The USSR did not declare war against Japan until 8 August 1945. The USSR was beaten twice by the Japanese in the 1930's and wanted nothing to do with them until after Hitler was defeated. The Americans and British (mostly Aussies, Indians and Ghurkas) defeated the Japanese; the USSR came in only to expand their Soviet empire.

After WWII when the US occupied Japan,the US made sure the Japanese have no army by abolishing it entirely but came back to become an economic superpower and even that failed.

Regarding the kamikazee tactics, Japanese soldiers were stored with overwhelming pride for their country and empire. If a mission had failed, it would have brought deep shame for most in the beginning. Understanding the mental stress, a kamikazee raid was seen by the Japanese as a way to die with dignity- dying while fighting for the homeland. It didn't matter whether it was strategic or tactic or what have you.

The attck on Pearl Harbor was actualy not intended as a surprise attack. The declaration was delayed from tokyo to washington so the attack was commited before the U.S gov recieved news of war. Alot of pilots were actually upset to attack a "sleeping enemy" which made them feel dishonorable.

Actually, it was the USA who forced an oil embargo on Japan lifeline, forcing her into action. Roosevelt also violated the U.S. Neutrality Act by sending weapons to China to shoot down Japanese airplanes. In the declaration of war, Roosevelt even took to outright lying to the American people by saying, "we were a peace with that nation (Japan)." Shooting down Japanese aircraft and oil embargoes are acts of war, not peace.

I'm taking a college level class on Japan from 1868 to 1941 and up until 1941, the overwhelming opinion among the decision makers in Japan was that not only was war with the United States avoidable, but that it would be better for Japan to avoid war with the United States at all costs. Given that situation, that's probably the only choice they could make to maximize their chance to win, as they had provoked the Americans in the Pacific. No, more like stupidest. Did they fight with inferior weapons? No, Chinese fought with them with WWI weapons and spears during WWII. Killing youselves before your enemies got to you because you are out of ammunitions is cowardice, and it is hardly brave. Kamikaze is stupid because it didn't work and just wasting pilots lives. Russian airforce has a manuever similar to it by crashing their airplane into German's airplane if they ran out of bullet. That's brave.

Becuase they only ran into other planes when they are out of ammos. Guess what, if you are out of ammos and you enemies still have them, the only way to survive is to run into them. Kamikaze only work the first few times. Rest of the runs after US developed systematic swipe tactics, almost no Kamikaze hited US ships (you can google it). I am just pointing out there is a different between making a tatical decision and just kill youself for no good reason.

I know but as you can see kamikaze were ppl that their mission was to use themselves to stop the enemy for advancing so fast, this was used at 1944 and on (when they were desperate). If you are so informed then you should know that they were a lot of japanese who crashed their planes when they ran out of amo like the russians. You can google it or just see a pearl harbor movie, those weren't called kamikaze but did what a kamikaze would do.
