  • The Castlevania series was based mostly on Nintendo for the past 2-3 decades. This theme has went up and down many times, changing pitch and tempo... And oddly, my favorite version of this theme, followed by the original from the first Castlevania, is this version... On a Genesis... Genesis was and still is awesome, and so is the NES and SNES... So Nintendo fanboys STFU, because Sega gave us Sonic. And we all love Sonic.

  • Someone please do a djent cover of this song

  • @TechNMusic no

  • simons Qwest

    avgn

  • Thanks for posting this. Brought back a lot of good memories from one of my favorite franchise entries. :)

  • 5 on BGM and 73 on SFX to unlock Vampire Killer, Bloody Tears and Beginning. You'll hear them when you get your whip/spear at max level.

  • is this the same as castle 4?

  • @SOUTHWESTENZ Nope. :)

  • @Robloxian201 i see now, i had a go on bloodlines, why does it have loads of awesome features that arnt on any other any other game. like character select and more powerful throwing weapons. seriously tho that guy with a spear gives the game so much more depth!

  • this song is so bad ass you need cheat codes to unlock it on bloodlines

  • need this for my collection after hearing this song yo

  • sounds pretty good for a mega drive sound?!?!?!?!?! mega drive was like the muts nuts for music...emerald hill zone...do i need open my mouth again?

  • @scottybo not to mention the strike series. mega drive is very bass heavy witch is why sonic music sounds so brilliant. but i think we can all agree that this isn't the best version of the song. too much drum.

  • @scottybo Emerald Hill zone, that song is permanently etched in my brain!

  • @KaizerSozak2008 and so it should be!!!

  • look carefully at this game you will notice its a masterpiece and its soundtrack is very good but has anyone had a thought of swapping the snes soundchip over the gennis i would laugh if it actruely worked

  • loved this tune... thanx for the upload wish i could drum it

  • Genesis had some great soundtracks.

  • I didn't like Bloodlines at all.

  • @eunicron ain't nothing 'cron' about you son.

  • sounds actually pretty good for a genesis/megadrive sound

  • @Flodder450

I think Doom is the only game that has crappy music quality for the Sega Genesis. Atleast that I know of. I haven't seen a genesis game with bad music quality besides the FPSs.

  • @rockinsparzy105 Zero Tolerance had some decent music.

  • @Flodder450 It's perfect for Genesis/Megadrive style 16 bit.

  • this reminds me of street fighter

  • ehh

  • How do i get the game to play this song?!?! I've had this game for 10 years and never heard it in the gameplay!!!

  • it plays when you pick up a secret powerup or something....

you can also hear it in the sound test.

  • You have to input a code at the sound test menu if i recall correctly.

  • On option screen play BGM (Background Music) 05 and play SE (sound effects)

    073. Make sure that these music settings are set when you leave the options

screen. Press start to start the game. When your standard weapon is powered up

to level 4, you will hear the old Castlevania Music until you get hit.

  • this theme kicks ass.

  • COOL

  • ok, its not THAT good.

its good, but not better than the SNES one.

  • I agree. It's more or less a consensus that the SNES kicked the Genesis's ass in the sound department. They're both fantastic systems, however.

  • why cant everyone think like you.

    :D

    they both were great systems.

  • I was once a fanboy, and I was raised on the SNES. But over the years, I've realized that there are just too many good games out there to worry about what system/company they happen to be on.

  • Castlevania's a perfect example of that. Two of the best Castlevania games of all time were on Genesis/SNES, but they were COMPLETELY separate games.

  • @mirokyu i agree with this, but i will also stand firm and say the SNES is the best system to EVER come out. And it probably will be the best system to ever come out for a LONG time

  • @mirokyu SNES had a better sound chip yes but come on. Genesis always seemed to have better compositions. Streets of Rage's music still hits me to this day. Ecco the Dolphin as well, it had some of the most effective music of the era. Toe Jam and Earl was great. There's no reason for people to say SNES blows it out of the water. Genesis may have had the lower end sound chip but, I believe it was used more effectively in alot of cases. The only time shortcomings are noticeable are multi-releases.

  • @ZsHouseProductions Both systems had wonderful compositions. Even the NES had some amazing music written for it - and its sound chip is inferior to both the SNES and Genesis.

  • @ZsHouseProductions +1, not to mention Earthworm Jim soundtrack, that was waaaay better on Genesis than it was on Super NES.

  • It's really hard to beat the Vampire Killer rendition in Super Castlevania IV. The only ones I like as much are in Circle of the Moon, Judgment, Lament of Innocence, and Rondo of Blood.

  • Kick ass.
