We have a combination here of something Greece doesn't usually send and a presentation that needs serious work, and people don't quite know how to treat it and don't bet on it much because it's hard to predict - no previous history with this type of entry. But you can't make conclusions out of it.

i follow eurovision passionately as a fan and i have also worked for a time for it..i know very well what the betting odds mean and what not. It is true that some times entries which were on top of the betting lists have failed to score well, but the other way round, that an entry was under the top 15, and then scored well happened practically only once, that was back in 2006 with lordi, but this was a really extraordinary case. people do not bet on greece, because it is a bad entry

@lemonnis To be fair, when it comes to Nikolas - I agree he was good, but he never really wanted to stay and work as a musician in Greece. Finishing second, I'm sure he could have gotten a record deal even without winning and he still chose to go to where his heart is, and try it out in the US. So in retrospective I don't think he deserved to win. I think that wanting to make music IN GREECE is a basic requirement.
