My daughters became brief caretakers of an abused kitten, small enough to put in your hand & we hadn't had our nearly grown basset hound very long. We introduced them and Ladybug was extreemly gentle with the little fella. She also appears to love young children we meet at a dog park. Basset Hounds are great.

I LOVE your video! Honestly it made me cry it was so sweet. The bond between a child and a dog is always beautiful. I have a bassador (half Basset and half Labrador) and I love the combination of the breeds. But ever since I got my Bassador I have been wild about Bassets too!

Have YouTube not complained about your music because several times I have uploaded pictures/clips with music and each time they have warned me about copyright and ended up deleting my films so I'm at a loss now as to what music I can use for video clips.

I had a Basset Hound just like that when I was his age! Actually, the dog was older than me, so the Basset Hound actually had me. Match made in heaven. RIP Troubles, 1967-1978.

almost all dogs are good with kids. it just all depends on how you raise the dog and how you make a good transition into the change of having a baby around. my dog is very protective of my little nephew. wont let anyone around wit him in the room

@sbvazquez I can almost guarantee your baby and basset will be best friends. And trust me - bassets are unbelievably loving (almost to a fault), but they will protect their family- especially children like you can't believe. My mother died when I was 5, and 2 years later my dad remarried. My stepmom - who really became as much my mom too- could tell I was pretty bummed out. She took me & my older siblings to get a basset pup. I was like a new kid - even as a pup that dog could read me (cont).

@sbvazquez If I ever felt down, my little hound would rest her head on my leg, look at me with those big brown eyes almost as if to say " it'll be ok". That dog brought so much happiness. If there really are angels, I wonder if they come with big ears and droopy eyes. Congratulations on your new baby! I sooo hope he and your basset bond. My mom (stepmom) - who became just as much a parent as my dad, died recently. This video reminds me how wonderful my mom was, and that little basset.
