  • Im 16 and i love this old stuff! Stuff from the 40's all the way to the 90's was the best shit! Now... Only a few bands r left that started back then and are still good.... Kiss, ac/dc... So, old stuff better, only good thing about todays music, is dubstep, fuck rap and hip hop! Rock and dubstep! Rock by the bands that acually know what they're playing!

Im dragging this comment on.... 16, love this classic rock... Oldies and dubstep

  • WoW ..... What else is there to say...only the fact that there are 10 people out there that don't know music AT ALL !!!

  • Fuckin love this song

  • I could listen to this all day!! Love the added piano, really adds to the song))). Thanks for sharing!!

  • Amazing !! Were it no for you tube and you mon ami, I would never have heard this live version :) J'aime beaucou[ :)

  • This is at 7th Februar 1959 - just four days after Buddy Holly & Co fatal crash!

  • @SuperCosty2010

Alas! He was favorably compared to Elvis, but, as the saying goes, unlike Elvis he could really play that guitar.

He didn't go down with Buddy Holly in the airplane. I believe it was a tour bus crash that claimed him.

  • my grandchildren go crazy listening to these gems, they call me lucky to have

been around when rock and roll was king

  • Yep but the piano player is to loud man .....dey yo deyey oh ...just like the bongo player Mitch!!

  • Anos de Ouro !

    Golden Age !

  • from the roots of rock n roll

  • Он лучший

  • I GOT THIS GOOD SHIT ON MY IPOD!

  • Simple, but yet catchy.

  • Eddie a great singer i like the cotten picker was my fav , I use to pick cotten brought back old memories so sad he died so young .

  • A Legend, Great tune.

  • @mcleanartists some people tune their basses up to standard F, some use Capos.

  • The bass player's using a capo!

  • ah! i freaking love this song >.< classic

  • super

  • sweet fender p bass

  • Jimmy's Venndetta.

  • @gangerollo: Maybe it is interesting: two singers who were friends are in videos using similar (odd) performance styles. Performances can be re-interpreted and re-considered, sometimes in important ways, sometimes not. The comments section would be boring if everybody just said "it is so important to have this precious rare footage from rock n roll's infancy."

(But I think we agree that these performances are amazing!)

  • Rock and Roll......Oh Yeah!!

  • is not better than Elvis!! come on!! but is fuckin' great!!!! ROCKABILLY LOVE!!

  • *insert generic Justin Beiber comment for thubms up here.*

  • nice :-) thanks for upload :)

  • I don't think he was better than Elvis Presley, but I like him. I LOVED Elvis Presley!

  • Why does he look at the ceiling? Is he trying to figure out what Gene Vincent was looking at?

  • @biglinguist Of course you are right. Though I think he look both here and there. Is that interesting what or where he look at?

  • @gangerollo only 'cause Gene spends the whole "Be Bop a Lula" video looking at the ceiling...

  • @biglinguist So Gene looks at the ceiling. Really? HUH!? IS THAT of any importance? What's your point? What do you mean with this stupid comment. Isn't the REAL interesthing thing having this rare precious live footage of Eddie from Rockn'rolls infancy.

  • He was better than Elvis...but the timing was off...Elvis and his advertisments beat him out....!

  • @wavelinked I agree that he was better than Elvis. Elvis opened the door. Eddie took the stage. But, history- as it happened, is not nearly as interesting as the history created after it. It's almost blasphemous to consider anybody better than Elvis.

  • nice

  • Got to find a HQ, digitally remastered version of this song. Classic, pure, timeless!

  • This was filmed just four days after Buddy Holly, the Big Bopper and Richie Valens died....

  • You can definately see all the british stars of the 60's learnt from Eddie, Tommy steele and the like. It would have been interesting to see how Eddies style evolved had he lived, and he deserves so much more credit for his contribution to R&R.

  • Do you the colonel was bumping off the opposition? Big bopper Buddy Holly Eddie Cochrane! Eddie's brakes were faulty!

  • listen the sid's version

  • Is the best music for today .really

  • Had Eddie lived, I honestly think he would have been serious competition to Elvis.

  • love this video-thanks

  • sid vicious version is better

  • thats queen i put queem

  • so true glenn matlock used eddies riff on god save the queem

  • Eddie...King of Rockabilly.

