  • Why is the SMB 2 Super Mario USA????

  • @flexyldy Because the japanese version of SMB2 is not the same as the western version, so when they released "our" version in Japan they called it SMB2 USA

  • @flexyldy we never got the real SMB2

  • @m91nagant I know. I really wish I had a Famicom and the disk system to play the real SMB2 and Doki Doki Panic.

  • Man I want a famicom SO BADLY! I have a bootleg chinese one (known as a famiclone) that was made to look like an Xbox 360. Not joking. It was cheap so I took it apart. I might buy another one to take apart and put it into another case, a "mod" I guess you could call it. Oh yeah great video by the way! I have a tendency to ramble.,

  • This video is like a long great song. I love this video. More than 5/5 stars from me!

  • Aww, why Super Mario USA instead of Doki Doki Panic?

Maybe the arabians were killed in sake to let Mario get the title and act like there Doki Doki Panic never happened.

  • Yah! Famicom forever! Best console

  • there is a song called famicom medley that you can unlock on super smash bros brawl, but its different from this.

  • Bellissimo....

  • FAMICOM LOVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It would have been cool if they put "MOTHER" into this :/ but still.... being the retro freak I am, I like this! Me wants a famicom!

  • is famicon a nintendo product i was never sure but its kinda confusing they have nintendo platform games but it doesnt look like a nintendo product

  • Famicom (short for family computer) was nintendo's first system, they eventually released it in the united states under the name "Nintendo Entertainment System" (NES)

They are almost identical in except for the fact that the famicom has a different look, better sound and an optional disk drive add on.

  • Game & Watch Color TV Game System was Nintendo's first game system in 1977.Famicom came out in 1983, then as Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985

  • Actually the Famicom is not the first game console released by Nintendo. They had a few Pong/Odyssey style consoles called the Color TV Game, released in 1977. They had pre-programmed games and had knobs for controller input just like a Pong console. They weren't released outside of Japan though.

Game and Watch was a series of handheld consoles starting in 1980 and going all the way until 1991, predating the Famicom by three years.

  • yeah, I meant to say their first cartridge based system. =)

  • @brtshstel I still have my double screen game & watch. Maybe that's where Nintendo got their idea for their DS, from their game & watch series: Donkey Kong DS, Oil Panic DS, Green House DS. I also still have my Mario Brothers DS which opens like a book, unlike the other ones.

  • Really? That's amazing. I would love to have an original Game and Watch. Those things are relics these days, especially the double-screen version. Nintendo paid much homage to the NES with the Nintendo 64, and the DS is now doing the same with the dual-screen Game and Watch.

  • It is. Famicom is Japanese version of NES.

  • japan fucked with us mario usa !!! they knew i have to go chris brown a bitch

  • more like they got fucked the already had this game under dokey dokey panic they were resold the same game

  • yes but mario usa is on cartrigde and doki doki panic is on the disk system

  • Christ, does anyone read their comments before posting? Half of these comment sound illiterate.

Nintendo's original Super Mario Bros 2 was a direct sequel of the first SMB, with more challenging levels, and a few graphical changes.

Nintendo decided that the game was too challenging for American, and released one of their Disk games "Doki Doki Panic!" as Super Mario Bros 2 in the US by replacing the character sprites.

We know the true SMB2 as "The Lost Levels", and they know our SMB2 as "USA".

  • Yeah, but have you played Mario USA?

    It's an amazing game!

  • WTF!??!? it's the most amazing video in the world ^^!!

  • sorry..i do have USA & Japanese SNES..but only USA NES

  • the only Japanese games system i have is the Nintendo 64DD...not famicom..however..i do have NES & SNES..i have 25 game systems in all

  • Awesome to have the N64DD!

  • i like how the samurai guy look he look like zelda MAN i wan a remake of that game in 3d

  • For the Famicom red and white are the colours of the Japanese flag.

If only the US NES is in red, white and blue which are the colours of the American flag..

  • Hey we have this one in the Philippines.

