I would say rooney is much better at club level but both Podolski and Klose have scored more than twice as many goals each than rooney has at international level. Klose has more goals for Germany than any English striker has for england in history. Thats fact.

Ballacks first international was 1996, but he didnt play again until 1999 when he joined the 1st 11. Many people inc me think rooney is overated. At club level rooney is better, but international Klose and Poldi are better statistically.

Also, West Germany lost their penalty shoot out against the Czechs in the Final of the 1976 European Championships. But that was the only time the Germans have lost a penalty shoot out.
