  • Looks just like my bird, except a little darker... Wall-E looks more black instead of gray like Kopita :D

This is a great video, I love the music

  • Aww! Its adorable! :D can he talk? :)

  • @MeDeemon We tried to teach him to talk, but he can't say anything yet...

  • looks like a little phoenix :) cute !

  • Oh cutie-pie! This video makes me nostalgic for my cockatiel :(

  • Is he a robot? his name is Wall-e

  • my birds showed the babies how to take a bath in the rain

  • His pearl marking are simply beautiful! I hope even if proved to be male by his first adult molt (or dna testing) he keeps some of them, they meld just too well with his pied markings.

Were his flight feather clipped or just growing in slowly?

I give my 'tiels mist showers, but we play "towel games" similar to how you dried your baby off and when we make "bird burritos", it's great for vet offices, older or ill birds in cold weather, and just in case of emergencies.

  • @weirdlilfaechild His flight feathers were just growing in slowly. Thanks for your comment!

  • @Verrie77 He was a baby so he had no wings yet.

  • he looks exactly like mine

  • I don't think this cockatiel was enjoying himself much. He was trying to get out the whole time. Tiels in general don't seem to like puddle-baths much, and usually like being misted more. Anyway, you don't have to "bathe" your bird. Just give them the opportunity and if they want to, they will. :)

  • @vulturedoors Don't worry, he LOVES his baths now! Every time he sees a sink, he flies towards it! I think he was just scared because it was his first time.

  • @fredahu17 That's good to hear. :) In the video he seems more confused than anything, so I'm glad he's gotten used to his baths now and enjoys them. I wish my cockatiel liked baths, LOL.

  • @vulturedoors Yeah, but this was the birds first bath. And I guess they were just introducing him to bathing so he wouldn't grow up to hate baths when he becomes an adult cockatoo like ours did. And like most babies first baths, they HATE it. But after a few tries, they get used to it and eventually learn to love it.

  • @vulturedoors actually, most avian vets suggest giving teils about 2 baths a week to reduce dust and to moisten skin. ad in the wild cockatiels bathe themselves all the time.

  • Ahaha X3- Theh whole time, it looks like he wasn't very into it. He didn't look mad either, though, so I'd say it went well!

  • i use a spray bottle and my 2 babies love it :) the fine mist soaks them hahaha

  • @mynameismudddd I was SUPPOSED to get paid for it, but I didn't. You just reminded me that I should change it to something else soon.

  • should the water be hot or cold???

  • @manzoorafghan Warm.

  • @manzoorafghan actually it should be around room tempurature in the summer and warmish in the winter to prevent freezing. :D my teils love baths and i have it about 3-5 inches deep and they love sitting on my hand as i move 'em back and forth a lil underneath the water. lol

  • @SayYouMissMee No, it's water.

  • aww thats cute :3 my cockatiel likes to shower. with me << thats it, thats the only way i'll get him in the water. My bf gets jealous and its kinda funny xP i tried to bathe my cockatiel and he kept flying away and hiding up on the shower rod =X he will only shower with me x.x

  • did you cut his wings or what? my parrots just won't sit in the tub :-s

  • @TheIonutzzuu Nope. He was a baby and didn't have any. :)

  • 0.39 dude ! He wants to get out .w.

  • That is so cute!! Thank you so much for making this

  • my cockatiel was 3 months old and not hand tamed when i got him, i spent a lot of time with him following a site on cockatiels i found on the net. now he is 6 months old and very tame. he loves to be out and he absolutely loves for me to scratch and rub his head and neck. the only problem i have is he dont like water. ive tried a couple of things but no luck. any help would be appreciated thanks

  • @tmob12 My bird doesn't like water much either. But now I use a bird bath spray, which is slightly better. A lot of users put suggestions on what their cockatiels like. Some people like to mist their birds and they say that they like that.

  • He was so scared of his first bath bath he was like "Oh shit this crazy person is going to get me ready to cook me!" Then it shit in the sink. Lol cute bird

  • he's slipping a lot. try putting a hand towel or wash cloth down on the bottom of the sink so he doesn't slip as much

  • let him meet the shower

my four cockatiels like it 2 !

  • woow... so sweet- especially when you dried him!!!!!!

    did you clip his wings?

  • @ophthalmologist Nope, he was a baby at the time. :)

  • Try using a spray bottle they enjoy a finer mist =)

  • Good that its not soap i was gona Show my wrath up on you but good that its only water in that bottle !

  • i love the birds color it has

  • Your cockatiel is sooooooooooooooooooo cute!

Mine bites all the time, and I have to spray him!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh, my gosh! That's so cute and sweet that it brings tears to my eyes. I watched this with my 16-year-old cockatiel, Tails. :)

  • @HorseLover5585 That's not soap; it's water.

  • beautiful pattern! Cannot wait until my babies become 5 weeks :D

  • hey if he is only 10 weeks old, how did you get him to sit on your hand? is he shop bought or hand raised??

