  • you like to hear yourself say GLOCK don't you?

  • @javelinablanco No, not really but when its necessary to explain the functions of the slim 709 to a GLOCK, I will since most people have seen or know how a glock functions. After all taurus has borrowed alot of features and simplicity from Glock. Thanks for watching.

  • Good video brother I love my slim so far. Haven't got to shoot it yet XD. So im going to take it to the range today.

  • @RoughNeckRage yeah its a good firearm, ive had mine as a ankle holster for work for over 2 years and its great still, the rear sights had almost been rubbed off but it still shoots and functions flawlessly

  • LOOKING FOR NIGHT SIGHTS FOR THE TAURUS 709. CAN ANYBODY HELP ME FIND SOME. THANKS MUCH.

  • Too many "umm" 's.

  • @cpparks66 yeah i did say umm alot lol

  • Anyone ever try to super glue pinky extensions on their 709 mags? Considering giving it a try on one my my three.

  • @ggalbraith I did try this and after 10 shots it fell off due to the recoil, but it did feel much better and more control.

  • So how do you clean out that shipping grease (Cosmoline ).

  • @pcollenYT Just break the gun down and clean it with hoppes or remington oil or gun solutiion but just make sure to get it nice and sqeaky clean and it will be so much smoother.

  • @pcollenYT i used a blow dryer and the grease relaxed and then I wiped it away. I then took it to the range and fired it. I let the heat of the barrel get the rest. its very easy and takes about 12 shots. but it cleans easy with a rag and good lube.,

  • Good review. I still laugh when companies but an indicator telling you "hey this gun has a round in the chamber". If you don't know you have a round in the chamber you shouldn't have a gun.

  • @Warpath2198 I agree, you should handel the pistol always as if it was loaded anyway. I guess thats the human proofing

  • @Warpath2198 Gotta satisfy the lawyers and State legislators.

  • @Warpath2198 I agree.

  • @Warpath2198

That is actually so they can get a few extra points so that it can be imported to the US legally. It loses points for the length, caliber (the .380 model anyways) and the barrel length. The one-in-the-chamber indicator compensates for a bit of that point loss.

Also, in California now, I believe the one-in-the-chamber indicator is a requirement for any conceal and carry weapon.

  • Great vid! Thanks for posting. But I don't think a 9 round magazine exists. (I wish it did, so if you could tell me where to get it please lemme know, but I don't think it exists.)

  • @bronzescreen I called taurus and they stated that they will not offer a 9round magazine, which i think is ridiculas!

  • uhhhmmm

  • This is just my take on both the Pt-840 and Pt-709 ...I have purchased 2 different Taurus Pistoles The Pt-709 and the Pt-840 both New I then took both to the range and fired 300 rnds of .40 and 300 rnds of 9 (WITHOUT CLEANING) THE FACT GREASE Both Functioned Properly 100% And I still have not cleaned them BECUSE Im looking to see how many rnds i cn put through them befor they maulfuntion...

    Thank you

    Clayton758

  • sounds like your grip is the real problem, ive never had this problem before and i;ve shot mine more than the normal person and carry it daily as a ccw, maybe you should try a glock or somthing with a wider handel.

  • my mom just bought one of these about 3 months ago its sweet! the only thing i dont like about the gun is if u double hand it ( put thumb behind the blowback) it cuts ur thumb... she did that twice!!!!

  • @TwoTheHax Its funny you mention that, I bought one for my GF & we took it to the range today and we both got a slide bite. Did yours ever double feed on you? Hers did once and it failed to eject the spent round once other than that its a pretty decent carry pistol.

  • @TheWayItHappens No... My mom is a blonde all I remember is that she was looking at me and said dont hold it like this and she pulled the trigger... After that I was like WOW you really need to keep a look at your gun!

  • @TheWayItHappens Look up the term "limp wrist firing/shooting" That might be the cause of ejection failure or double feeds.

  • Suggest you do an actual breakdown...hard for some folks to get this done. Also please talk about COST...MSRP vs what we should expect to pay in the real world, readily available?

Thanks, good sound and picture on your video.

  • @adjohns1 thanks and i will do a break down review the the taurus PT 709 in a few days! thanks for watching

  • I bought mine about a month ago and I love I'm geting the same gun but chamberd in the .40S/W which will be my Primary Carry Gun. Good video BTW...

  • @clayton758 the 40cal is a peppy pistol, i'm sure it will serve you well

  • Mine is 100% reliable but shoots about two feet low off the bench at 25 yards-?

  • @ITSMETHEFLASH

thats a bit odd, cant see why or how its doing that from the bench position, I had a buddy of mine say him was shooting 2" to the left on him, but you can sight it in which is a plus.

  • having diffuclty taking apart..seems not to work for us. PM me please?

  • you have to pull down on the slide release and pull the slide back about 1/4 a inch and then pull the trigger and slide it forward. its similar to a glock.

