Why must an argument against God always be fully logical, while an argument for requires nothing but belief? To know something requires both a belief in it and it be true. For it to be true you have to be able to prove it. For someone to believe in god is fine. For them to say they know god exists, requires that they have proof. If you can't prove it, then it is just a belief.

@wheresmylife Christianity, along with Islam and Judaism are intolerant in nature. That is, they state their god is the only one and they are the only ones right. The only other major religion that willfully contradicts with others might be Buddhism, but they of course do not believe in a god. I am not an atheist, but I do not think that there is a need to look down on or be intolerant of others' beliefs. Belief requires no proof, but knowledge does. That was my point against your logic.

There ARE holes in biblical prophecy, and by biblical standards those holes would mean that the writer was a false prophet. The one making the claims is the one with the burden of proof. If you claim the Bible is infallible, then ONE error takes down your claim by definition.

Among true Christianity, that will never change. The Bible is clear on what is wrong and right. If it weren't the absolute truth (and not just A truth among other truths) I would have no part of it. True Christians (and make no mistake, there are false ones) do warn people of hell because it's a reality. Christians didn't make it up. If you died and found out hell was real, wouldn't you be ticked that Christians DIDN'T warn you about it? Yes! Why must an argument against God always be fully logical, while an argument for requires nothing but belief? To know something requires both a belief in it and it be true. For it to be true you have to be able to prove it. For someone to believe in god is fine. For them to say they know god exists, requires that they have proof. If you can't prove it, then it is just a belief.

@wheresmylife Christianity, along with Islam and Judaism are intolerant in nature. That is, they state their god is the only one and they are the only ones right. The only other major religion that willfully contradicts with others might be Buddhism, but they of course do not believe in a god. I am not an atheist, but I do not think that there is a need to look down on or be intolerant of others' beliefs. Belief requires no proof, but knowledge does. That was my point against your logic.

@wheresmylife Regarding his infallibility argument, I have heard it before, and it does not impress me. Using the bible to prove the bible does little, but that is not the point. There ARE holes in biblical prophecy, and by biblical standards those holes would mean that the writer was a false prophet. The one making the claims is the one with the burden of proof. If you claim the Bible is infallible, then ONE error takes down your claim by definition.

Among true Christianity, that will never change. The Bible is clear on what is wrong and right. If it weren't the absolute truth (and not just A truth among other truths) I would have no part of it. I wouldn't want anything to do with any faith that claims it's one way among many. That makes truth, not truth but subjective.
