  • AWESOME song!!!10/10* Watch my version:)))

  • J'ai vu cette prestation dans un POP 2 de 1971

  • After Taylor left the Stones were all done. Also after Taylor left Jagger stopped writing good lyrics and mostly wrote love songs to his aging dick.

  • WHO FOUND THIS ONE????Gem

  • It,'s Mick Taylor doing all the interesting guitar parts...

  • You know, Mick Taylor was such a solid rhythm guitarist

  • @MrTriss83 So true. Mick Taylor is well rounded as a player.

  • @MrTriss83 Mick Taylor played lead only... Hello? Keith suks on lead..

  • Stonesやばすぎ!

  • i looked behind me too see if the angels were there/[./[/.[./.

  • Mick Taylor is amazing here - kinda like Clapton with the Bluesbreakers.

  • they couldn't do that anymore these days - not on a stage by the size of a football field

  • @dockaiser I don´t get that? I know artists say some songs don´t fit larger venues... but I always wondered how they think? Like there´s a great recent clip where they play "Not fade away" at a smaller place. Why not at a big one?

The problem with the Stones nowadays is that Mick basically stopped singing sometime around 1980, and too many musicians on stage, so no member has to carry any weight, like here. Today it´s like one stone can stop playing, and no one will notice.

  • @baskethilt What I tried to say is, that there is a lot of spontaneity and improvisation going on at this gig, which requires to communicate among the musicians. On those gigantic stages it's hard to communicate, maybe with 1 or 2 musicians in your closer area, but it's hard to contact 12 musicians simultaneously.

But I agree, those concerts from the late 80's on are just boring, 'cause of perfection. They totally lack the Stones typical feeling ...

  • @dockaiser Thanks for your reply. Those late 60s and 70s shows has a certain vibe that is immideately recognisable even on my laptop. Extasy. Later stuff is more like "yeah, it´s actually good, when I listen carefully in my headphones". Mick is working hard for that extasy nowadays, maybe too hard hehe...

  • that break at 6:42 is priceless, plus Mick's smile towards the other Mick ..

  • March 6, 1971

  • @DrWeirdPro didn't they play the Coventry Theatre that night?

  • The way people are commenting on keith becoming so lazy, you's do all knows its to do with the key he chose to play the song in? Thats like saying he played tumbling dice with a capo on the second fret because he was lazy, it made the song on what it was?

  • The pure and furious force of Rock´n Roll !!! No one band has the group and individual talent like the Stones... Is simply awesome to see these guys playing on the B-side !!!

  • que pasadera

  • @UKRod Love his nonchalent, nothing-out-of-the-ordinary expression as he says these words. Some people have to pay for these words to be actioned - not Mick at that time.

  • According to The Rolling Stones Chronicle, it was on March 26th.

  • You use a capo in order to get different droning strings or voicings, it has nothing to do with laziness. Richard Thompson uses one all the time.

    Keef is a guitar genius.

  • @skylolo99 - He changes tempo about four times on this tune and manages to take the band with him all the way through.

  • You use a capo in order to get different voicings not cuz yer lazy - Keef is a guitar genius

  • good song, good performance, but I really dislike those quick shots, in quick succession!

  • If you notice No bas and no drums

  • @tejastiger61 - Charlie and Bill are rocking right along here. Poorly recorded, though.

  • According to The Rolling Stones Chronicle, it was filmed on March 26.

  • According to The Rolling Stones Chronicle, it was filmed on March 26.

  • According to The Rolling Stones Chronical, it was filmed on March 26.

  • @keef186 That's not true. He was a huge rockstar; he just had somebody else do it.

  • @202pdiddy right that's what roadies are for

  • That's glam rock garb on Mick for sure.

  • Howdy ya'll. It's my bd today, and im stuck in a place that stinks lol

So i thought i needed to hear this...

a little old fashioned raunchiness will help!

Thanks for posting this historic doc

    ;-) weir4ever

  • Too bad they didn't do Can't you hear me knocking durng this show

  • "And it HURTS"..9:50▬scary.....

  • @keef186 A new guitar most of the time isn't in tune when you get it out of the case so it really doesn't matter whether you use a new one or not.

And he uses a capo because it's the only way to play these songs the right way.

  • i think i have this (original video release) without the bottom of the screen...

  • Awesome! That Is The Stones!

  • @keef186 You ever tried to tune a guitar on a noisy stage with thousands of people clapping and screaming and yelling? Almost impossible! You can't hear yourself.

  • that was awesome and I don't really like this song.

they definitely aren't the same band now - and couldn't be even if they tried.

  • @keef186 yes it´s true!!

