Hey i have a 48x36x16 shallow rimless tank and was thinking about led lights came across this and I was wondering if 4 modules would be able to cover it. My only concern is the width of my tank. So do you think 4 modules would work? Thanks
I am looking at adding these lights to my tank. I have a canopy that sits 8.5 inches above the water line. Securing these to the canopy will leave about 6 inches AWL, think that will work out ok?
First and foremost, you have an kick ass set up. I would like to know if these lights putting out a lot of heat...do you use a cooler during the summer?
Also if you have questions i would go to reefcentraldotcom. Then check out the fourms > lighting and fliters > there is alot more data there :D Hope that helps.
Sorry i haven't been on for some time. This is the 48" kit. Its 4 units and you do have to pay for the mounting kit if you want it. As a rule of of light i will do my best to say there is no perfect # to tank size. I can say that im extreemly happy with the 4 units for 48". If cost is a major concern you can start with less then norm and add more if needed.
how are your corals doing am planning to get some LED for my 65g but not sure which one to get am between the ones you have probably 3 of those or if not the ecoxotic panorama 36 for the canopy and probably 2 of those with 2 of the panorama modules
Nice video... Question? Do the lights move once you have them on the stand? It didnt look like you bolted them down to much... Assuming you want to be able to adjust them as you see fit...
Hey data griffin, putting a lot of thought into this lighting system because it works with the Digital Aquatics Computer. I looked on AquaIlluminations sight and they say 1 LED unit per foot but what if the tank is 2 foot wide? will 1 unit cover that? also any idea on how they interact with the Digital Aquatics ALC Module? Advanced thanks.
@ChrisPureownage95 well the spread at the water lvl is how they come up with that #. Yo can raise them up to get more spread. In face I would say you will almost have to so you don't bleach everything. I have WAY too much light. lol

@falconzrock1 yes you should be fine - just make sure they are high enough for the coverage you want

@ianjuarez30 i had MH 250x2 and 4x t5 ho 48". Reduced bill by about 70$/ month because no chiller and AC wasn't on full blast in my loft.

@tcobos Yep I wanted them to move, also they have some play no matter what because they slide on.

@DataGr1ff1n
thanks for the reply, sounds like their powerful enough.
What if the tank is 2 foot wide? would you double the amount of modules?
How many would you suggest on a 6x2x2 tank?
ChrisPureownage95 1 year ago
Just a Note! You will want these lights at least 6" off the top of your tank.