  • On Eddie's headstone in Forest Lawn, Cypress, it reads that God was putting the greatest band in history, and he needed the absolute best frontman and guitarist...so He called Eddie home. It was an honour visiting him to pay my respects! RIP Eddie

  • If he would have lived longer he would have been bigger than Elvis

  • 50 years after you passed away (4/10/60), we still like your music Eddie. Today is 4/17/10.

  • CE JOUR 50 ANS DEJA PARTIE TES .. EDDY égard .. RIP .. PARIS 17 Avril 2010 ..

  • je l'adore ...Eddie trop tôt partie en même temps que Buddy Holly...les meilleurs pionniers du rock....Mais le meilleur c'est Elvis

  • The sailor at 1:06 is clearly unimpressed...

  • EDDIE VERSION IS STILL THE BEST

  • I Love This Song!! I Know A Dance Too!! ;D xx

  • Humble Pie does the rockingest version ever, check it out!

  • Just watch him and see how much fun he was having. On top of that, this is one of the greatest rock and roll records ever. Eddie Cochran was definitely one of the greats of early rock and roll and will be remembered as one of its greatest rockers.

  • @jackw00pw00p Good on you Jacky Boy...Being like everybody else is'nt really being cool, being yourself is. Rock"n" Roll man!

  • Jackw00p00p

Classic rock music will never die, We might get older, but You are the future to keep Rock and Roll alive!

    Eddie smiles down at You!

    Thanks!

  • @Jim4979 Hahaaa im very sorry to say but this music will be forgotten in 10-20 years or so.

Even better. Ask a 12 year old about Elvis and he/she might not even know who he was, or ask you why the f*ck he/she should care.

    I love it though :D

  • @chingamentu00 I live in Victoria BC and most of the young people know about rock and rollers, especially, Eddie Cochran. I rockabilly is really big here especially with the young people! Off and on, I have a lot of young people ask me what they were about. Today, I'm a writer, but still a rockabilly cat at heart!

  • toll<3

  • man its goood!!!!!!

  • This is amazing! I love it! :)

  • This video is so cool!

Eddie was pure rock'n roll ,

In this song it's clear how he was an inspiration for bands like Ramones, beatles, rollin'stones and so many more!

  • Sheer bloody poetry!

  • What a fantastic, uplifting song.

    A real rock'nroll classic!

  • Amazing! This song is totally contemporary rock'n roll! it reminds me the punk rock rhythm models and sounds something later than 50's...

  • That's because The Sex pistols were Eddie Cochran fans. They reinveted it.

  • Amazing video of Eddie.

  • 02rjones, how right you are!!!! Simply the greatest rock n roll tune that fills dancefloors now in 2009 as it did in 1959. He was very special.

  • Thanks. Timeless.

  • thanks for posting - great memories of the REAL GOOD ROCK'N'ROLL !!!!!!!!!!

  • Jesus, had this young kid not been killed in an auto accident he would have become a worldwide superstar. At least we know he will always be a legend.

    RIP Eddie Cochran

  • gubb fet!!!

  • Times do change don't they...a top pop star in suit & tie...

  • no os perdais al marinero mosqueado.

  • feb 7th this concert date 1959, thats only a couple of days after buddy holly died, eddie and gene must have been gutted.

  • This is my second favorite EC song, the first being Jeanie, Jeanie, Jeannie

  • first heard this song from a Hoola-Hoops advert in 1983 and had it in my head for about 2 years after!

  • Wow ! That was such a great video of Eddie !

He sure had a ball singing up there....I liked the way he was smiling and smirking and doing that shimmy thing the whole way through !

  • great !

  • Just as jumpy as ever. A party classic!

  • el saxofonista impecable que manera de dar palmas, joder, es dios venido al mundo para dar palmas.

  • AMAZING!!! Oh Eddie! <3

  • Timeless. Just as snappy today as the day it was recorded. Thanks for posting.

  • i second that !!!!!

