Great stuff, so rare. Not Bozzio on drums. Not sure about Wortman either. Brian Macleod played with the band live during this period. ??? Whoever it is he is kicking ass. Thanks for posting this...more please!
I used to have a tape of this concert till it was destroyed. I also took lessons from Pete when he lived in Berkley...great and diverse guitar player. Let me know if you could burn me a copy of this on Cd. I would do or trade anything to get another copy. Believe it or not this concert was broadcast on fm radio and that's where I got my copy.

You need to change the drummer in the titles to Kurt Wortman. Terry never played live with the band. The Didjeridu player is Charles McMahon. Thanks for the posting. I was on the band crew and the was the band that started my touring career.
Great stuff, If only there were some footage of Patricks solo tour in 87-88? it was the best club show of all time!. Manau, Karn, Valen, Wortman man was that a concert!
Once again thank you for the post. I think the clip gives peeks into parts of the performance which is a terrible teaser... Kind of reminds me of the creative energy in return to forever,
@Video4dvd Saw Group 87 play in Berkeley in '78/'79 time frame. Some of the greatest music of my lifetime. I still listen to the original CD. I had a cassette of a live broadcast of Group 87 from UC Berkeley's radio station. Wish I could find it. Please post everything you have. You should post the stuff on iTunes (with the band's permission, of course).
The commenter states it is unclear what he post is trying to accomplish. Read the liner notes with the video. This was a live VJ video in a club at the moment that they were playing, one of the first of it's kind. That is why it is so rare. It is also one of the ONLY audio recordings from their live concerts at the time. Check out some of our later work on our Video4 channel. Group 87 was also one of our favorites from a VERY early time - such a talent pool in one group!!! Denise
Group 87's first album was my favorite album when I was in High School. I liked Mark Isham okay, but really just loved this album. I kept waiting for more albums like this to be produced but they never came. This video is odd- it's unclear what the post is trying to accomplish. Unless you have the album in head, this video doesn't do their music justice. If you like Group 87, try "Pell Mell-Interstate." It's quite excellent and about 15 years newer. I'd call it a follow-up on Group 87.
I would like to see the continuations of this show!!!

Yes there is more when I get a chance to dub it off the old 3/4" tape. About another 20 minutes or so.