  • @chimmi85 He is hand raised by a breeder.

  • ohh ok so its a soap bottle but water filled in it

  • @2r7jds Yeah, it was rinsed out a lot, so don't worry ;)

  • he poop!! hahaa ew why are u putting soap on him or her??

  • @2r7jds No, that's not soap. Just water.

  • Awww! Pretty bird. I had 4 tiels. My sweet little Nikki died of cancer in February.

I still have Sam, Joker and Fritz. Birds are so adorable!!!

  • @Janellbird Thanks! I am really sorry to hear the loss of your bird. I don't know what I would do if the same thing happened to mine!

  • pretty bird

  • @countrylovinme Thanks!

  • my bird gets soo tramatised that he/she doesn't say anything for the rest of the day !

  • @jamodude56 Actually, that was just water, but now I use the bird spray.

  • @jamodude56 That's special bird spray that you can get from pet stores.

  • i take a spray bottle and spray my parakeet and he just sits there then i take my cockatiel and do this and my parakeet just sits there thinking "Yeah I get sprayed and he gets a nice bath!? WTF!?"

  • My Cockatiel Won't Go Near Any Water Except His Water Dish, The Spray Bottle Makes Him Mad. The Only Way I Can Bathe Him Is Turning On The Shower & Sticking My Arm In & He Runs In & Out Of It.

  • @Iluvpandaz41 He's a pearl pied.

  • @KoolKidzBeFly1926 That's not soap, it's water.

  • i wish my cockatiels would let me play with them and bathe them.... problem is i got them from a farmer who mistreated them and i can never gain there trust now.... :( only if they knew i am there friend. we would have so much fun having play time lol buti still love them <3

  • lol cute

  • u bathe cockatiels?

  • @kyuubisharinan3296 You should bathe them at least once a week, to avoid plucking and other things.

  • @fredahu17 If You Pay Enough Attention & Play W/ Them They Won't Pluck, I Don't Think Bathing Has Anything To Do With It.

  • @MapleBalls Bathing actually keeps cockatiels healthy, so it is recommended that you bathe them.

  • Awwww!!!!!!!! whut a cute cocatiel lol its the pearl huh? lol sooo adorable!!! i have a cockatiel her name is Sally and when i take her a bath she screams and flaps her wings i wonder why? Lol anyway ur bird is awesome! :)

  • My cockatiel doesn't like baths either lol.

  • lol I loved how you named him Wall-E! I named mine Kevin from the movie, Up.

  • @22KitKat20 I really liked that movie! Especially Kevin! :)

  • @22KitKat20 me 2!! =]

  • shes adorable!!!!

  • what are you thinking?? you dont put soap on a bird!

  • @lg773 That's not soap; it's water.

  • I don't think he likes the fact that he can't climb up, and out of the sink XD Good idea, NO ESCAPING!!!

  • 00:23 XD he poops in the sink

  • so cute. @ 0:24 he left you a present x3

  • so cute. @ 0:24 he left you a present x3

  • @browndinosaur The female one, you can definitely train. I feel so bad for the other one... :( It might take a while with him.

  • @browndinosaur Yes, it depends on their cheek patches and the patterns on their tails.

  • @browndinosaur It's possible to still tame them, but it's usually easier if they're about 2 or 3 months.

  • @browndinosaur If they attack you, you should try to tame them. How old are they, approximately?

  • That bird is very large for only 10 weeks. My cockatiel is over half a year old and he is small compared to that one.

  • dont seperate them to younge because they can die if you want to hand rear a cokitial you have to feed it every 3 houres. so just wait because you can still tame them.

  • @WillyG793 I got him from a breeder at 10 weeks and by then, he could eat solid foods, like seeds.

  • hehe :D slippery

  • female,isnt it?

  • @Bahamut347 It's impossible to tell by watching this video, because he was only 10 weeks at the time and cockatiels do not get their adult plumage until their first molt.

  • @fredahu17 i have a persistent question,i was hoping that an expertised person would answer

my mom works in a big garden, wich has a big cage with many bird exhibits, especially a bunch of tiels, she feeds them. . . . .2weeks ago,my mom noticed a bunch of newborns in the nest, and she is going to bring me one, when can she separate the birds? they have 2 weeks

  • @Bahamut347 I believe that you should wait until they are able to eat solid foods (i.e. seeds) by themselves before your mom seperates them. Actually, I am not an expert, but I got my bird when he was 10 weeks, and able to eat seeds. I hope this helps!

  • @Bahamut347

I have raised several Cockatiels (years ago) and my brother (father bird) would take them a bit before they turned into pincushions. I'd check a book for the exact age. But, this is only assuming you're not afraid to feed them four times a day with a syringe and keep them warm. Its also fun to teach them to fly. *^_^*

  • xD He pooped... :)

  • @CuffsMcgraw Haha :) I know!