  • I love this verision with the piano :D

  • @pollodeayer For a "few" maybe your correct. For the majority I'd say your INcorrect. by a large margin. Still, you have the freedom of expressing your thoughts. Also, your ALL commended on being able to say something without profanity. Thank you from a 69 year old man that lived, and loved, this era! Oh yes, Eddie Cochran was in the "upper 5" of his classmates at the time! PS: pollodeayer, have a good life! ship shape

  • @pollodeayer Maybe so pollodeayer, yet they were enjoying themselves and entertaining many any others. And, they were crying all the way to the bank...

  • Amazing song. I am only 30 yo now but I was brought up listening to my Dads record collection and I always loved this song.....

  • loved this song since i was 8. it just epitomizes rock and roll.

  • Sorry, bud, February 3rd not the 13th.

  • Just a few days after Buddy Holly died.

  • Buddy Holly died Feb. 13, 1959.

Eddie Cochran died April 17, 1960.

RIP both of them., and thanks for what they left us.

  • And what I meant was that this recording was made just a few days after Buddy Holly had died, February 7, 1959.

  • R I P Eddie cockroach. =)

  • R.I.P. Eddie

yes, sid vicious makes a great cover

  • He died too early, R.I.P Eddie !

  • jimdemovie,

Posturing talent-free overated bums like Sid tried to cash in...and succeeded as far as impressionable and vacuous punk-suckers are concerned!

  • Great ! I love this song.

  • Nice to watch this rare material of C'mon everybody. Me and my band the Lucky Duckies made a cover version for television. Viset us and let us know what do you think!

    Marco Antonio

  • The audience seems rediculously well behaved. I bet the producers of this tv show didn't want things to get too out of hand.

  • ffairlane57...that or they added sedative in the bubble gums!

  • My parents made me chew that gum when I got to excitited lookng at the go go girls. its true its true

  • @ffairlane57 Actually, the audience was made up of mostly teens, with some 'older ones in attendance -- 'most' DID scream and holler yet still remained in control of themselves (no panties, bras, jock-straps, and etc. thrown onto stage...and so on). Those things happened later! It was truly a fun and enjoyable time for all of us, teens and adults alike, in the 50's... Truely -- "Happy Days"

  • This was true rock n roll before these idiots like sid vicious and the other morons who had no talent but used their anger and social commentary as a sorry excuse for music. These guys were the pioneers of rock.sid vicious was a moron who had nothing but to relate to drug induced youth who couldn't associate to anything.

  • how good is this.were is the talent like this today .sory to sound like an old fart but hey

  • @runtburger2 From 'another' old fart -- I agree with you completely...

    ship shape

  • The Eddie Cochran version (the original) is 50 years old ... back then this was not exactly the norm!

The newer versions are exactly that: newer versions.

Glad you like Sid's version too.

  • Comment removed

  • I sure miss Eddie's music and that kind /fun smile of his.

  • Sid Vicious makes a great cover.

  • "Sid Vicious makes a great cover." - metalgear

Dude, Zeppelin PWNS this tune! So does

    James T Bravo (MySpace search)

  • thanks youtube !!!

    I love this music !!

  • i fuckin love this song! the lyrics are fuckin great

  • @sackmagic I too like this song 'sackmagic' but it's very sad you must use such mindless and childish language to express your feelings. work on it -- you'll accomplish much more without the "garbage mouth." I know what I am saying to you because simply; your a younger version of me. ship shape @ 68 years. tu

  • That growling "Who cares?", the best lyric in rock & roll. Ever.

  • I love this song! The only fun you keep is the fun of give away. Rock on EDDIE!

    Sincerely, Jim.

  • I didn't know George Bush was from Derbyshire England I can't ever remember him saying "ayup mi duck a tha orate" but then again I might be mistaken.

  • Eddie was a genius. No Hard Rock, no Punk, no heavy Metal, without him and his music! Rock Music would be differrent without him, too sad, he died much to early!

  • Elvis was the luckiest man alive if Eddie Cochran and Buddy Holly had live he wouldn't have got a look in, he couldn't play an instrument, he couldn't write music and was only an average singer. He just filled a void left by two of the greatest musicians who ever lived.

  • I agree with you when you say that Eddie Cochran and Buddy Holly were two of the greatest rock and roll musicians who ever lived, but aren't you forgetting Jerry Lee Lewis, who was right up there with them in the same league. Also, aren't you being a little unfair on Elvis. He wasn't called the King for nothing.

