@808statehawaiian Actually, Hawaii's population is around 1.3 million, while only around 20% of it's population has Hawaiian blood in them. There are more people of Hawaiian blood living outside of Hawaii than inside of it. That's a shame that more Hawaiians can't afford to live in their homeland when Hawaii really belongs to its native people. My ex-wife is Hawaiian, so I know how bad Hawaiians really have it. I've seen it with my own eyes. Hawaiians should control Hawaii, not whites and asians

Go back to living from using your ancestral lands. You don't have to be dependent on Western society and its notion of how to live as a way to survive. Your ancestors survived for thousands of years by using their lands, so why can't you do the same? Hawaiian independence would only benefit Hawaii and Hawaiians as it would allow Hawaiians to determine what happens on their own lands.

No it would not.all benefits in Living in Hawaii have come from the federal gov. Think that now but trust me Hawaii does not have the resources to support Hawaii's population today. Our ancestors lived off the land and had populations accordingly, Hawaii today does not have sustainability so what the ancestors did is irrelevant to survival today. so have independence but when the malaria hits and no vaccines are available because we got rid of the established health system deal wit it.

If I remember correctly, there were over 1 million Hawaiians at the time of James Cook's arrival. Isn't Hawaii's population around 1.3 million now? I'm just saying that when Hawaiians controlled their ancestral lands with the populations at the time, they seemed to do well and there was plenty for everybody. Americans hoard resources for cities, while Hawaiians on Hawaiian homelands and drier parts of the islands have slim resources. Hawaiians did better and would still do so in my opinion.

I don't have Hawaiian ancestry in me, but I have been to Hawaii, and based on what I saw, it sickened me how Hawaiians had no control over what deserves to be theirs in the first place. Being from Fiji and being Fijian, I know that we're better off without the British there. Just because a Western lifestyle is promoted does not mean it's the only way to live. What the ancestors did can still be used for survival today, at least in some way or the other. Tradition was and still is important.
