  • I wonder if there is more footage of this performance..... Ive seen this many times but it seems that....... it gets longer every time I see it... I swear.... there used to be only like 20secs of this performance only..... hope this doesnt get taken down......

  • Which pixel is hendrix ?

  • i love how jimi always plays licks ive never heard before ...

  • this is sick. Other guys suck compared to hendrix. sound like they just learnt to play

  • is this with the Paul Butterfield Band?

  • boy thats the real shit right there

he's why i played the gitar in the first place

  • Damn this is really good.

  • I like how Jimi is directing traffic... dig those flat-wounds too.

  • Love the way bass keep playing while Hendrix starts hes heartbreaking solo... wish there was much better quality though

  • jimi always has the last word

  • Whats really great about this is that it's pure Jimi. No Marshalls,no Wah, no Fuzz Face and no Univibe. Just his fingers his gitar and black face Fender amps and his Soul at medium volume levels and he still getting that out of this world sound, This is the genius that makes him light years away from any guitar player before and after him. Hendrix is the real deal; Period ! This man was not of this world !

  • jimi makes shit his own. straight up.

  • Too bad Hendrix is mostly on rhythm here

  • Great clip though!! Never seen this one before. Thanks!

  • I think in this case it is meant for Jimi to play rithme? The other one, Roy or not is the solist in this case.

  • farout music man!

  • HENDRIX DOESNT NOT START PLAYING UNTILL 3:15 if you say other wise fucking kill your self now. you dont know hendrix............

  • Jimi is playing accompaniment and actually calling the changes until he does a solo himself starting 3:15. I know Jimi very well, thank you ;-D

  • what a personality you seem to be....be quiet little boy.adults talking here

  • he is playing rythm & kicks in with a solo at 3:15

  • well why is it when it sounds like hes at the 12 fretish or higher you can see his hand is near the 3 fret?

  • It´s me! Roy I´m not dead! And i tell you: The guy you see here is

  • Jimi bought this club later that year, gutted it, and VIOLA......... Electric Ladyland Studio!!! I was there when it happened!!!!!

  • Your ears alone should tell you it is not Roy.

  • Generation Club, 52 West 8th Street, New York.

Roy Buchanan was formerly believed to have participated in the jam at Generation Club, New York City, NY 07.04.68, but this is wrong. The featured guitarist is most likely Dave Woods, with Ed "Bugs" Gregory on bass, and possibly Glenway McTeer on drums.

  • @overdriven56 it is you dumbass.... he was still young and experimenting... plus i think he was purposely trying to sound like hendrix.... or he ended up sounding like him.... that happens between musicians sometimes.........

  • @codehendrix Dumbass yourself. Just read the video description and open your ears if it is not too late!

  • Read my reply about yours. The info on the video is corrected too, man!

  • this is not Roy Buchanan!! Roy was a barber during this time span and had retired to be a family man which did not last long. This video has been studied for years.

  • Right I check this out and the gitarist seems to be one called Dave Woods. Not Roy Buchanan

  • Roy was never there. The book "American Axe" explains it all.

  • My books, PYE among others he was!

  • That isn't Roy.

  • I don't want to dissapoint you but it *is* Roy

1968-04-07 (Sunday): Generation Club, 52 West 8th Street, New York, NY * tracks: 1. jam * video: with Roy Buchanan on guitar including performances by other artists, and Jimi watching Buddy Guy's performance, from "Wake At Generation" film by D.A. Pennebaker, in colour; 5 minutes, very good quality (1)