  • ha ha ha

  • The best way to find out if its a boy or a girl is to feel thier pelvis and if you feel 2 bumps than it is a boy and if you only feel one its a girl.

I know it sounds wierd but its true and i got this from a bird expert. :)

  • Thanks!

  • Another way is a juvinile cockatiel's tail has stripes. If they vanish, it's a boy, if not, it's a girl.

  • My cockatiel has no stripes, but has dots underneath his/her tail. The breeder I got my cockatiel from said that he was a boy, though, so I'm not sure...

  • @fredahu17 Those are dots. Not stripes.

  • Yeah, I know. ???

  • @fredahu17 Which means he's a boy.

  • OK, thanks for the help!

  • how many time do you bath them in a week...Im not sure Ima bath mine...I think I just clean them with the stuff the pet store...not sure what it called...

  • @vaming559 I usually bathe my bird, once a week. I now use Bird Bath Spray too.

  • if you want to know if your cockatiel is a male or female just look at its tail if the tail has yellow stripes its a female if the tail has no stripes its a male. And heres another way if your cockatiel has lots of white dots under the wings its a female but males have no dots and no stripes on their tail thats the best answer you can get :D

  • Thanks! What if my cockatiel has spots under his/her tail? I'm not sure exactly what it is. I have to check.

  • Ok, I have an albino cockatiel...completely solid white...so, now what? DNA?

  • i just bring mine in the shower with me BEFORE i wash with soap of frst and if i dont bring him with me he gets upset and wont shut up lol

  • I would try that, but my cockatiel is REALLY stubborn and will probably fly away. LOL

  • I had trouble telling which sex my cockatiel was too, but then one day it laid eggs so it removed all doubt.

  • Aw, absolutely beautiful coloring!

  • Thanks!

  • This looks like a female, She has pale cheeks :)

  • It's hard to tell when the cockatiel is only 10 weeks old. You have to wait about 9 months for the cockatiel to get his/her full coloring. The breeder said he was a boy.

  • Aww so cute^^.... but are it's wings clipped?? :(

  • No. He was a baby.

  • @fredahu17

Ok good, glad to hear that :)

  • you should just lightly mist the young bird, most teils enjoy that

  • We bought him a new bird spray. He used to love his baths when he was a few months old, but now he hates them.

  • @pokemonarceus13 how do you mist them?

  • o nvm its water...

  • It's better if you take them in a shower with you, letting them stand under the spray after it bounces off you first. Plus that way, if they aren't in the mood, they just have to move out of the way. I've done this with my two cockatiels for the 10+ years I've had them and they love it! They get all fluffed up and silly, flapping and grooming and rubbing their heads and faces against my fingers and under their wings. Putting them in water like that isn't natural, and it isn't fun for them!

  • mnes wild and i tamed it in 1 day

  • Is your bird handfed, I bought one some years ago from a pet store and it's wasn't nice at all, I'm just learning that handfed birds are the best.

  • Yes, my cockatiel is handfed. We bought him when he was ten weeks from a breeder.

  • Do any kind of these birds "yell" or caw at night?

  • They usually are not noisy at night. I just cover up his cage and he's absolutely quiet.

  • thanks!:) im getting one right now!!

  • me too :D

  • just found it and love it .. so did my blue and gold lovie769

  • whats the song :)?

  • my cockatiel still does that! lol

  • that video really helped me on how to give a cockatiel a bath tyvm

  • My Beeboo hates shower. lol

  • how often do you have to bathe them??

  • About once a week.

  • So, to take a cockatiel a bath, u just fill a sink w/ a little water and pour some water on them? Or can they do it on their own?

    Adorable bird, btw :)

  • This video was made when I first got my bird and now instead of only using water, I use a special bath spray for birds. You can get them at any pet store. Thanks for leaving the nice comment!

  • Thanks so much!

    And your very welcome.

  • lol. ur bird's cute.

  • OMG!!!!! im so sorry, i read the comment below and it said you didn't use soap. I'm extremely sorry.. you deserve you cuss me out.. and say all the bath things you want.. im so sorry! LOL.. i just freaked out because my first cockatiel, SALLY.. i love her to death, and would hate if anything happened to her. ANYWAYS, sorry once again for putting that bad comment down and hope you'll forgive me.

lol, i have a problem of not notiving things that are right there in front of me .. lol

  • never ever ever ever ever EVER!!!!! USE SOAP.. IN THE BATH UNLES YOU WANT TO KILL IT OK?

  • lol cute!

i hope my bird likes its bath. if it doesn't its gonna stink O.o

wish i can get one soon but i have to wait til my b-day |:|

but u bird is funny when it baths. tries to get out

it pooped in the water O.O lol

  • you shouldn't use soap. it can hurt thier skin

  • don't worry its water

  • cute chirp

  • idk 4 sure, but i think soap is harmful to birds. if it's water nvm but if it's soap u prbly shouldn't use soap on it.
