Bassa sings the same version as his recording here but claims he was miffed that the two bridges that Pomeranz sings ( 'Read every book ... etc. ) were cut from the record for 'timing' reasons ( see Songfacts ) and his subsequent performances included the bridges. Not so here - anyone know where there is a full version ? I also prefer his opening lyrics ( Doctor my woman ... ) to the Pomeranz/Carpenters version