  • March 26, 1971, when the band played London's Marquee Club. The gig was very private; tickets weren't sold to the general public, and most of the Stones fans living in London had no idea that it was taking place.

  • jesus...im sure Mick Taylor had his own good reasons to leave, but i mean...listen to this...how did he not feel the magic here..that shoulda been enough for him to stay...i know mick and keef were nazis when it came to songwriting but....ugh...LISTEN TO THIS !!!!!!!!! ALL BALLS...NO THINKIN' ALLOWED!!!!!

  • great harp .....

  • Does anyone know the exact date of the show?

  • They had a bit of a layoff between March 14-26th so its somewhere in between

  • the video for Dead Flowers from this set of gigs/this gig is said to be from 6 March 1971, if that means anything.

  • @Skald82 according to the website of the marquee club was on March 26

  • what harp used he?

    hohner, suzuki or lee oskar?

  • @nitemarehippyboy hohner.

  • i think i have this without the numbers at the bottom...

  • The Stones in the 1970s could be the adage of Western culture... Just great. This whole show is on many bootlegs, but the best one is from "The Swinging Pig", best bootleg company.

  • can you share the debut live version in hyde park for stones Midnight rambler?

    thanks

the video one is not complete

and why 1969 tour version of this song had no video?

  • allright here's the bajillion dolla question..........what key is the harp that mick is blowin?

  • B I think

  • @skajellafetti The song's in B so he's an E harp.

  • Hey, correct me if I'm wrong, but in all the existing videos of the Stones, I've never seen Keith lose his place.

He always said he cleaned up before a tour.

  • little heroin , a little cocaine, the clothes look good and the music sounds fine

  • Great performance but extremely annoying video editing.

  • Classics...fantastic..eternal moments

  • 9:54...My gawd,Richards looked

    unrecognisable there,spooky.

Not 'elegantly' wasted at all here

Was almost about to die, like many of his,

    compatriots in those years,

Somebody up there must've liked him.

  • Very good!!!

  • And it hurts ♀

  • hey Keef, that's my guitar you're playing

  • hahaha this song is so Bad Ass!!!

  • Oh My Lord, a bass flourish by Bill at 7:50. Gotta listen a couple of times, but it's there. Dropping a little statement, but shows he's got some life after all. Man, do I love these guys. Sooooo good.

  • Yeah, that gold sequined vest thing is for a little girl training poodles in the circus. LOL.

  • Taylor's vibrato is positively succulent.

  • Fantastic song!

  • Love Charlie's cymbal at 6:35. Class!

  • Thank you for posting this. ROCK-N-ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's funny...I love the Let it Bleed album, but this was always a song I could take or leave, until I saw it live. Now I love this song.

  • to me..this is the Rolling Stones best song

  • WOW !

  • Fuckin A

  • This video clip shows why they are the Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World! Amazing to see them play as a band, as musicians--here they are really tight and instinctive with each other. And they nail this song--no flash just rock-solid playing. One of their greatest live songs.

  • @jamal49 There's only three things that made groups like The Stones so tight: practice, practice, practice-both individually, to learn their respective instruments and together, to learn their repertoire of songs. Todays groups should try and emulate this. HINT HINT

  • @jamal49 PERFECT COMMENT!

  • fuckin nasty!

  • 1:08 Capo....

    Would be too exhausting

    to play otherwise ☺

  • Capo at what - 7th fret?

Do you know if he's in open G?

    5 strings?

  • Keith had for almost every song another capo'd guitar, he became a bit lazy.

I can play this without capo, but not for very long though ▬☺

Anywayz....who could blame him,as long as it sounds alright./

  • @PAULLONDEN On the other hand.. Brian May from queen used the same guitar for nearly every song.

  • If you can play this at all without the capo/7 then you can't be playing what Richards was playing. You would have to be a freak of nature to get the fingers down correctly using a barre chord.

  • @PAULLONDEN ...That's interesting cause he's playing 'Let it Rock' and 'Dead Flowers' from the same show without one.....and as anyone who knows anything about it...boy..don't...need....one.

  • @PAULLONDEN

To play this song properly you need to use a capo.

    It's in Open G w/ a capo on the 4th fret.

(It looks like he might have it a little higher on this version, which would mean he was tuned to a lower register, but it's hard to tell from the video.)

Switching to standard tuning and/or retuning after changing the capo position tends to slow the show down, especially on tv.

  • Capo 4 Open G

    Standard tuning Taylor no Capo.

  • This was not played in open G.

  • On closer examination, Richards is indeed Capo 7. So he was playing standard?

