Women do want to leave, but no one wants to help someone whose husband controls the money. How can you leave when there is no place to go, no one to help, when you are too exhausted to function and you are threatened you will be falsely accused of a crime if you seek help.
Domestic violence resources need to greatly improve and police officers need to be educated on how abusive husbands will try to set the victims up for a crime or threaten the women they will do it if they try to seek help.
@broadaorb@broadaorb@broadaorb It is a frightening and trying endeavour to leave a domestic violent environment. Yes, there needs to be more education for not just our police, but also the legal system, the school system, and society as a whole. Just the same, if one remains in an abusive relationship, you as the victim will always be a victim. If you attempt to leave, you have the opportunity to rebuild your life free from control, manipulation, and slow deterioration. A. Soroka
Your video story made me cry. I lost my mother this way and there were no such services available. I truly pray that the abuse will be stopped. Everyone left behind is left with a big whole. We need more videos like this to educate the younger generations.
@poppysocks00 Ending Abuse Media is truly sorry to hear about your loss. No one should ever have to endure this type of pain due to such a senseless type of crime. Through education and awareness this cowardly act will be exposed for what it truly is and victims of abuse will start to heal with the promise of a brighter and healthier future. We totally agree with you and are well aware that "breaking the cycle of abuse" begins by educating the younger generation.
It's great to see someone doing something about this, especially in the GVA. Thank you very much. Keep up the good work and keep making these videos so that one day soon, no one will have to suffer abuse, especially the children.
@D9B1 Thank you for your comment! We at Ending Abuse Media value your feedback. And we couldn't agree more...it is essential that we all contribute in offering the future generations the opportunity to enjoy a childhood filled with peace and innocence and not pain, suffering, or emotional trauma. It is through awareness and knowledge that the "Cycle of Abuse" can be challenged and broken.
Thank you so much to Alison Soroka and her team for producing this video with the help of the Surrey Women's Centre and the City of Surrey. Any woman who has been in an abusive situation will know the feeling of not knowing how to get out. The only way to get OUT is with support. I got out with the help of the 100 Mile House Women's Centre, my victim services worker, the MCFD, and the Axis program that provided counseling for my children. Bless them all. Reach out; get help; save yourself.
@TheLesliesb Thank you Leslie for sharing! Your words are very powerful and true! May every victim realize that there is help out there; and through that help, the opportunity to have a life free from abuse.
