I'm glad they had the episode go this way - Lots of people only remember the pretty girls and forget that half the time UY was just about blowin' shit up.

But I agree with a lot of the Japanese-speaking commenters that the prettier, modern style saps some of the life out of it. I miss the loose, free drawings and the Tomobiki that was full of rusty garbage, old newspapers, and stray cats.

うる星やつらは、手書きアナログ時代でも、かなり高度な技法が使­われて描かれていたため、デジタル特有の過剰な表現が、アナログ­より安っぽく見えます。

Guys look at 8:45 you can see can in the background Kyoko and Yusaku Godai from Rumiko Takahashi's second work Maison Ikkoku along with their much OLDER daughter Haruka Godai. I was OMG when I saw that. Just look at 8:02 and you'll see it. Maison Ikkoku was shown on Big Sky Magazine done by the publisher Shogakukan which also published her 3 other works in Shonen Sunday. At 8:05 you see Ataru hit on Kagome and Akane. You can see Rumiko's other character you just got to LOOK very good.