  • Chuck Berry is the TRUE King of Rock n Roll. Elvis was just a pretender to the throne. Chuck played, sang, wrote all of his songs. Elvis can't compare. Just cuz he was marketable and white. Simple as that.

  • Chuck Berry did some geat stuff. He was also a good blues guitarist. I am old enough to remember all the old rock and roll greats. However, I thought that this page was supposed to be about Eddie Cochran, rather than an invitation for comments by the Elvis Presley knockers. Simple as that!

  • dnt talk bollocks

  • I can see you have put a lot of thought into your quick eloquent reply thanx.

  • @jethropike1964 Your comment is so 'right on' In early to mid 50's, was able to see; Fats Domino, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, etc., etc., etc. at the 'Harmony Park Ballroom' in Anaheim, Calif for a buck -- yep one dollar! Elvis NEVER came close in popularity to anyone else. Oh! "Happy Days!" a 'galaxy far far away... ship shape

  • i agree if you listen to this you just wish you had been alive jiving arounds to this song, love love love it, one of the best

  • if you close your eyes you almost feel as if you are right beside him

  • Holy shit he died with only 21 years?? o0

R.I.P. who knows what awesome songs would have followed :D

  • I reckon Elvis picked up a few ideas from Eddie - who looks like he could play a guitar pretty good too.

  • With out Elvis there wouldn't be eddie cochran..saying all that Eddie was a legend...RIP eddie and thats for the cherished memories.

  • Without Eddie there would never be an Elvis

  • Eddie Cochran, originally wanted to play country, and was an awesome country player. That's why he played guitar better than most guys at the time. He saw Elvis ruined his chance to be famous playing country so he quickly learned how to be a sucessful rock musician.

  • @KnaRRaN1989 r u mad

  • Anyone knows where I can find the Levi's 501 commercial with Eddie Cochran?

  • i used to play my brothers records when he was out when i was about 9 years old,i used to play the sex pistols cover of this,as i grew up i realised that eddy cochrane was the original song

  • GENIUS!

  • campress,hi joe das war sehr süß.jetzt noch bo diddley "mona",merci,MM .bitte !!

  • All togheder!!!!!!!!!

  • Truly an underappreciated artist, Eddie was great!

  • er ist so rythmisch,so musikalisch und so sexy ,ich hätte mich sofort in ihn verliebt.was war das damals und noch heute ein verlust.,,

  • Ja! Ich bin englisch aber ediie ist sehr gut. haha Toll song!

  • Eddie was far better than the rest.

  • Then again Elvis was a wana be black!

  • Eddie was a elvis want to be.If you dont see it.Your blind

  • No, Eddie wrote his own songs, what Elvis hardly never did, played on other peoples records as a session musician, toured the UK, what Elvis never did. You can not comare the two.

  • Elvis was good but you're right Eddie Cochran was the best. What a rocker!

  • by that def everyone's been an Elvis wannabee.. the man influenced music for all times

  • If he had lived I bet he would've worked with the Beatles, the Stones, Hendrix, Clapton, Zeppelin and showed 'em ALL a thing or two. He was way ahead of his time and died way before his time. I'd like to stomp that cab driver who killed him. EDDIE COCHRAN FOREVER!!!

  • could be... definately one of the best.

  • the best song in rock n roll history?

  • Totally in love with him and his music.

  • Brilliant!...This is the first time i have seen this footage..There is cool and there is cool...This guy is COOL!....R.I.P Eddie.

  • na tuhle písničku se tancovalo na táboře každý den před obědem všichni jsme ji milovali ráda si ji připomenu

  • Man, Eddie Sure was the true king of Rock n' Roll. Yeah, i'm 14, and i love Rockabilly/Psychobilly/ 50's Rock overall. Eddie, Gene, Cash, man, What would we have done without those guys?

Eddie Sure were Somethin' Else, R.I.P.

  • ....good performer...he died on my fifteenth birthday....

  • holy shit, awesome!

  • THIS IS REAL ROCK AND ROLL/ Forget the other shit... EDDIE COCHRAN IS THE ONE !!!!

  • love the same song called "Let´s get together". Eddie is the greatest 2gether with Elvis