  • 480p is not HD...

  • its higher definition, were talking guns here not HD...

  • I have thie pistal but have not had a chance to use it. It came highly recommended

  • Is that your carry pistol (im assuming that you live in a state that allows it) ?

  • How is the finish holding up on your gun? I've heard some not so great things about Taurus' blue finishes, but I really like this gun and would prefer the blue finish for concealability.

  • i shot this last week, my friend bought it for his wife to CC. it is a small/slim 9mm and great gun. i CC a Kimber Classic .45 but i would CC this gun. it shots well and will shoot any ammo mixed/matched you put in it

  • I love Taurus.

  • I am thinking about purchasing a Taurus 709 Slim. What can I expect to pay for it.

  • Can you contrast the Taurus PT 709 and the Ruger SR9C for me? I have a Ruger PT series and love it but looking for something smaller for carrying. Thanks!

  • highnoon . com has holsters that are made to fit

  • Is anyone experiencing a hard trigger pull when it's in the SA mode? The trigger take up on the one I have goes almost to the frame and then it's very stiff and hard to hold a target. I don't think this is normal or owners would be complaining. This actually makes my finger sore by the time I've shot a couple of magazines.

  • has anyone know where to get the bigger clips at? what holster is everyone useing?

  • @cesaw7

They are called magazines not clips. Clips are used to load magazines. Magazines are used to load rounds into the chamber of a weapon.

  • I'm tossed up between this and a pt145 for a first firearm. 9mm is so much cheaper to shoot right now and easy to find .. hmm, this would be easier to CC as well.

  • i belive i would go with a 9mm to start, that is where you will get the basics of handeling a firearm and learn to shoot accurately with it. Also 9mm ammos is sold at walmart and everwhere for half the price of 45. ammo

  • was that live ammo

  • That was indeed live ammo being show with the pistol.

  • good luck hitting anything past 20 feet with that keltec, from my past 2 keltecs they were not accurate and totally trash guns

  • @Ruffpuppys yeah keltec is a brand i would never own or trust. I could be wrong but i believe keltec makes airplanes or something as what they primarily do and making firearms is just a side thing for more money, i want a company that just makes guns

  • Kel-tec only does firearms.

  • @TheDanstheman3453

Hello My boss has a Kel Tek and he loves it. Its really a great gun and very relieable That is what he has told me anyway he has had his for a few yrs.

Or you may look on You Tube for NUTNFANCY he did a review on the Kel Tek he is very honest and he is active Millitary (20+YRS )and law Enforcement. GREAT GUY

  • i decided to get a kel tec pf9 its a little bit thinner .88 in

  • I've got both a full-sized XD-9 and a PT709. There's not much of a difference when you hold one in each hand and compare weight when they're loaded. The difference is really in the width and length. The PT709 is a great weapon for concealment, not weight or high capacity.

  • thanks for the review, I'm looking to buy this gun.

  • You say "as well" a lot. Good review though. I'm considering this gun as well.

  • I do as well.

  • Fuck everyone who thinks this is a bad gun. You're all a bunch of idiots. Get one and then you will see how nice this is.

  • @modap3000 here's a thought, stop spamming every 709 video.

  • nice review. I almost bought one after seeing it in a gun shop!! holy crap it's skinny!

its kinda a generally good idea to clean factory grease off a new gun. they seem to slop it on to prevent rust but it always ends up being too much and too thick.

  • good review

  • hey just bought my 709 took out of the box with amazing accuracy out of 250 round so far no hiccups love this gun. i have a bersa thunder 380 and with the extra firepower and even lighter and slimer great gun all around

  • Nice review on that one! My girlfriend just bought one and she's getting it on Tuesday and is totally excited about it too! Looks like you don't need a key for takedown which is why we didn't go with the PK380. I'm glad you mentioned the grease! I don't think we would have known about it!

  • Great review. Quick, lighting was good and you can understand what your saying. Alot of reviews have people you cant understand. Nice gun.

  • Buddy, that's a good review. My 709's in the mail. I'll probably watch this about 12 times a day until it gets here.

  • where did u find a 9+1 mag i been looking for one but cant find it i would love to have 2 rds added i just bought this gun in stainless steel

  • This is an excellent review! I need to get out of Kalifornia because this badboy is not on the DOJ extortion... I mean safe handgun roster list. On top of that, you may be aware of the elitist policy of CCW issuance.

  • Hey, I'm unsure if California has these avalable for purchase, due to gun control laws..California is one of those firearm unfriendly states!

  • Do you know if this Tauras PT709 is avaible

in California yet? Really want to buy it for my other guns collection !!

  • man my gun shop has this one in stainless on sale for $279,and a bi-tone ruger sr9 for $399.99.guys dont freak out my shop is known for having best prices in the city.btw will be buying both lol

  • mind me asking how much ya forked out for it??

