  • can you preview before you load?

  • @dimeclipent only in the software

  • @SoundsAndGear ok thanks just got mine...this thing is insane

  • @dimeclipent yes it is :)

  • hey does anybody know a good dj scratch sound I can use?

  • So you cant import vsts or samples in the maschine you got to use what it comes with and if so can you aleast use the maschine as a plugin or a vst3

  • @TonyosBaby yes you can import your own sounds or load vsts and yes you can use it as a plugin

  • what about bypassing the maschine software and controlling your daw with maschine? is that possible?

  • @STATUSthesleepers yes, you just put it in midi controller mode instead of maschine mode.

  • @SoundsAndGear but when you do that, i heard you have to use your mouse and keyboard for things like stopping, playing and recording the track and adding new tracks, you cant make logic do all that through maschine

  • @STATUSthesleepers no, you can't load logic tracks from maschine as a controller in logic, it's not a logic controller, when you use it as a midi controller you can only do things that are midi controllable in logic. Yes you can map the transports for start/stop, you can make the buttons arm your tracks, your knobs can control volume and pan, etc, so that they are all accessible from the controller, someone gave you some bad information. It works just like any other midi controller in this way.

  • @SoundsAndGear oh my bad i kinda missed some shit my question, i also meant chopping the sampe and sequencing thru maschine bypassing the plugin and going straight into logic, but i guess you cant do that

  • @STATUSthesleepers You can set maschine to receive the midi data from the logic sequencer. So you would chop the sample up inside of Machine, but instead of hitting record on the Maschine sequencer you hit record in logic and send the midi notes to the maschine software like you would any other plugin.

  • @SoundsAndGear damn thats dope, so once you have your tracks laid out in the process you just explained what if you want to change tracks edit midi and click record and undo and all that can you do it using the maschine hardware or do you have to go into your daw using your mouse and keyboard

  • @STATUSthesleepers what you are talking about doing is just using Maschine as a sound module, recording all your midi data in Logic, so Maschine isn't controlling your undo and editing features, Logic is. So yes you would have to use your mouse in keyboard in that way. However you can also record everything in Maschine and just drag the audio or midi into Logic when you're done.

  • @SoundsAndGear word, i appreciate all the help man, peace

  • @SoundsAndGear word thanks for the info, noone gave me that info, i was askin mysef

  • @STATUSthesleepers no problem, well you said you "heard" that you have to use your mouse to control recording of logic, stopping, etc, when using Maschine as a midi controller. I assumed you didn't hear that from yourself? It's all good, glad to help!

  • can you prevew your sounds by sing a button on the controller before loading the sound?

  • @STATUSthesleepers no there is no preview only next/previous for autoloading, preview is a request many of us have made multiple times. Hopefully they add it in the future.

  • is it possible to use maschine without the hardware component.. or at least the samples that com wiht it in like kontackt or wav form

  • @darkblitzrz8 you don't have to have your controller hooked up to use it, but you can't buy the software without the controller as they go together. The samples are not in kontakt format, they are waves, so once you have it installed you can use them in your other software.

  • @andylowe14 lol....I hear ya man. I think it's like anything, it's a tool, you could use Maschine with the neko :) Since it's basically your computer/controller all in one, I don't think they are in competition.

If they were 64bit machines I probably would have one of the lower end versions. But you are right, Maschine is dope!

  • Whats up bro! I have been doing all my sequencing in Maschine and then exporting (drag and drop) as an audio file but what I noticed is that its a little harder to edit it the way I wanted to, so what do I need to do to drag and drop as a midi file. I understand about switching the from audio to midi by clicking on the group arrow tab, but how do I get the sounds from Maschine into my daw to match up on the midi notes I just exported?!! Thanks Man!!

  • @prettdboy you will have to go into sound midi batch settings and enable the groups to receive midi. I don't usually drag/drop midi myself I'll have to play around with it a bit

  • Last but not (I said that aout three questions ago! lol) If I connect a midi keyboard in the maschne and I have a sample on one of the pads will that sample map itself out on my midi keyboard so that I could play different notes with that sample without changing tempo?! Like, in the NI video with Needlz, he had a sound that he sampled on one pad but then he was playing that sound in chords on his keyboard! How do I do that?!

  • @prettdboy any sound you load onto a pad will automatically be mapped across your keys :) It's a dope way to make new instruments too, with single notes. It's the same as putting your pads in "keyboard" mode. But it does it by default when you have a keyboard hooked up. Just load up a sample on a pad, and play the keys, it will be automatically mapped across the keys.