  • 12stringsforme:

Yeah, it looks like G cuz of the Capo, but as someone else here also noted, its capo'ed because its some really harsh, crazy riffing off of just a 7th fret, standard "B" chord. If you do a search on YouTube some good versions come up but they go down just as fast due to copyright. A Youtuber named "MyFavoriteVideoClip" has a great tutorial on it.

Limber up though !! ha ha ha ha

    Peace out, my friend !

  • I have a really good Guitar Pro arrangement with open G 4 capo, but the file is somehow corrupt and won't open in GP for Mac. It does work for Windows but I don't have the Windows GP anymore. Grrrr.

  • There are no arrangements for this song in open tunings. It's a blues shuffle totally written in and for standard tuning. Keith would never try to play this in some open tuning.

  • Yes, he's playing standard, capoed at 7th.

  • eh what? Midnight rambler has never been played in any open tunings. Most of their songs are played in standard tuning. Some were recorded in Open D, others Open G. He didnt use different guitars for all songs in 1973 not more so than other years but they may have had more songs played with open G tuning in 1972 and 1973 than in 1969.

  • With all respect-the beatles never R&R. The glimmer twins,CANT be beat---- Never

  • The Glimmer Twins AND MICK TAYLOR!

He's was just as important back in the

70's as he was what made them not just good but GREAT LIVE!! - MLC

  • ooohwah, the ol'beeyatles could rock !!! Whenever they wanted to.

To twist the old line...... When does an 800 pound gorilla rock?

Whenever HE wants to, whenever HE wants!

  • while Mick Jaggar was the greatest front man in the greatest Rock and roll band to ever take the stage

there are NO lifes thast are insignificant

  • Love Mick's harmonica playing...hey Francis, much as the Beatles are great, the Stones win, hands down, they'll always be my favorite... this is absolutely unbelievable!

  • the downfall of my life is.. i wanted to be mick jagger...but there will be only one "mick jagger" and thats 'mick jagger'.. me..a lost soul who lived a rather insignificant life. invisible to the world.

  • I'm not into Mick Jagger but you hit it on the head with "a lost soul who lived a rather insignificant life. invisible to the world." It sucks, doesn't it? Makes you wanna write a song about it.

  • I wouldn't worry about it, skitzy. I don't think it would be all that fun to be Jagger.

  • Really?

  • that jam in the last 5 minuts is fking mood altering and mind blowin

  • Dear God!

Did he REALLY say "go down on me, baby. Go down on me, baby" at 6:12?!?!?!?

It's getting awfully hot in here....

  • Hahahahaha I used to intentionally play this part for my girlfriend years back.

  • @keef186

You could play this to old women all day long. They wouldn´t take their cue.

  • @redwoodrebelgirl Girl yes...

  • SWEEEEEET!

I love those videos that show Jagger-flesh! What a yummy tummy!

I just wish that Keith would have shown some skin, too!

This is a great video! Love it!

  • did you hear ?

  • I wish I had my u-matic VCR still. Seeing the timecode makes me miss it.

  • JAGGER IS THE BEST FRONT MAN..EVER !

  • pitty about his singing (joking ofcourse)

  • Does it get any better then this????

  • great performance of jagger..good times.

  • I've been searching for the last 35 years, and I can't find a better version of this song then the one on "Get Yer Ya Yas out"...They NEVER play the last 1:30 of this song like they do on that Live album..I've had bootleg albums back in the 1970's from all over the world, and they just don't play it like that..It's a great solo

  • I agree with Rangerdgd1.

I have posted before that the midnight rambler version of get yer ya ya's out is one of the best live recordings ever. Alle other versions I heard (about 15) are inferior.

  • There's some pretty amazing bootleg version of MR...July 11, 1975 from LA is incredible!

  • 'cos GYYYO has some studio overdubs :o

  • the only overdubs r vocals

  • I agree. I also think that the JJF version and Satisfaction version from the film Gimme Shelter are also the best they've ever done of those songs.

  • yeah man, the satisfaction in that movie is so killer. i wish it was on ya ya's. and the jumpin jack has an awesome solo, that the one on ya ya's does not.

  • wow..one of greatest..

  • nice version

would have liked to see the camera more on the guitars though

  • excellent merci

  • Great Song but i think the 1972 stp tour version is the best. Mick is on fucking fire during the song. just as he start's he take's a big sip of JD and the Rock's it for 9min's.The band also rock's as well it's the Stones man.

  • Charlie Watts on drums.

  • Mike à l'harmonica ... Vaouuuuuuuu!! C'est bon

  • awesome...there´s a time I search this video here..you get before me...thanks !
