  • This is the best video ever

  • hey i just bought this software and i was wondering where can i import my green screen files/video into my videos?

  • what filter is used at :35? i'm new to video editing and was looking for this look. thanks!

  • @lRoboToast its either old time or something like that in the fx category.

  • I love the this version of the Robin Hood series!!!

  • your a gay ...F**K you..

  • Does anyone no how to reset the settings on Sony Vegas home studio HD ?

  • what did you use for 51-53?

  • @pf008

He created a new layer above the main video to create the overlay, added "black and white" and made the transparency on the new layer to approximately 50%. After fading the overlay in and out, it created that effect.

  • @qpstrafe OMG thank you so much for that explanation. I've been trying to do this in vegas using masks and it just wouldn't work. Then I read your comment and BAM!!! I can now get on with my project!!!! THANK YOU!!!

  • @Janetfl No problem.

  • lameee

  • cool movie. Mine is made with vegas too..

  • or just use keygen and do the same thing LOL.

  • how do u do the effect at 0:16

  • @TheAwesomeDudes Picture in picture Montagical has a tutorial

  • I want to lean how to do this effect at 0:53

  • me too =/

  • Its not that hard you just have to have the two video streams on each other and have one of them a little transparent. If you want it to be gray like the one in the vid, just add the black and white effect to the other video stream.

  • wow! thanks! *

  • No Problem

  • very EASY :D

  • its easy

  • At around 15 seconds you have a smaller video enter and move around the screen while the main video keeps playing. How do you do that ? I'm trying to get the hang of Vegas Move Studio 9 but I'm not having much joy.

And thanks for posting the video, it's one way of getting to grips with the effects and seeing what they can actually do.

  • put a video on the 1st video timeline then in the 2nd video timeline put the other movie go to the 1st one and go to pan/crop and make smaller the video and move the litle bar in the pan/crop timeline and drag the video whenever you want

  • how do u cut the videos on that

  • , i'm working in a school video that uses special effects ("powers" per exemple, i want to put effects on the screen, understand?

  • I wanted to ask me whether Sony Vegas 8 Platinum Edition, the "masking" function contains. Although I have already Sony Vegas 9 Platinum Edition, but this version is "masking" is not available. I hope they can help me, because I do not know to whom I might otherwise apply. Thank you very much!

  • What kind of lame-ass comment is that? Sony sells Movie Studio, so there are people *buying* it. It's a lot cheaper than Pro.

For the record, I also have Vegas Pro 8 (I *bought* it) as well as Final Cut Studio (also *bought* it). While Vegas is a fabulous application at a good price, I prefer Final Cut Studio, in part for Motion as well as LiveType. But I don't know if you can use Final Cut Studio, so perhaps you wouldn't know about that. If you can't, sucks to be you, I guess. LOL.

  • touchy touchy are we? i guess humour is wasted when you type it, rather than here it.

  • A wink smiley goes a long way, m'dear; you should have tried it. And I did add an LOL!

  • What effect is used at 0:53?

  • I believe it was "Mask Generator," which does an overlay but makes the video turn black and white.

  • You look like Hugh Jackmans Stand in...

  • is this like..the seekers? XD

  • What the crap is this!

  • this video creeps me out

  • ugh,i need help with the video effects,i want to make it last for only a few seconds of the clip, not the whole clip, butt i don't know how.

  • use keyframing ok yw

  • How do you do that?

  • there are many tutroials on how to do that

  • i found them!yay!

  • I mean,I found out how to do it.

  • you know when professionals does it its boring. But when unprofessional does its fun to watch.

  • how do you do the one at :58?

  • I'm not positive, but I think he totally overlapped the clips of the two scenes in the video timeline, so the "incoming" scene played at the same time as the first scene.

  • AWSOME!

  • nothing extra..

  • what is the effect called on 0:54? how do you do that?

  • I can't figure out how to trim the clips in SVMS 8.0 D:

  • What effect was used between 00:53-00:56?

  • Hello! I would love to know what effect you used at 0:52-54 and on 0:17

    Thanks

  • I have SVMS 8 Platinum too, and I don't know a lot about it. Like I know you can speed up or slow down videos on like every program, but i cant find it:P do you know where it is?

