Yeah, the movie looks as if the storyline is very different, bu I agree with whats been said below about a carbon copy. Thats sort of what the reading is for; you make the movie in your head. I'm hoping its really good! =D I finished the last book, and absolutely loved it.

I loved the book Inkheart, the movie looks good too! Except there isn't much relativeness in the movie and the book. Like Meggie is supposed to have orange hair not blonde, and the storm part and the toto part aren't even in the book! Although, the movie does sound and look quite interesting!

It doesn't seem to be anything like the book. Oh, well. I'm sure it'll be an amazing movie either way. The best thing to do in order to not be disappointed is to just not try to compare the two at all. Try to think of the movie as a completely separate thing.

I'm sure most of you aren't too thrilled with the film not being exactly like the book. I just started reading it and I can tell, by the looks of things...it's very different. I think they wanted to stick with the idea of the books coming to life when reading them idea. It's nice that they got the original author to step in too, otherwise, the film would be no good.

It does look more like InkSpell. I loved these books..! And InkDeath came out more recently. I just got it from the Library. Oh! I can't wait for it to come out :)

Cornelia Funke has written a part of the script so, she know what is important to put in the movie. A movie is always differnt from the book.

Hey im looking for a movie im not sure when it came out though i know it was recent. It had a story about i think 4 kingdoms and different rulers from each one. In one kingdom there was a princess or something and it was about her. I THINK not sure, think it was a bedtime story a father told to his daughter but I cannot remember what it was called or who was in it. If you can tell what it is from my vague discription then please tell me IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY

I'm somewhat against turning books into movies, though I do understand changining a few things so it fits within two hours, but I don't I find it acceptable to leave major things out, or add them in.

It's different from the book, no question, but it completely keeps the spirit, and it doesn't really spill into the other books except that it makes for a far smoother transition between book one and book two than Cornelia Funke made.

I personally hate movies that are a 'carbon copy' of the book, because then, unless your image is identical to the movie, the whole thing is just ruined - book and movie. The way they did it here, you basically get two stories of the one story, in the one spirit.
