. The realness and live action models to bace from. It just looks more life like and 'real' even though it's animation.

  • at my college there's a book on disney and it had some photos of live action refs from cinderella.

  • @masterstarfox Cool! Any idea what the book is called? Is there any live action refs from Peter Pan I can find anywhere. Books or whatever?

  • @johneli25 i'll have to look when i go back to college.

  • You are very welcome