  • Yes, try pressing and holding ctrl and then stretch or shrink the selected image/video.

  • Thank you so much, I've been looking for this simple tool forever!

  • If I can I will :)

(I struggled for a few months myself)

  • Wow!! the music is really reaaaalllllyyy British and here British spells inappropriate :)

  • The music is by Oscar winning composer Jerry Goldsmith, a native of Los Angeles. ;)

  • Well it did sound british and for the type of scenes and intensity in the video, it is inappropriate.:)

  • It is TOTALLY inappropriate! LOL

The film the music is for is actually a thriller/horror movie about an intelligent orangutan (what bizarre movie—starred Terrence Stamp and Elizabeth Shue) and the music actually fit the film quite well!

  • Lol... Yeah that would be a great fit!! :D

  • @elvirasweeney Lol :D.

    Thanks for showing us this

  • hi sweeney... where can i get some free video filters and transitions for sony vegas 8? thanks.

  • I don't really know, henrixxx26. I just started using Vegas. I would recommend that you go to the Vegas forums on the Sony site and ask your question there.

I do know that Vegas does not seem to yet enjoy as much third-party support (at least this is what I've been told) as other editors, like Adobe Premiere and Final Cut. But I'm sure there must be a few free plug-ins out there.

  • Yeah, that effect at :52-:54 is sweet. :)

  • Hello! I would love to know what effect you used at 0:52-54. I have sony vegas movie studio 8 is this possible on there? Please help me if you can.

  • That effect is done with adding a second video track, and choosing some effect (blending effect) I think. You definitely can use this in Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8, since that's what I've got. (I've got the Platinum version, but I doubt that makes a difference.) I'm not an expert in Vegas (I'm mostly a Mac person) but there are a lot of Vegas fans out there who can help you more.

  • You can have alot of video layers/tracks on Vegas 8.

  • how do u do the thing at 00:15. ive been trying to figure that out and failing miserbaly(sp.).

  • That's done by adding a new video track, and then changing the video's size and using keyframes to make it move around. (Sorry I didn't reply to your question sooner.)

  • thnkz.

  • im downloading the free tril (but not the platinum

  • is it good? cuz i really want to get it

  • Yeah, it's pretty good. I think you should try out Adobe Premiere Elements too, though. (I have a some sample videos made with it as well.) I like Premiere Elements because it has more video tracks (which means more special effects) and it's easier to learn. But Sony Vegas is *VERY* stable and also pretty awesome.

  • Is Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 better or worse than elements?

  • Well, Premeire Pro is made to be better. Premiere Pro is a lot more expensive, meant for higher level filmmakers, while elements is meant for amateurs or those just getting in to filmmaking. Same maker, completely different filmmaking levels.

  • OH MY GOD!

I just looked for a video which could explain me more about SV8 and you did it! With Robin Hood, my favorite series! Thank you so much :D

  • LOL! Yeah, I have a lot of Robin Hood footage on my hard drive right now (and I'm hooked on the show) so I guess it seemed natural to use RH clips with these videos!

  • window movie maker has this.

  • "window movie maker has this."

LOL! What does it have? Four layers of video? Keyframable filters and effects? No, I don't think so!

  • dude..windows movie maker sucks. and vegas studio 8 has sooooo many more features. go to their website and check it out.

im getting this after christmas! cant wait to use it!

  • i want this software it looks soooo good but i just cant afford it *cries*

  • Look into getting a used older version of it on eBay. I think Sony Vegas Movie Studio 6 (not Platinum version) shouldn't cost too much at all, and will have many of the features that this version has.

  • Oh, even polka sounds good with Richard on!

  • LOL! It's actually film music from an '80s suspense film with Elizabeth Shue and Terrence Stamp, called "Link" (about an intelligent orangutan, if you believe it). The music is by composer Jerry Goldsmith (of "Star Trek" and "Alien" and countless other films) and since "Link" is a rare score, I thought that some Goldsmith fans might enjoy hearing it!
