@hazapaza82 Reinforced the back wall mount with a piece of plywood that could fit against the back wall. The canoe floats great sitting still and of course with the engine and gas tank in the back it sits down a bit. Stability is great and cruises down the lake well. Good luck on the setup and go for the 15hp!
Yeah the canoe is rated for 5hp engine, but the 10 works great (just have to re-enforce the back wall mount. The engine isn't too heavy, one person can carry it on and off the canoe. This day in particular we were running premium and hardly any weight in the canoe. It gets a lot of looks out on the lake..but always fun.
I have the same Old Town canoe model.
How have you re-enforced the back wall mount ?
Have you installed some sort of skid at the end of the boat, to help sliding?
How deep the canoe flotates when not moving?
It would be probably a good idea to put some sort of flotation on board. Styrox or empty 10l cans. I mean if the canoe flips over...bulbul
What about the stability, is it very stagger?
