Weird. Get inside and it looks like a GM car in a lot of ways.. same steering wheel, key switch, same glove box lock and the buzzer sounds exactly like the one my 88 Chevy Celebrity had.
Does ANYONE have a FORD PINTO or CHEVY VEGA? I have a PT Cruiser for sale with only 37000 miles, car is in perfect condition, will trade you outright for either of those cars, no questions asked.
evreytime i see a grand wagoneer in nice shape and still driving I get happy..this one needs to be bought by somebody who sees it as a classic and is interested in restoring her
man.. u suck on trying to start a car.. look at the damn batt. gauge.. it is showing the batt. ur using dead... no wonder the relay is just clicking....
They are not all Junkers! Like this one, they are just neglected old cars:( it makes me sad that you say junker. Faggot rich boy doesn't know true Americana
It sounds like this thing has a bad starter. Also, it needs more juice, the battery gauge on the far right of the gauges needs to be clear of the red.
Why is it a GM ignition key? AMC bought GM and Ford parts for years. They could not afford to develop their own stuff. My '80 CJ has a GM steering column and alternator, plus a Ford ignition system and carburetor.
I swear I watch this video every couple of months and everytime I get chills from the part with Eminem. It's really symbolic twords something like the Wagoneer, It'll be one of the first songs I play when I get to working on the "Luxary's" of mine
@b67717 OMG stop hating on the fricken PT Cruiser!! I'm so sick of the stereotyping here with that car. I happen to drive one and I like this video. I've got news for ya, if you take care of it, it will be a great car, cause that's what I do. I change the oil when I'm supposed to and I'm crazy about keeping the body in good shape. It's not a crappy car at all, it's an excellent daily driver, unique and different styling, and fun to drive for a 4 cylinder. I bet you haven't even driven one.
@b67717 I will admit that the interior is mostly plastic but at least it's a stylish interior (mine's a 2006). Other thing I don't like about it is the bottoms of the seats are supportive to the point where they are a little tight if you sit in them for a while. If PT's were that bad then why did they sell so well? I guess your opinion isn't valid. I've had no problems with mine so far but I will always take great care of it for as long as I own it. I enjoy driving it every day.
@pivotboy63 Well I'd love to fix this thing up if I ever bought it cause it's a shame it's in such poor condition. However, have you ever even driven a PT Cruiser? I've driven several different car brands like Ford, Nissan, Toyota, Chevy, BMW, Chrysler, and Jaguar. All different cars of different sizes and such. The PT Cruiser is one of my favorite cars to drive cause it's so easy to drive and I enjoy driving it every day. Looks aren't everything, the car has to be drive-able.
Seen betterr days? That thing for the most part is pretty clean! That sound you heard sounds like the starter solenoid. Wether it be a motor or a stater. that thing should not die in a junk yard. at least give it dignity to have it rot in someone's home, for whom the owner would restore someday..
This is one of my dream cars! I first saw it on the great outdoors and fell in love with it :) I found one for sale luckily :D hopefully I can get it and repaint it red :)
@YiJustin558 it actually came out before the first range rover back in the 70s and was the first ever "SUV" (luxury 4x4) which soon was followed by the range rover, would have one of these over a rangy any day
you need to sell this to someone that will restore it to its former glory. its sad seeing that just sit there. things like that Daewoo belong there, that Jeep not so much
On the door handle, we have a button that if you push, opens the driver's door. Keep in mind though, you need to also pull the door out once the button has been pushed.
you need a new starter solenoid mine went out and it made the same noise put one in and it works fine now except the alternator just went out, maybe i'll get ahead one day
It may have turned over if you actually replaced the battery... connecting a good one with a bad one won't work as well because the old battery will draw on the charge of the good one. The engine made that noise because it wasn't getting enough power.
It's a real shame that people didn't take care of these and ditched them. I bet if they took care of it and kept it clean it would still be running. 112k miles isn't that much.
Are these no longer made? I was looking into cars and the Jeep Grand Wagoneer is SWEET! But, I would prefer one on the newer side. Is that not possible??
Why do peeps fuck up thier stuff like that,,it's got to be the starter the wagoneer like this was the flagship of jeeps back in the late 80's i used to work at a amc/jeep/renault back then and the smell these babies brand new was awesome
I love the SJ Wagoneer we had 3 when I was growing up. 1) 1974 Wagoneer, 2) 1979 Wagoneer Limited and 3) 1988 Grand Wagoneer. All 3 performed greatly but, they fell victim to rust and had to be sold.
the horn will work when u start it weird right i need that truck for parts of mine plz and parts for back tail gate and widows we hit a deer it didnt hurt the truck only the grill
How long.....'til the point of no return!?!? lol Kansas playing on the radio. Badass song and cool video of the Jeep. I don't see why someone would junk something so nice.
Starter Solenoid is what's making that noise, Either the solenoid is bad ($15) or there isn't enough juice to start the car mine did the same thing when my battery was dead beyond revival. I guarantee you that motor is still good unless it was driven without oil or something =)
That is a pretty sweet truck... I would take it if I could... I dont know what has been done with it by now, but a nice v6 swapped in would do wonders! those 360's are horrible for gas mileage and dont exactly have the best power either due to emissions restrictions and all.
@randomhero713 I absolutely agree about the potential. I've had two Grand Wagoneers ('84 & '88) and when fixed up they are absolutely glorious vehicles.
@Hemihappy no doubt the commander is a great suv my cousin has had two of them and the are pretty good off road but the grand wagoneer had a higher quality interior and was more durable. both are great trucks but if given the opportunity i would take the grand wagoneer over the commander unless the commander had a Hemi then that would be different story
@randomhero713 I totally agree. I actually owned a Commander Limited with the Hemi. That thing would flat out run. I would kill to have a wagoneer just to play around with.
@randomhero713 I know, this is back when Jeep was owned by AMC Motors, see what happens when Chrysler buys out a car company? Puts in bad transmissions and poor quality interiors, wonder what will happen to Fiat?
Other way around. Have you ever sat in either a Chrysler or a Fiat car? Apparently not. Next time be sure what you're talking about before you comment on something.
Maybe a new intake system, a fuel pump, new fuel lines and some new sleeves would get it running. The air filter looked brand new, which suprised me as well as the power windows and such
It's been sitting for years. The carb is dry. Prime it with some gas in the barrels and it would have started I'm sure. Those old 360's (5.9's) are some tough old engines.
Is there any chance that you would sell any parts off of this?

Maybe a new intake system, a fuel pump, new fuel lines and some new sleeves would get it running. The air filter looked brand new, which suprised me as well as the power windows and such

It's been sitting for years. The carb is dry. Prime it with some gas in the barrels and it would have started I'm sure. Those old 360's (5.9's) are some tough old engines.