  • JAPANESE NES, NOT CHINESE NES

  • @wocko1 Yeah, though there were chinese copies of the Famicom on sale in western countries. I had one called Family Games, so it's kinda a Famigam/Famigame.

  • @wocko1 chinese nes is cooler.

  • Comment removed

  • this is like the theme song to a comedy show xD

  • Just a neat code for Metroid:

    NARPAS SWORD

    Then a bunch of 0's

  • I got this game its 204 Games in 1 cartridge for the Famicom dont know wheter to sell it or keep it

  • Keep it. You neva know if THAT game is rare. If it is keep it because All games for one cart is betta than one game for all carts.

  • Famicom or NES, either way, the best game system ever.

  • @brtshstel even though im only 16, i grew up with the NES and i agree, it's the best system ever. :D

  • 3:00

They have a little epic build up for the Legend of Zelda. It's just that awesome :]

  • OMG baloon FIght pwned all, I still play this with my friend co-op hella fun!

  • At 1:20 did they update Japan's Doki Doki Panic to be Super Mario Bros 2 in the US?

  • yeah, after they changed it to SMB 2 for US, they put it on the famicom as super mario USA

  • Now that is a song that should be in brawl.

  • Shin Oni Ga Shima looks like a hard game, and it also looks like it was very hard to program, considering the game uses vertical writing instead of horizontal like in most games.

  • やばい。なんか悲しくなる。

  • Did you say

"Oops, seems to be sad." ?

If so, then what are you talking about?

  • homage to nintendo

  • lol hmm i like how famicom looks better but i <3 nes

  • Compare it to the NES it looks awful...

    NES has a better look.

but what does it matter... it does the same as the NES.

  • In my opinion, the NES bulky and over complicated design made it a worst looking console.

  • but there's a modem, a disk system, a keyboard with basic, and there was even a microphone in the controler, so the Famicom had a LOT more features than the NES.

  • I like the Famicom colors beter the the NES colors

  • yeah. i know a lot of game systems and computers in the 80s were gray or beige, but the red and white in the Famicom is better than the greys in the NES. plus, the controllers too had more cheery colors than the NES had.

  • if u pause at 1:32 at the right time peach is constipated

  • it has part of ``NIGGA STOLE MY BIKE``

  • For some reason, Youtube put my comment in the wrong area. I was answering Sombrio12's question. I think he asked why his Famicom said "Computer Game" instead of "Family Computer".

  • Can someone please tell me how to get a Famicom to work in the U.K.?

  • Get a stepdown plug. sets the electrical frequency for our setting...so you wont melt the console lol

  • Thanks!

  • i got a family computer like that!!!

  • beautifull,

  • I wrecked like two of those growing up. *,*

  • Your right about that, The Famicom and FDS did have more of a Variety in Games then The NES, But then again isn't that always the case? Japan DOES get a lot more exclusive games then The US(With The UK a sort of middle ground, Excluding FDS that is).

And yeah some games that were FDS ported to The NES did lose some Sounds, Like Zelda II and Castlevania 3, But with C3 I didn't notice any difference yet.

    Thanks!

  • When I think about it, Seeing The FDS, I think that Japan's NES was way more advanced then what people got in The US, Then again I'm a Sega Genesis Fan that just my theory!

I don't even own a NES anyway! XD

  • Oh man¡ yo tengo una pregunta mi famicom dice Computer Game en vez que la tuya dice Family Computer, y tengo una duda mi famicom tenia una conexion y en ese iban dos controles, el tuyo tambien?

  • Sorry, But I can't understand you..... -_-

  • Entonces creo que es falso.

  • Yo pienso ese tu Famicom no es hace de Nintendo.

