Few chemicals entered the water, a majority were expended in the explosion. The rest entered the air as gases. The scene is even more pristine now, with so much new wetland acreage. No birds, and few (if any) fish died, we triggered "fish scare" charges prior to the blasts, which served to keep wildlife away from the blast sites. The ducks were back happily exploring the new flooding area minutes after the blast.
