  • tymon and joe. does it get better? i think beiber is close........

  • ireland is the land of song no other country has given so much to popular music

  • please god in the memory of joe strummer i have no money but if i send u a blank dvd could you please record this concert for me?

  • im tryin to learn the harmonica part

  • Anyone have the guitar chords? :)

  • Haha... I've been trying to work them out for ages.

    I found a few on the internet, but they are all different and none sound right :-/

  • we had a bagpipe player at my grandfather's funeral just outside the church. he played minstrel boy. my mom told me it was my father's request to have this song played. i promised my father it will be played at his funeral also.

  • The minstrel boy will return one day,

    When we hear the news, we will cheer it.

    The minstrel boy will return we pray,

    Torn in body, perhaps, but not in spirit.

    Then may he play his harp in peace,

    In a world such as Heaven intended,

    For every quarrel of Man must cease,

    And every battle shall be ended.

    Love you Joe x

  • The Minstrel fell! But the foeman's chain

    Could not bring that proud soul under;

    The harp he lov'd ne'er spoke again,

    For he tore its chords asunder;

    And said "No chains shall sully thee,

    Thou soul of love and brav'ry!

    Thy songs were made for the pure and free

    They shall never sound in slavery!

  • The minstrel boy to the war is gone,

    In the ranks of death you'll find him;

    His father's sword he hath girded on,

    And his wild harp slung behind him;

    "Land of Song!" cried the warrior bard,

    "Tho' all the world betrays thee,

    One sword, at least, thy right shall guard,

    One faithful harp shall praise thee!"

  • I finally found it. Beautiful music!

  • This is amazing. It's as good with or without the words (see Black Hawn Down Soundtrack). No matter where you're from, if this music doesn't move you, you may need to check your soul.

  • For beardedbard:

    Amen! Couldn't have said it any better.

    Lovely post, Aristotlekh; thanks and greetings from America.

  • howcome no singing?

  • I'm Italian and I love this song

    Thy songs were made for the pure and free

    They shall never sound in slavery!

    RIP Joe
