Ahhhh I can't get over how stunningly attractive Paul is! Love his intense stare and penetrating eyes, so gorgeous. And he's got so much talent!! wow, obsessed much?
ok but if you ever get a divorce, may I marry his voice next? Seriously though, this version of this song and this particular version by the boys is in my books, the absolutely BEST !! - I really do not think anything could ever top their voices and the strength it exudes. I remember seeing this when it aired all those years ago, it stopped me dead in my tracks, I remember holding my breath even and my friends in the room did the same. It's actually a moment I will never forget. Peace!
OMG!! That was brilliant! It's amazing how they can switch from the bluest of blue comedy to the beautiful harmonies highlighted in this song. They certainly "make this song their own!" (to quote a phrase!)
When I was a mere slip of a child, I used to stay up too late watching the Big Gig. I remember this going to air, it was that kind of moment in my rather small life. Thank you for posting!
Wasn't this the first time they ever sang a 'mainstream' song on The Big Gig? I remember watching it in 1988 or 1989 and everyone was talking the next day about how beautifully they sang
I've heard you and so many others gush about DAAS on the tripod forum for so long but this is the first time I've watched/heard their stuff. Oh. My. Gosh. I think I'm in love!! That was so beautiful!

Song starts at 5:12 but is possibly the best cover of this song EVER.

It's their whole skit from the big gig. They allways did a bit of standup than a song.

Yeah, and it threw everyone. Personally I think they do one of the best versions of Grapevine around (if not the best)
myllamagirl 4 years ago
It sure did throw people - these pottymouthed, offensive young men showed everyone they had the voices of angels.

I know! I actually prefer all their covers to the original...I'm a sucker for a good three part harmony.
