This is a classic. A friend built a house for one of Kris' best friends. He would visit when in town and I would come over. I had played his music for years and covered Bobby McGee after hearing it on a Gordon Lightfoot album. This was pre-Janis. I used to introduce it by saying that I didn't know whether Kris was male or female, but whatever he or she is, they can sure write. Kris loved this story. He was always great when he got high but he is a walking case for the power of sobriety.