  • talvez family game sea un clon del la Family computer

  • @TheMatrixpoophispano Así es, la Family game conociamos es un clon chino de la Famicom

  • lol SM2 USA

  • :D this was amazing

  • i swear someday i will own this system. mainly cuz i want to play the real super mario 2 on its original system. man i love mario games. after n64 video games got boring for me. except there were some cool games for playstation when it was first released like the first crash bandicoot

  • ................you know what.......one day.......i.....will follow in your quest to ubtain this system...i collect old systems like these nothing better than to chill wiht a friend and play snes or famicom or any old system

  • yeah N64 and anything before it all kick ass. they never get old. friends always laugh when they see my old shit but if they ever play it they always wish they still had theirs

  • I own this system. :)

  • i didnt know famicom did a usa mario in addition to their doki doki panic. i wonder why usa wanted to make super mario 2 instead of doki doki panic and call super mario 2 lost levels instead. probably jsut some crazy markiting tactic. like doki didnt jive well wiht american culture or something

  • Are you wondering why the japanese mario 2 wasn't realeased in america? Its because nintendo thought it was to difficult for american audiences. Also if you want to play the japanese mario 2 you can download it off the wii virtual console.

  • too difficult really. come on the first mario is too easy. i have super mario all stars now so i can play the "lost levels" on the snes. i guess america does have a rep for being a bit impatient but i love mario games and i cant wait to beat this one. it should be fun and i cant imagine it being too difficult. the harder the better i think when it comes to any mario bros game.

  • Another reason I think it wasn't realised in america is because it was to much like the first one. In fact it basically is the first one but with a change in texture on a couple of the sprites.

  • You might underestimate it, after all, Mario 2 was the hardest Mario game ever, and was quote "for players who MASTERED Mario 1" I have played it and it is crazy hard. You can beat it, but it usually takes 30min to and hour. I swear, I took 20 lives just to take one castle.

  • Oh, Irate Gamer said that it looked 2 much like the original SMB, at least he says that in the SMB2 vieo here on youtube... too hard btw, how do you mean?

(sry 4 crappy english, im SWE...^^)

  • Irate Gamer blows, never watch his channel again.

  • oh fuckin' fuck yeah!

  • I loved to play Donkey Kong 3, and I know everyone loved Super Mario Bros & Legend of Zelda. I never played Nazo no Murasamejou, but looks fun !

  • i miss this family games... b4 i used to still money from my mama just to play computer games like this.. i got really spank in the house after she found out... i play 20 hours straight... our tv color tube got busted becoz of this... my friend b4 didnt take a bath for 1 straight week playing this game

  • nintense!

  • I NEVER knew LoZ1 was originally called "The Hyrule Fantasy". Learn something new every day.

    Awesome video, favorited!

  • That was really cool!!

  • awesome

  • Great video! I like how he gives just 2 seconds of play time to URBAN CHAMPION! LOL! Was that intended to reflect how awful the game is?

  • can you use a Japanese Famicom with an American electrical socket without an adaptor?

  • Yes. Japan's 100v and the US 120v are very similar. However, you if you live in Europe you need an adapter.

  • 2 thumbs up!!! i still keep my red-white machine at home!! god i luv those days, when a friend buys a cartridge, and rotate it among other friends!

The famicom was available in the asian market

  • Wow...love it. Greetings from Oklahoma! 5 stars and favorited! I've always loved NES, but I saw how cool famicom was when I went to Akihabara for the first time!

  • congrats on 20 years pwnage

  • One more thing. Clu-Clu Land looks like the Japaneese version of Pac-Man.

  • It certainly is similar and borrows some aspects from Pac-Man, but if you try it out, you'll see that it's actually very different.

  • disk system clu clu land is diferent to nes/fc version

  • It has new content, but the gameplay is still pretty much identical.

  • famicom forever

have you noticed that the famicom has the colours from japanese flag?

in south america we don´t have nes or famicom,we have a famiclone called "family game" which looks so similar to famicom but the controllers can be unplugged instead of the famicom

    greetings from argentina,5 stars,and favorited

  • Have you also noticed that GameBoy Micro's are slightly smaller Famicom controllers with screens?

  • yes of course

i like it but they are only in japan :-(

    greetings from argentina

  • Japanese

  • Disk system is awesome! Shame there wasn't a nes one.

  • sweet old times

  • Why is it so hard to find Nazo no Murasamejou?!