  • @SoundsAndGear

INCREDIBLE!!!! I'm copping a midi cable tomorrow!! Maschine is THE BEST!!

  • @prettdboy hahahahahaha lol

  • oh, is there a count in as well?! Like if I want it to count in 2 bars before I record, how do I do that?! (Then I'm all set!) lol)

  • @prettdboy shift + record will give you a 1 bar count in

  • Alright, I'm in there like swim wear!! (lol) Thank Bro!!! MASCHINE IS THE BEST THING I HAVE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!

  • @prettdboy I believe it man lol....I love that joint

  • Thanks man! Last question, when you transfer either audio or midi by drag and dropping , how come it doesn't sync with your host software?! For instance, if you record a 4 bar loop and quantize it how come it doesn't transfer over to the host daw even if the host has the same settings?! Or is there something I'm missing? I'm finding myself having to warp (I use ableton too) the audio in order to get it right.

  • @prettdboy make sure you enable "loop optimize" before you do it :) That should fix it for ya. It's on the export settings menu I think, I can't remember off the top of my head I set it once and haven't looked back since lol.

  • Oh while I'm at it....How do you sample from a turntable?!

  • First off, I wanna apologize because I thought I had subscribed to you but I didn't , so I just did! okay, now with the good Shtuff !! - MASCHINE IS RIDICULOUS!!! HOLY CRAP THAT THING IS A FREAKIN BEAST!!! I MOS DEFINITELY DO NOT REGRET SWAPPING THE APC 40 FOR MASCHINE!! MAN, HOW COME YOU DIDNT TELL ME IT WAS THIS DOPE! LOL - THANKS BRUH!!!

  • @prettdboy yeah I feel ya man! lol

  • @SoundsAndGear hook the turntable up to your computer's audio input and set maschine to listen to that input.

  • Whats Good Bruh?!! I just copped the NI Maschine today instead of the APC 4, and I just wanted to know if you can layer drum samples as if it were battery?! And can you process the sounds with effects such as compression and so forth in Maschine or do you pretty much have to do it in your host? Btw, I made my decision on Maschine because that New Update for Maschine is KRAZZZY!! (Version 1.5) Prior to the update, I thought Maschine was a piece of crap because it was so limited.

  • @prettdboy you can layer using the "add to map" feature from the hardware, or by adding to the sample map for a pad in the software. Yes you can add fx and such inside Maschine, it has some built in. The update is definitely dope and adds some new features but it was not that limited before the update, they just added some better ways to work with it :) It's dope.

  • how about letting us actually hear the sounds lol

  • @downyclown i have plenty other videos showing the sounds...this is specifically for what it says, how to browse the sounds from the hardware

  • can i sample internal from i tunes? or just from things that are in maschine???

  • you can sample from whatever you want, if your soundcard can send audio from itunes into maschine you can sample it. Sampling into maschine is dependent on your soundcard/audio interface features...

it's pretty unlimited on what you can sample into it

  • ok thx for the answer. imma get maschina in 2 weeks i think first i got to sell my 2500.

do you got a myspace where i can hear some music from you

  • Hey thank you. I had to switch to the onboard card and now it works. Damn im so lost in the flow. Greez

  • that's dope man, keep bangin! and hit me up!

  • Hi Peeps

I got my Maschine Today, but since i installed it, theres no more sound coming out of my speakers. wth...

    maybe someone can help me..

    Thanks and Greez

  • what type of audio interface/sound card are you using? Make sure Maschine didn't take it over or if you haven't setup the sound output in maschine yet make sure you do so.

  • Im using a Creative Soundblaster X-Fi. But i dont know if i have the right output settings. And I cant hear the Music from windows media player or youtube too.

I Reinstalled the Audio Driver.. But nothing changed.

  • I have that one too on my laptop, I also use asio4all driver. Then I just select which interface I want to use inside Maschine.

  • NICE bruh!

  • thanks for checking it bro.

  • is there any way to qet auto tune for free somewhere

please its all i need now..

    Id appreciate the help. Thankyou.

  • Can't help you with that, sorry.

  • google: "gsnap" it a free software!

and good video sounds and gear!

  • Oh is it that free autotune software? My boy told me bout that, I forgot lol, he uses it too.

    thanks for peeping the video

  • Yes'sir! It maybe don't have all the features as the real deal. But hey it's free!

  • Whatever works homie! lol...get ya autotune on lol. If you got an iphone/ipod touch you can download "i am tpain" for 3 bux lol...just sayin, if you like that hahaha. Holla!