  • I paid i belive 359.99

  • very nice dimensions on that grip, after you cleaned that grease out, did it cycle the rounds well?

  • I bought the taurus my very first gun for home protection. Went to the range because id never shot before n i'd have to say now that im addicted to it .. very happy with my purchase n tryin to find a league in my area

  • Excellent choice for a first gun, you've got a good solid quality pistol that will definatly protect you as long as you keep shooting once or twice a month to keep those shooting skills up

  • I actually read it was only .88 inches not 1.04 inches. It is definitely slimmer than 1 inch. Also the kel-tec pf9 is a great reliable pistol for only $270.00 but it does not have the single action trigger like this taurus or other larger semi auto pistols. Nor does it have second strike capability however it is considerably cheaper than the taurus if you have a tighter budget. Both are fantastic guns

  • I just bought this gun, fired 100 rounds after taking it out of the box-FLAWLESS and smooth. Lifetime warranty, feels good, light weight and I like the look and feel. Considered the Glock but the shop seller (handles all brands) highly recommended it (even over the Glock) so I went for it. VERY glad I did now. So light weight and slim you don't think about it when it's in the holster. Not as much recoil as I expected actually. Highly recommend this 9MM, very pleased.

  • i also bought a small frame houge rubber grip and it is even better control!

  • I agree. I have handled a few of these at gun shows and shops in the last couple weeks. I was looking at the Kahr PM9 and Walther PPS. They just cost way too much. The Taurus seems to handle very well, is slim, looks pretty sharp - and I love the frame safety and DAO Striker-fired operation.

Make sure you mention the second-strike capability! For a lot of people this may be a selling point. I think I may have found a deep concealment/pocket gun at last for a more than reasonable price.

  • The old additive, my friend. You get what you pay for..

  • It's not always true in the gun industry nowadays. I'm in the gunsmithing field, and I have been inside and worked with all sorts of guns. Even some of the higher end stuff is lacking in QC out of the box. Now when it comes to custom work, I will agree with your statement. But for out-of-the-box firearms, there are bargains and ripoffs across the board with rifles, handguns and shotguns.

I hope Taurus is able to make this one work. I've seen both horrors and good weapons from that mfgr.

  • Your right about some of the higher end stuff lacking adequate quality control. I have an $800 paperweight to prove it (the Kahr PM40). But I still don't understand people buying bargain guns like Kel-tec and then complain when they experience problems. The thing about Taurus is I don't know where to place them, some are good and some are bad. their street rep is still a little shaky, I too hope this one raises the bar. the 709s very comfortable & concealable

  • I just found a Stainless 709 for $349 and put it on layaway this past weekend until birthday funds come in.

Taurus has a lifetime warranty on this gun so I'm not worried about problems. Also I'm in gunsmithing school, so I've got resources and tools to fix problems if I'm so inclined to do it myself. Excited to get it paid off and take it home!

  • Nu: I disagree,,,the keltec 9mm is an excellent weapon (finish sucks/older version) but has never jammed. Not once. Is not cheap either. 300.00 plus. Great reliable belly gun. Too many people forget that anything over 15 feet away is unlikely and likely to get you in a legal jam if in a shootout. (so I have been told) Peace

  • I'd be interested to see this compared to the Kel-Tec PF9. These two seem to be your best options in a single stack, sub-compact 9mm, unless you want to shell out twice as much for a Kahr. However, there are a lot of nice .380 options out there now a days as well. Decisions, decisions.

  • Thanks for the review. Does anyone know how good the blue finish is compared to glock or xd? (just wandering cuz I like black, but do not want it to get scratch up) thnx again.............

  • hey thanks for looking, the blue finish is the same finish on the glock..its tough as nails and will last a long time

  • Got mine a couple days ago, shot 100 rounds through it yesterday and didnt have any problems. great little gun!

  • I love mine, paid about $375 at Adventure outdoors in Atlanta.. it's definitely what I was looking for..... I also do leather crafting..... and made a horizontal holster so it runs parallel with my belt..... just to the left of my buckle ... can't feel it...carry it cocked and locked...It's strapped on right now...nice thumb safety.. shoots great, no problems love it, in my opionion the best compact 9mm out there...the slide is about 9/10 of an inch thick...

  • I'm really liking this one, but I'm left handed. No ambidex. safety or ability to convert for lefty use?

  • was the 375, out the door????

  • Thanks for watching! I paid $375 out the door total! Excellent price for all the features, quality and accuracy

  • thats a excellent price out here in california the lowest ive seen is $460

  • Yes $375 was a great price!, I think $350-450 is about a decent sales price for what your getting!! check out the range report i did with it, excellent firearm!

  • how much did you pay for the gun? and you should post another review about how it shoots once you get it out to the range. im really interested in the gun and cant find many good reviews
