Another reason that I think that Miley takes so much heat for the things that she's done is because so many of her fans are younger and just don't understand, especially about the "Bong Incident". I've been in that type of situation more than once, only it was marijuana, in my case. Peer pressure can be a bitch at that age and it was for me. Did I ever become an addict? I think that it's fine if Miley wants to be a role model, but the fact is that she doesn't owe anyone anything. Hannah Montana was an acting job, not a lifetime commitment. That is one heck of a responsibility to try and put on anyone anyway. Now, if she had children, then that's a different story, but she doesn't.
