  • there is still plenty of fog in the winter, just less

  • @99jackbutler The fog happens the most in the summer. It happens when the wind blowing from the west is warm and blows over a cold current of water in the ocean. The cold current cools the air and if it hits dew point the fog creeps in. Seems to happen the most in the evening.

  • Is it like this alot ? I've heard that S.F. stays pretty much in Fall like weather year around.

  • @WillExposeYou It's like it in the summer when the air cools to dew point. The ocean current off the coast of california is cold, the air is hot. These two meet and it cools off the air; creates the fog - so most of the time it has autumn-like weather all year round because of this. In the winter there is no fog because its colder and below dew point.
