That's umlauts, big guy. ;-) You need a German keyboard for those. You'll find umlauts are employed for the English equivalent of "ae" "oe" and "ue". You can actually google for a view of a German keyboard layout.

Don't need a German keyboard at all, simply search alt codes on google and it'll be there somewhere. You got to hold alt and hit 4 numbers on the num pad (the set of numbers of the right of the keyboard).
