the autos have a speed limiter not shure about the manuals, also a cav with the ecotec will do 220 (takes a while to get there) all that is needed is $10 in parts to disable speed limiter

Not terribly fast, but its definitely not the slowest cavalier I've seen. I can't really tell, the audio quality is too low, so I'm not sure if its the 2.2 2200 or the 2.2 Ecotec. Judging its speed, I would wager its the Ecotec, but lower mileage 2200s do decently too.....

And I'm simply telling you, there's a difference between a redline (which is at 5500rpm on *all* 97-05 Cavaliers) and a fuel cutoff which is either 6000 or 6400rpm. What transaxle is hooked up to it has no effect on this value.

the ecotec is superior to the DOHC which is dual over head cam i have the 2.2 ecotec in standard and i work 2.4 DOHCs yea the 2.4 ecotec would be faster than my car
