  • i find this extremely easy to wank to

  • i had my fist op in april last year after it i could not eat food just was sick all the time so this year in march had a other op and im still the same been living with a peg feed for 15 hours a day thats not a life i hate it just what to die

  • WTF, everyone with Gerd (Acid Reflux) worries about this cancer but Gerd isn't even a main risk factor. Approximately, less than 0.5% of non-smokers and normal drinkers who have chronic Gerd actually develops esophageal cancer. The esophageal cancer scare is part of the reason why Gerd medication is so expensive. Stop taking your Gerd medication, because it's a waste of money. Just eat well, maintain a healthy weight and done drink much or smoke at all. I do all this, have Gerd and I feel fine.

  • @mcgregwood7 good advice for some, but moronic to assume it would work for everyone else that have structural abnormalities that diet, meds and weight cannot control.

  • @mcgregwood7

That medication makes it even worse. It worked for the first few months, but then i got serious side effects including horrible panic attacks, sleeplessness, throat burning, digestion problems, strong fatigue and even heart problems(strong and fast beatrate all the time).

I couldn't figure out where all this comes from, doctors told me it's a psychic problem, blah blah, when i stopped the medication(omeprazole), the "psychic" problem suddenly diassapeared. It was horrible.

  • I had acid reflux for 10 years, was a real nightmare and had a real effect on my quality of life. Last month I had a new procedure called the linx, that and with a changed diet I feel a new person. In my opinion this will become the standard procedure in a few years time. I was in hospital for an over night stay and was up and around easily within a week. Now a month on I am fully recovered with no reflux. If anyone in the UK wants to know about this procedure then drop me a message.

  • I had this surgery about a week ago and Im only 17! Im not over weight or anything it's just that my family has a strong history of acid reflux and plus I had a hital hernia causing the reflux. They lie when they say it don't hurt and plus I can't eat any real food yet!!!!!!! T_T

  • @tlspice15

    I had mine when I was 11. >.>

  • @xxSunnySmilesxx what age are you now? is it still working until now?

  • @xxSunnySmilesxx

    15. and yes it still is.

  • i have acid reflux and i been on netxium for a month but helping some symptoms but not my real problem. Icant sleep at night i feel to much pressure in my stomach and sometimes my heart increases a bit and it sucks so much. i been for bloods tests, ECG's, and i just went for x rays so i still have to review that with my doctor and i wonder if surgery is required for me? if medication is not really helping that much

  • How interesting :)

  • wtf am I watching?

  • that me just after my second op

  • thats me now getting my second op in march to undo the wrap i had done a year ago

  • OMG it's just like sewing clothes! I have acid reflux and I took medicine to reduce the amount of acid my stomach produced because my LES was damaged and I had an ulcer. I can't believe they can just go in their and touch anything they want without damaging it! COOL!

  • i have now been told i have to have other op next year to undo the first op any one had that done please let me know how thay got on

  • i would not suggest it at all. i have issues swallowing water. i am bloated all the time. i look 5 months pregnant. i hate myself for thinking it was a good idea.

  • i have been like this from the day i had my op i might have to have the op again

  • i had this op on the 26th april of this year 6 mouth after it i am being feed by a feeding tube as my stomache will not let me eat food i just keep on bein sick

  • I had this done in Detroit about 6 years ago, and now I'm having full on symptoms again. I don't know what happened.

  • @dutybugg I had this done in 2004 and am also starting to have recurring symptoms!

  • @dutybugg Maybe a stitch broke?

  • I'm 10 years old and thinking of doing this First I have to get bloodwork and then A CT (Cat) Scan... I don't know if those are the samthing haha Looks gross Hey I'm really young to have this done.. I have really really senceative I'm a girl :\ The only part I am really worried about is the IV! Lol :] Is is safe..? My parents asked me if I wanted to do this I said yeah. But I HATE taking medicene! I hate it And plus I have asthma so it makes my acid reflux more bad T_T

  • I'm 15 years old and I'm having this done on the fourteenth.. I'm soooo excited to have my reflux gone for good.

  • crude replacement for your upper esophogeal sphincter, as when you eat the stomach expands, and the idea is the wrapped and sewn portion closes off the esophegus so you don't reflux. They can do either a half-wrap, partial or full wrap on the stomach.

So that's the theory, but I'd like to hear more from people who have actually had the surgery, and if it is worth it.

  • A lot of the other antacids and drugs were hopeless, either didn't work very well or in some cases made it worse.

I'm lining up for laproscopic surgery this year, I hope I don't have to take a pill every day and that the surgery comes off the way it is supposed to. They pull the hernia back through the diaphragm, then they sew the diaphragm up to prevent the stomach sliding back up there again and forming a hernia. Then they wrap the top of the stomach around itself. This forms a somewhat

  • well its even awesome how thy can work with a that small equipment just by watchin a camera ._.!!!

  • I had mine done three years ago and my throat still burns!!! I'm also still on strong medication (kapidex) and i'm also taking two to four pepcide completes a day. i'm not farting and Doctors tell me that the nisson was done very well. I think it does almost nothing and isn't working properly.

