This was the shortest drive of the year about, 30 minutes from home. Most chases end up being 4 to 8 hours just to get there, and then theres the drive back home. Hopefully there will be a little more action in TX and OK next year.
over here in Portland, Oregon our weather is getting worse every year, we are starting to get golf ball size hail sometimes, and it gets bigger every year, we had a couple severe thunderstorms this year.
I remember this! I live on the west side of town. When you were under the roof there we were getting almost baseball size hail at my house on the SW side of Maysville. I really don't know why they blew the sirens. I guess since nothing ever happens in Maysville they got excited or something.
If there were any tennis-ball size near us it was out there in the dark somewhere. The hail was real spikey. The hail was mostly about golfball size from what I saw but with the spikes on some they were close to tennis-ball.
I had a photo of it that was on CNN. There was also a picture of it on the cover of the Maysville News. A hail stone sitting next to a tennis ball. People around town had their windshields broken out. You guys lucked out!
thank you for your answer!
How far are you driving for your videos?
Next year I want to come to TX or OK to see it with my own eyes, it's so nice!!!

very nice video!
what was the outside temperature?

It was probably in the lower 80's before the hail. Likely about 65 afterwards.

I know it's not, but no one pays attention to Oregon's weather to learn anything of this states climate conditions.
