So So Sad,all these top Aussie bands from days gone by.What ever happened??? What a bloody waste. The scene is not like it is today.R.I.P. Indie music from 1996 back...
Saw these guys with The Celibate Rifles and Soggy Porridge in the early 80's at the Chevron rock room in the cross. Awesome night ! One I still remember
These guys still playing? They were pretty good. I recall seeing these guys over 20 years ago with Psychotic Turnbuckles, Screaming Tribesman, The Stems, but mainly with my favourites, The Hitmen, Johnny Kannis Explosion, and some other bands I can't recall.
I remember seeing Lime Spiders once at Jindabyne, NSW but mainly around the pubs in NSW. Great days. How the years go by.
Little-known adjunct to my previous comment; The second Lime Spiders lineup were actually a band called The Most with the Spiders' singer. The Most came second to the Spiders in a band comp. The prize was that they got to record a single which is how the first Spiders single happened. After the original Spiders breakup the singer recruited The Most as his backing group and that is the band that you see in these clips!
Another favourite live band... used to see them all the time when they toured Melbourne in the 80's! Hard Ons, Hitmen, Screaming Tribesmen, Died Pretty.. those were the days!
Wow that's an ambitious video description. The first lines makes me want to go back to australia in the 80s almost as bad as the US in the 60s... I mean, did us garage freaks get girls and stuff? Sounds fantastic.
Anyway, the singer sounds like Ebbot back in the Union Carbide days on this one.
But hey, I watched some LS-vids from the eighties and they all had mullets! Not as stylish as The Stems really...
The original band that recorded the first single were killer live. High energy sixties garage punk covers. All the great songs. They broke up after recording the first single. The singer then formed an all new band that did all the later records. They occasionally used the original guitarist who was excellent but for me the later lineups just didn't really have much sense of musical direction and give people a wrong impression of how great the original band was.
They were my favourite band for years, fucking awesome live especially at the Sydney Cove Tavern at Circular Quay circa 1990, they had the sound down thats for sure.

Spiders rocked, the Stems cast the hooks with style but it was the Moffs that blew the minds!
