  • Sweet. I'd rock that.

  • Very clean 86 kx 250. I had one about 10 years ago. Thing was crazy fast. She had billet aluminum triple clamps, pro circuit pipe and silencer, black excel rims with gold talon hubs, suspension work done by pro circuit. I still wish I had her

  • clean bike!

  • that kx is in realy good condition for an 86

  • my '89 KX has the same problem with the kicker, but it only happens sometimes.

  • @motocrossXisXawesome same here i got a 1989 kx 250 2 stroke off my uncle as my 2nd bike to trash on and like after say every 2-3 months the kick would put enough pressure on so it took alot longer to start but it still started up and after like a 20 minute ride it was sweet again....do u know what courses this?

  • Do DG silencers for 86' 250 kawa's also fit on a 85' ??

  • @Floriskamstra I dont see why they shouldnt

  • @wingking077 where did you buy those stickers??

  • @wingking077 there stock

  • @Floriskamstra

the pro circuit 88 fits nice on a 85

  • i just picked up the same bike 2 day and some times it feels like somethings not catching when i kick it some times and some times it will catch and the bike will turn over can u help me idk what the problem is and how mutch would the parts run me

  • @soggytoast89 Your kickstart idle gear and pawl ar5e worn, if you buy the part's brand new it will cost you around $240, if you buy off ebay you can get a complete kickstart shaft with the idle gear and pawl and spring's and replace it as a unit for around $80.

  • you have a good camera!

  • NIIICEE bike, Dude! It's in real nice shape! Did you do a restoration on it, or is it all original? Wish you'd post MORE vidz of you starten, ridin & roostin on it! You're LUCKY 2 have such a nice bike! :)

  • what does kips mean on the head of the motor my 89 kx 125 says that also and i dont no what it means

  • @Diamondback31 Kawasaki Integrated Powervalve System

  • @Diamondback31 my 89 kx250 says the same thing

  • my first bike was an '85. looks great

  • i have a 1986 kdx 200 that is not near as clean but its fast and very reliable

  • just fixed the same problem on my 89 kx250

  • i have the same problem with my 84 kx 250 its a common problem with those bikes

  • dude gorgeous bike way to keep a classic alive! mad props on this green machine

  • haha learn to read the descripiton nice bike i have one but i blew the shock out jumping so i got a 2003 ktm 250 the but i still think the kx is better

  • i have the same problem with my 84 kx250

  • nice lookin 87

  • Nice bike bro.. Looks very clean for the age that she is :)

  • my 93 has same kick start prob

  • that things like mint. nice bike for the age!

  • learn how to kick start build the compression up with ur foot slowly then

    kick it

  • learn to read the description

  • Its not like you have to get it to tdc to start it anyways.

  • @wingking077 my bike has the same thing, its a '91 KDX250. If you didnt kick like a spode you wouldnt have a problem with it. push the kickstarter down slow untill you can feel the compression, then kick.

  • @nightriderdave haha owned!

  • very nice kawa

  • this kx model along with the 88-89 models is one of the bikes i hope to own or atleast ride in my life. nothing beats the 80's 2 stroke kwakas, or 80's 2 strokes in general.

  • i sudgest you just dont kick it too hard, my friends 89 kx125's kicker is slipping too!

  • wingking - Your bike is in mint condition.

How long have you had it? Have you used it much?

  • the ratchet spring doesnt work on my 89 too lol

  • this bike is so clean!!!

  • thats not a ratchet its called a return spring the one on my kx 500 went its an eazy fix

  • no, your wrong, its a ratchet spring; I had to buy the part, and have replaced it and changed it many times.

  • the return spring makes the kickstart return, the ratchet spring pushes the ratchet into the kickstart idler gear, i had the same problem asthis guy on my kx 250 but mines a 90.

  • i have an 86 where do u get parts for these bikes??

  • ebay!

  • ive got a 1985 kx250 almost as clean but not quite. Iam missing the front caliper and master. What are these bikes worth? I picked mine up for $300 and rebuilt it so now it runs great and has tons of power.

  • Anyone know what that gold part is on the underside of the swing arm partially covering the chain & sprocket to rear? Some kind of chain lube mechanism? Could do with summit like that for my bike chain as i hate cleaning/lubing my chain! But also dislike those Scot oilers!

  • its a chain block, basically the chain rolls on it when the tension is loose.

  • @actrapide

lol thats the chain guide. and its not that hard to lube ur chain just clean it with a wire brush and get that spray on chain lube

  • Sweet, Sweet looking bike.

  • looks like it just rolled out the factory

  • Sick bike I got a 89 but in not as good of condition

  • I have that problme with the spring in the kicker with my kx, how is it to change it? And nice bike

  • not to hard, just lay your bike on the opposite side your working on or drain oil, drain coolant, pull of side cover where clutch is, and get to work, about a 1 hr. job if you know what your doing

  • I need to get some footage of MY old Kawasaki. This baby is a 1967 model, with rotary valve and straight stinger. I rode the hell out of it last weekend; it's got a tremendous amount of torque.

  • i had an 86 kx 250 it had balls

  • they are a power house to control, but I like it, and the power band...holy shit; hold on!

  • god thats in nice shape

  • wow man she's in wicked sweet shape! bravo! I might be getting one(crossing my fingers) what can you tell me about it? handling? suspension? I would suppose the big 4 makes, are very close to the same all in all?

  • Stock set up is nothing exciting, still fun to whip out the classic now and then...

  • I like the bike alot

but your face should be stomped on like that kick starter let it grab man!

  • you have to kick this bike real hard and fast to get it to fire, also this was before I replaced the ratchet spring, if you knew anything about the old kx's you would know you had to replace the ratchet spring offen because it dosnt put tension on the ratchet, which results in skipping, it now no longer skips, untill the spring weakens again...

  • sorry about being harsh but i have a friend that stomps on his honda 250sx like that and i could ring his neck

  • Nice bike! I'm working an an 89 model right now. Gotta love the old Kawasakis!
