this song...... Johnny learned to imitate 'Big joe turner when he sang...Im daddy ...daddy... Daddy rollin stonnnnne! which was more interesting . He did little new years shows with phillepe (sp) "studio 10" which wer like a regular school dance......anybody remember them ?
these shows were about six in number, they began at hurrahs, johnny is putting together the "So Alone" Album hense, the song "daddy rolling stone" this in Maxs was as loud as arieal bombardment .but Johnny as side man to Phillepe was cooler than cool. it looked like something that might go on until someone photgraphed the band,Johnny we think, saw a power struggle.
CAN SOMEONE POST THE STUDIO VERSION OF THIS SONG BY JOHNNY THUNDERS, STEVE MARRIOTT, AND PHIL LYNOTT. IT IS BY FAR THE BEST VERSION I'VE EVER HEARD OF THIS SONG AND IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES. STEVE MARRIOTT STEALS THE SHOW WITH HIS VOICE, HARMONICA, AND GUITAR WORK.
Wow! Never thought I'd see a video of this! I was at this show, and it's too bad the sound quality is so crappy on this clip, as it was a really kickass show, surprisingly tight with Thunders playing much better than usual (if memory serves, JT did two nites in a row with 'em). I took pics at the time - still have 'em.
Philippe, je viens de terminé le livre aujourd'hui. Bravo.
