REMEMBER this?.... HOW could ANYONE with an ear for perfect British pop FORGET it?.Almost as good as the glorious S A N C T U A R Y, the latter heard best at extreme volume on BIG old fashioned stereo speakers. LOVE IT!!!!
I loved this band! I got the album from a friend who worked at a radio station, and I could never understand why they did not get popular in the United States. Really, if pure crap like wham and culture club could hit it, why not New Musik?!
the 80's were all about statements and rites of passage...not that they're absent now but more predominant then........it's like evolution jumped up a notch lol
In 1979-80 when 'New Musik' arrived, i could'nt believe how Bloody Good they were. The use of synths/regular instmnts, along with totally unique & original lyrics, a different way of looking at things... The line 'World of Water, you can Drown but you Still Survive' kind of reminds me of this modern, sometimes suffocating world we live in...
Johnny Boy Oh, the golden days of happy, harmonic, uplifting melodies. Always loved this one. Not heard it in an age and forgot it was New Musik. Korgis anyone?
Brings back many memories of my brother who died in 1991 at 34...he loved music and I remember him listening to New Musik....World of Water, On Islands.....thank you for posting this!
When I saw "anyone remember this?" I thought it might be this song. An old friend of mine Wendy, played this for me and I loved it in the early 80's. He had a long braid that he'd wrap around his neck as he played drums in a punk, new wave band in Hollywood, Tami on vocals. Good dude but something made him check out....So sad. Thank you so much for the post, it wasn't on here some time ago.Blessings to you bro
My God, this is an early prediction of global warming and the sea levels rising, and I didn't realise this when I first heard this song as a 12 year old in 1980. It's so
Got the album it`s great, full of good stuff,Iparticulaly like `On Islands` which I made a video for which I have not posted on you tube yet, prob use one of my other channels as a test ..hehehe
i remember them, a Tooting band, i was working in a music shop (Cascade Music)with the drummer Phil at the time, big hit "living by numbers", used as advert for Timex, Tony the singer, sonwriter kept all the royalities for it, pissing off the others and the band, they broke up..
Billy, I don`t remember this, but it sounds funny and fresh. Good to see these wonderful warm pictures at this cold season, makes me want to take a shower, lol.
