Great skateboarding, wasn't about being cool or having to always land everything on camera, all about the fun, that's what skateboarding has always been about.
come on! the first 2000's was pretty good too.. i skate since 2003.. and i still got the sporit of fun and lifestylish skateboarding.. i dont give a fuck! =)actualy i skateing without a tail.. =) its still can ride right? =)
Yup dope, REAL, solid soul skateboarding for sure. 90's were indeed the golden age of skateboarding everytime i go skate i try to keep it real like this and zone out all the drones with tight pants
The early nintys were such great years style wise. Newer street skating was starting to come around. yet it still retained some eightys old school flair.
the 90s rocked....skating has changed so much. kids dont sk8 for fun anymore....it all has to be on camera or they wont risk getting hurt and that isnt what skating is about. if youre not having fun then you should just quit, sponsers dont meen shit if its not fun
Being from the 90's myself, I can say that everything you said is the truth. It's a shame that you can't see a fellow skater these days wave, and ask where they're headed. I used to be able to do that in San Francisco where I'm from. Now and days you hey what's up, and you get weird looks and people staring you down like your crazy. I have a story about that if anyone wants to hear it.
Here it goes...I moved to San Diego in 2000, (never going there again) a friend of mine who lived in the same apartment complex wanted to go skating. We headed out into the streets looking for somewhere to skate. Some random skater was bombing this hill we were on. So I waved the guy down and said, "Hey man what's up, I'm new in town and I wanted to ask you if you knew of any cool spots to skate." The guy backs off, tells me to put my board down and back away....
...and want to know where all the good spots are. The guy looks at me like Im from another planet, then says, Look for yourself. Then he skated away. I kind of wish you were there to see it man, it felt so strange. I felt like an alien in my own home. I came to realize that people (skaters in general) in S.D. arent that social. Theyre just simply another breed of human. Im so glad Im back in Northern California.
Yeah Im from Northern California myself, much more nicer skaters who dont care what you look like or what your about, they just wanna skate and have fun!
@RandomHero486 If you're ever in NY, then don't skate downstate. Make sure you skate upstate. I watched downstate get torn up by companies that industrialized skating, Zumiez, and skateparks that charge $20 each time you go for a 5 hr session
@m180322 $20 for 5 hours?! I don't know how much that is in pounds(£) but we had this massive park, search ''newport skatepark wales'' or ''skate extreme wales'' and that was about £8 or £6 to get in for atleast 6-8 hours.
How about you? Got any good skate stories? By the way, I have even a better story than this one and it involves Mike Carrell. I mean THE Mike Carrell of Girl Skateboards. Take it easy man.
iv got plenty of stories man, iv been bashed for skating ppls properties, iv been punched by police and iv had my board thrown on a roofs b4, iv been through alot of b/s skating.
i know what you meen about ppl being cunts, i remember when id see a skater around town and i just had to go meet the guy, we always got along, it use to be "stick up for you fellow skaters" but those days are gone, just like you said, you cant even talk to some of these kids anymore.

No one skates like this anymore :(
I miss being able to tell different skaters apart just by how they skated.
I would have to say skateboarding's true Golden Age was 1990-2005.
I was lucky enough to really be into it from 2000-05
