The music on Luciana was made BEFORE Transmissions, for an art installation, called Juno Reactor, which entailed driving around a decommissioned nuclear missile around London to raise awareness of nuclear war. That's where this video is from. That was the start of Juno Reactor, which was the nickname of the missile.
But in terms of discography releases, they released Luciana on CD AFTER Transmissions, so you are right on that.
the video doesn't fit the music. when i listen to it i imagine either a space-craft trapped by a black-hole and slowly sucked in, with flaskbacks of images going trough the crew's minds (small crew, 2-4 people), or an underwater ship (a big one, titanic-like) and the struggle of the spirits of the dead to get to spiritual light, to "heavens".
I don´t know about you, but when I am looking for a song, I play it on youtube first, regardless of the images on the video. This vid was no exception.
61 minutes and 21 seconds if you want to be tedious about it. But yeah, it's very minimal. But with the right atmosphere (at night, with the lights off, no source of light to distract you) and patience to let your mind give away and let the music embrace you, it can be quite an experience. But most people will find it boring and not really music at all. But that's understandable. It's really more subtle than most songs.
Where is this missile now?

The birth of Juno Reactor...? Transmissions came before Luciana. Wouldn't that have been the birth?

This song really rocks.
Listen to it lying on your bed, on complete darkness. It´ll feel like you are being taken by aliens.
But my favorite parts are when the female voice sings.

wasnt this song just a 45 minute track made up completly by sound effects .. no real beats of instruments involved?
45 minutes of what it would sound like to be locked in the hull or engine room in a space craft
