Wot I luv bout Alien is the realism, essentially its a simple creature feature, made as a b movie. But it just had all the right people at the right time that made it so original. It had a great director who got inspired by such movies as 2001 Space Odyssey, Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I think It was a Swiss Artist, who designed the Alien, which is y its so strange, but realistic, cus It is basically artistic wen u really look at the Xenomorph, its like nothing you've ever saw b4.
@RaikenXion The Alien was designed by Swiss Surrealist and Artist H.R.Giger. Quite possibly the best looking Alien we will see for some time. An interesting side note: When Giger was a young boy of 12 he painted his entire bedroom black to the dismay of his parents. Showing his awesome and bizarre artistic flare early on.
@dmdf11 I c ur a fan of Giger, I know that his work "Necronom IV" heavily influenced the Xenomorph creature for Alien. Im just more a fan of the 1979 film in general, Gigers painting made "Alien, but he is not the only one who shud take much credit here, there were a mixture of people that all came together at the right time that made the film so groundbreaking. Dan O'Bannon for the story/screenplay and who even introduced Ridley and Giger. And ofcourse Ridley the man himself.
@dmdf11 Wish I cud've saw it bk then wen it first came out on the big screen, bet that was awesome. I also watched Alien at a young age, but only on Tv lol. Cant wait for Ridley's latest work, it shud really bring the whole thing full circle.
@dmdf11 Ofcourse the "Alien" Xenomorph is totally original, even the whole Idea of it needing a host to b fully born, and then taking on the attributes/characteristics of its said host, all these Ideas hav never been thought of especially where the subjects of Extraterrestrials is concerned. So I think its hats off to Ridley, O'Bannon and the Brandywine team for putting all these concepts together, ultimately Ridley's visualistic direction for really making the creature work.
Dude, "B movie?" Really? Ah hahaha! It had an 11 million dollar budget in 1979! It grossed nearly ten times that amount and is archived in the National Film Registry in the Library of Fucking Congress! The reason it is so good isn't some fluke circumstance. Scott knew what the hell he was doing. The hell is the matter with you, anyway?
@HumungusNewsNetwork Theres nothing a metter with me lol, Im just trying to understand why you hav reacted to my comment in such a way, what exactly is wrong with what Ive commented, Im not trying to knock the film. From the very start of the Idea for "Alien" it was originally planned as a B movie, if you dont bleieve this, go check out the special features, and documentaries about the making of the film. And ofcourse Ridley knew wot he was doing, hes a genius filmmaker.
@HumungusNewsNetwork I dont want to argue with you here, but I just cant understand how you have took my comment funny. I was just sharing my opinion about this great movie which I luv so much. I guess it doesnt matter what u say, or how you say it, you're always gonna upset sum1 here on Youtube.
@UncleFeedle With Lambert incessantly calling out over the comms system to the others, would Ash have needed to trigger the alarm to warn the alien. Only joking! I know Lambert is deliberately intended to be panicky, but considering the situation the crew is in, I honestly can't blame her.
Where did ash go?

This scene is in the novelisation. The alarm is deliberately activated by Ash to help the alien escape.

@UncleFeedle Yeah, I remember reading it. It was a bit confusing, though.
