This year the top 3 songs and the UK entry all made UK top 10. I always remember the English version of this and obviously did not realise at the time what a star she was in Italy. Great memories : )

Indeed one of the best eurovision songs ever, it is a shame that she was only second. 'Waterloo' is not the best song of Abba. There are many festivals that the Italien songs must have won(and also the German songs)

I just about remember Eurovision 1974 (I was 10) but I'd forgotten this lovely song. Didn't she do it in Engish as something like "Go (go before you break my heart)" or have I got that confused with Vicky Leandros ? I'm sure I remember those words to this same tune. "I'd like to make my heart a prison cell for you" . . . etc....

one of the best eurovision songs ever.i found my vinyl copy in a newsagent in the 70s when they nearly all had a rack of "goldenoldies". it had the B side in English.sadly my house was destroyed by fire in 2007 and i lost my entire vinyl collection of 23000 singles and albums. TG for youtube and all the uploaders

Abba were good and became great following the contest. Gigliola was stunning already with an excellent song and quality vocal performance. She deserved to win. The song is so touching. Was the song too sophisticated for Eurovision juries? The audience loved it!

eurovision's been a bit of a joke for a long time now but in the 60s and first half of the 70s they had some pretty classy songs/performers and this is the best of the lot after seeing this song on youtube 2 years ago i bought a Gigliola Cinquetti compilation and its all top quality stuff.

Cuando en 2006 Eurovisión cumplió 50 años, se buscó elegir a la mejor canción de las 1,000 que hasta entonces se habían cantado ahí. Resultó ganadora “Waterloo” de ABBA. ¡Nada menos que la canción que en este video está enfrentando nuestra amada Gigliola!

Pocas oportunidades tenía una canción tan espiritual como “Sí”, de vencer a una tan mundana como “Warterloo” (las mismas que tiene una blanca paloma contra un poderoso halcón), pero Gigliola lo intentó y quedó sólo un paso atrás de ABBA.