  • @toadsnmarshmellows The best anti-GERD drug in my opinion is Pariet (Rabeprazole Sodium). I have severe reflux, and this stuff keeps it well under control as a proton-pump inhibitor PPI, I've been on it for 4 years or so. Have to take it almost every day however. Only negative side effects is if you stop taking it, stomach cramps and the acid reflux returns very quickly. Important to only take 1 tablet as it dilutes your stomach acid, so it takes longer to digest things too.

  • @shades2 I should mention, Pariet is not cheap ($32 AUD a box for 1- 1 1/2 months), but it is worth it, and does it's job extremely well.

  • @toadsnmarshmellows Get your doctor to prescribe Pariet. It is a proton-pump inhibitor (PPI), it really works because it causes your stomach to produce less acid and stops the burn in the esophegus.

  • @toadsnmarshmellows do you experience hoarseness?

  • @sistagirl488deleted Sometimes. I sing and my voice is in really good shape so I don't think the gerd effects it that much. It's just always there

  • Had mine done 5 days ago do have Barrets...I had to have my Gallbladder removed anyway so the Surgeon did both at the same time he did a great Job! I was up walking the same day (not really fast though :)

So far no issues except I cant eat much anymore and have to eat very slow...hope it works :) Hopefully NO MORE REFLUX!!!

  • hogwash

i say no to surgery. this stuff can be cured at home. problem is i dont known how

i say no to surgery. this stuff can be cured at home. problem is i dont known how

  • what they dont tell you is that its also nearly impossible to reverse this sugery, they actually cut all the ties that hold your stomach in place, do the surgery inverted and push your stomach up in the chest area, it causes horrible gass and you cannot belch. swallowing is hard for the first few months. and if you go back for a problem they want to cut you wide open splitting your abdominal muscles and they never grow back tother. causing your stomach to look huge.

  • DO NOT HAVE THIS SURGERY, sorry for yelling. I feel such pity for those who elect to have this surgery. it has runied my life. it left me with horrible gas bloating, causes my stomach to empty too early. dumping syndrom. it has ruined my love life because moving around too much causes the vagel nerve to be overstimulated causing me to ahve to go to the bathroom. I cannot do ANYTHING that i was able to do before and im only 40 yrs old. I used to be so active and an exercize buff. but no more.

  • I have been diagnosedwith silent reflux, struggle to talk and breathe at times and im forever coughing my voicebox burns and i get pains in my lungs, I'm on medication but it seems to do nothing, should i go for this operation?

  • @TheUKDebate Not sure where you are from. I live in Chicago. I had the surgery done in 2003. It is almost 6 years and the worst thing is I probably fart 100 times a day. NO joke. Besides that, I have diarrhea at least once a week, but I've forgotten what heartburn feels like. Once in awhile i have a pain in my stomach, but that may be nothing. I have had upper GI 3 years ago, and so far so good. IF you hate farting, don't do it.

  • @TheUKDebate Only in EXTREME GERD should you do this. I would try herbal remedies. Talk to a doctor of Eastern medicine, and eating better may fix it.

  • @nestosolo Eating better can help, but won't fix the core mechanical issue of a hernia in your chest.

Avoid the following (at night / evening) as they aggravate this badly by causing more stomach acid:

    1. Alcohol (this can aggravate ulceration too very badly, throwing up blood etc.)

    2. Chocolate.

    3. Peppermint

    4. Spicy foods.

Now in saying that, if you have this all during the day and you're walking around to stimulate digestion, I have found you can eat anything you want.

  • I had this in October...took until about may until I was back to normal...and I'm 21

  • how long does the surgery usually take?

  • if I remember correctly mine took about 6 hours..but I had a small complication during surgery

  • i see, but it usually takes less time than that right? how are you feeling today? the reason i am asking is because i am around your age (24) and most likely will do it because it is burning my esophagus

  • I had the surgery done on my 21st birthday...I think it's supposed to last 4 to 5 hours...

  • I'm 26 and my specialist just have suggested I should think about the fundoplication. I've got significant GERD disease since some months and the Omeprazole 40 mg doesn't really help. Do you think your surgery has made the difference? :-)

  • Comment removed

  • It's been a year since I had mine done and it has made a HUGE difference..once you are fully recovered and can eat again you will notcie the difference when you eat sleep drink. I highly recommend it

  • @bballstarben14 That's one of the biggest things for me. I don't think I've had a decent night's sleep since I was 22, or 14 years. Even on the reflux drug Pariet (which works very well). I think the reason is you still get stomach acid (even though it's dilute) coming back up the esophagus which interrupts decent sleep. It feels like you have been waging a battle with yourself. Nothing worse than waking up each morning and being actually tired from this.

  • This looks really painful. I don't know how anyone can recover from big surgeries like this.

  • was pain full still is after 2 weeks.. they say it can take 6 months to recover

  • Im 18 yrs old and having this surgury in three weeks , i would just like to know about any compliations and how the recovery went please message me back

  • how did it go

  • It went pretty okay alot to adjust to and have to have resurgury because my case was an over active stomach. which was why i had reflux as bad as i did. its a long recovery

  • if i may ask, how did you test for the over active stomach?

and how was it overactive? did it produce too much acid?

    did the fundopliation help?

  • @Kuner1 u can ask for a stomach emptying test to see if your stomach is too active or not active enough...
