  • Thank you Alan for your kind remarks. I wish I could take the song further but wherever I try I get no response.

    Thanks again

  • Thank you for this tribute and reminder of the Trials, Excellent.

  • Nice song! I live quite close to the line you're singing about!

  • True. But I was stuck finding photos of George, though I'm sure Robert won't mind.

Nobody's perfect. But did you like the song?

  • The second and third image isn´t George Stephenson, it´s his son, Robert Stephenson

  • love the roket...:D where you get the song?

  • @WHOisHE15

I have written many train songs but I wrote this one during the Liverpool Capital of Culture year 2008 with the intension of presenting it to the Liverpool Museum of science, as they had a replica of the famous Rocket.. When they heard the song the asked "But what has it got to do with Liverpool?" I was gobsmacked, so I just went home, Laughing.

I'm pleased you like the song

    best wishes

    John

  • @smallstepswmp Great song. I'm sure the manchester terminus of the line would appreciate it. There is a permanent gallery dedicated to the line in Liverpool Road Station now part of the museum of science and industry in manchester. The museum also runs the production run that followed with a replica of the Planet.

  • Thank you for your kind comment.

    John.
