I'm 65, I think it takes older folk to really appreciate Jackie, and how she sings her songs, it's like spreading butter; smooth, rich and savory! Most people are enthralled by the production; Jackie's that once in a lifetime muse for whom production is irrelevant, her youtube postings since age 7 prove it to anybody willing to listen.

off topic slightly but the same song was sang, britney spears sang this song at 17, she is from Kentwood LA... (not los angeles) it was really cold and she never performed in a NY wealther b4 and her voice was affected as well cause of the cold.

When the cold air enters into the throat it causes the muscles to contract quickly and as it enters the lungs the body reacts to try and offset the initial shock by holding the air in longer to add to the normal heating effect. Only because of her genius musical brain's ability to compensate rapidly was she able to produce the vocal tones we hear here. As a prodigy, she is truly one of a kind.

I love an authentic performance, even with a swallow at 1:55, but her dancing around shows how excited she is to perform. Her high note at 2:55, then coming down with the music a full 5 seconds later, is simply amazing! I'm so enamoured with this little lady's singing--I've got her latest CD and play it over and over and never tire of it, and that's more than I can say about anybody else's Christmas music. Can't wait until I hear her music on the radio!

@Rockyspoon09 Evidently it already is. At least in her home town. Jackie tweeted that she just heard herself sing silent night on the radio. She said it was weird. To hear yourself on the radio might just be that.

This is a fantastic live performance, that really shows her talent! She is really singing this, (notice when she swallows/gulps at 1:54) rather than the Macy Parade Prerecorded lip syncing.

@wojciechzby may i just say that jackie's mom wasnt there :D there was mike (her dad) and jackie's siblings :D and jackie sang wonderfully and trust me there isnt that cold that jackie could not sing.. mike and lisa are protecting jackie and they wouldnt let jackie sing if they would see it would make somekind of harm for jackie :) Jackie is amazing singer and she sings better than anyone.. and her mom is also very amazing person.. we should be happy that they let jackie sing! :)

Just for people to know that the weather was 17 degrees with a wind chill about zero degrees. Jackie is a brave girl sing even in that kind of weather.

The original tape of this is shown on WPXI.com. I believe the glitch was the tape and not Jackie. Both the music and her voice hesitated at the same time. But even if it was a glitch, like was said, she handled it like the pro she is. There is also an excellent video interview on the XPXI web site.

@cjarvis333 Actually i first heard the hiccup on a different video taken by someone in the crowd..watch?v=5pguSA3Qc-Q...i­t did not take anything away from her performance and made my appreciation of her enormous talents even greater in the way she just smiled about it . My guess is that if she was at the last of the song she would have giggled just like she did after her second song on AGT ended on a bad note. I am in total awe, and in tears, every time I hear her sing.

@cjarvis333 That was not a glitch at 1:53.  The weather was freezing and the wind was blowing hard. I guess the chill just got her and her mouth just shaking at that moment. Jackie is so courage to sing live in such weather.

her little face is so serious while she is singing... then during the short interlude she laughs out loud and waves at her fans like the little 10 year old she is... then switches back to singing with full concentration to end the song in such an amazing way.... who can do that? This should deal those who say Jackie lip-synchs a blow. Her little hiccup at at about 1:53 shows she is not singing to pre recorded sound. She handled it great , just a little smile because she knew she messed up, then kept up like the little trooper Jackie is blowing away every one on the crowd , and me too of course like she always does.

How fantastic is that!! Having fun in a parade and singing beautifully in what must have been really difficult conditions. Everytime a new video is posted my eyes light up and I can't wait to hear her. Jackie Evancho is the gift I will be most grateful for this Christmas, her talent is simply magical.
