  • DDDAAAAMMMMNNN!!!!!!!

  • LMFAO hey lets get a smart car....hahah might as well buy a plot in the ground as well.

  • @Gtbomb1 did you not watch this? The passenger cage is good. I don't own one, not likely too either, but the passenger cell is clearly very protective.

  • "Also, the SMART isn't meant for you then. The SMART is more intended to people with the minimalist mind set."

    Pretentious, much?

  • That little deathtrap turns into a pinball in real-world accidents.Scary.

  • "...some intrusion into the foot well..."

    hahahha

  • Now, all you have to do is making a human body super heavy duty.

  • It's is funny how they still thought it was a safe care.

  • It's a bit smaller than a suit of armor...

  • Going..going..going... 2:19 - dead, car and people.

  • actually its fifth gear not top gear

  • ..and i was planning on getting one of these for my birthday.

    never mind.

    :/

    :(

  • @GoldenGabriella idiot

  • it would be funny if the window wipers were still going

  • What show is this off of?

  • @cole199 are you sure it's Topgear? Because if it was, you would think the narrator woul one of the three of the guys.

  • @Jon13bur It's not Topgear. It's ITV's rival programme "5th Gear". Tiff Needle, presenting, was one of the original Topgear presenters in the 70s/80s with Raymond Baxter.

  • @cole199 Isn't this fifth gear?

  • @cole199 no its not. its fifth gear off channel 5

  • @cole199 Fifth Gear, not Top Gear

  • @cole199 It is fifth gear....

  • @cole199 this isn't top gear....

  • this is fifth gear.

  • @Jon13bur No this is Fifth Gear not Top gear

  • @Jon13bur I think fifth gear

  • @Jon13bur 5th gear

  • @Jon13bur Idiot.... this is FIFTH GEAR!

  • @Jon13bur

    Fifth Gear

  • ive seen how trucks do in crash tests. and ive also seen a truck total a car and driving away with a bent bumper.

  • americans dont drive that shit because they dont want to. obama and his socialist asshole cabinet are getting into bed with al gore and cramming this global warming bullshit agenda down our throats. only in the past few years has america been forced to cope with better gas mileage. our dumbass president is too stupid to drill for oil here in our own country. but hey, since he is a towelhead muslim himself, it makes it ok

  • @Blizzard460

You said yourself, "the past few years."

How long has Obama been President? The finger of blame for the status quo is twitching towards the previous occupier. These things don't happen overnight, you know.

Probably not what you wanted to hear.

  • @pf126p you are correct. It started with Clinton not taking a stand to the arabs. The arabs continued to attack us and get more brave and brave until 9/11. Then, they launched another plan. Hit us in our weak spot. They figured that we were too stupid to drill in our own country. Which we are(Obama, Gore, Bush, ect.) However, the high gas prices helped them get their man into office. They know, not figure, know that if they hit us with obama, wi=e will not retalliate. They can hit us with oil $

  • id rather drive a 1970 chevelle ss 454 that gets 6 mpg than that piece of shit

  • i dont care how safe it is....this car has no sex appeal...-_-

  • @dredlocksoldier1 haha. Who ants a car with sex appeal? People who aren't getting actual sex I reckon... :)

  • this car also not practical to have in california where im from. it's takes forever to go from zero to 60 which makes it dangerous to drive in the freeways. it's gets horrible gas mileage for a car that tiny and if you actually watched this video this car isnt safe at all.

    p.s.

i like my cars looking good like my women you fuckin troll...

  • oh you're american. Explains all. My bad.

  • if that was meant to be insulting then you're as ignorant as how Americans stereotypically are.

  • @dredlocksoldier1,

"takes forever to go from zero to 60 ... horrible gas mileage"

You realise you've just described a minivan or SUV. Isn't that what most Americans drive?

  • uhh nope...

  • @dredlocksoldier1 On the contrary. A man who drives a flea on wheels is a secure man.

(Unless you're talking about its lack of a back seat, then yes, I agree with you.)

  • Look at the Subaru Tribeca 2009! That is a safe care !!!!

  • How can people say this car is safe, when you look at the crash, the entire steering column is jammed up to the drivers' chest. Even if the crash doesnt kill the person, the several broken ribs will probably puncture the lungs with the massive impact.

Smart Cars even though rated safe, it is not safe at all.

  • Well, good thing the car now has a collapsible steering column that retracts into the dashboard when needed.

Smart Cars ARE safe, it's just people hate the car for no reason.

  • its about time mercedes made a steering column that is sade. People hate it because smart cars are ugly and its not very efficient.

Its very small and not enough storage space. And not convienient when you want to access different location that requires the use of freeways. When it comes to crahses, i prefer sitting in a big car; at least my car wont get tilted over or have the psychological fear of getting killed while you are in the car.

  • Well I personally don't prefer the big ass tank gas guzzler of a Hummer (BTW, big cars have a higher tenancy to tip over.)

Also, the SMART isn't meant for you then. The SMART is more intended to people with the minimalist mind set. They aren't ugly, they look no different from a VW Beetle.

Well hey, at least you admitted you were bagging on the car because you just hate it. I personally like it.

Then again, to each their own, eh?

  • your opinion is yours, and my opinion is mine. What i mean by big cars are cars that are bigger than at least a smart. I dont mean big ass cars like Hummer. Hummer is utter useless, fuel inefficient and jsut very useless.

    To each their own.

  • @BlueKewne Okay I was totally following you, until the Beetle part. Are you umm, blind sir? Four headlights vs two headlights. One vs Four times its size. A curve to the back end vs a total drop off. I mean, not to dig on you but whoa. And I hate them too, btw. But not the point! Lol.

  • @BlueKewne A vw beetle looks WAYYY better then this, also people RESPECT you if you drive a beetle where i live if you drive one of these you are hated slightly less then a prius driver But only by a hair.

  • That's what you call a false sense of security. Why don't you actually CHECK the NHTSA for crash tests of those larger cars in which you feel so safe? Why don't you check out the pickups and see just how well they perform in a crash before you speculate that bigger simply must be safer? See they collapse from the inside out. See how the bed breaches the cabin. Inform yourself from the source and only then come back and tell us how safe you really feel. And I'm not even talking about rollovers.

  • Almost every car is safe nowadays, it´s just people that are not

  • Agreed.

  • wat a waste of cars..

they cuddve just given it to me

  • if it went from 70-0 in one second then the pasangers would experince 191g of force. Sounds like a bad day.

  • @kcaz1900kcaz nice physics, im failing my class..

  • the driver would have been screwd at 0:35

  • I can't imagine the state of my feets after crash in smart !

  • sorry but i wouldnt trust this car in a little fender bender at 5mph

  • Did you not just watch this video? Did you not just watch the damn thing slam into a cement divider at 70MPH, did you NOT see the passenger compartment nearly unscratched?

  • bluekewne its obvious the passenger side hasd no damage. If you werent watching clearly, the car was purposely crashed on the driver's side. Did you not see the controller crashed the car at an angle?

Second, the driver would have died anyway even if the passengers didnt. The entire steering wheel is jammed up to the driver's chest which will break ribs and puncture the lungs.

  • It's not the steering column that's the killer here. It's the force of deceleration to naught in the blink of an eye that would rupture your organs.

  • @pf126p

well asssuming you survived the deceleration, the steering column will kill you.

    Some people do survive.

  • I'd have been more impressed if these tests had crash dummies.

  • Typical...no one would have lived...but at least the car fared well!

  • typical... try that in your car, see how you do

  • it is still about the same size. not like it had a lot of size to start with
