Surah 3:54 says in Arabic Wamakarro wamakara Allahu waAllahu khayru almakireena which is correctly translated as: And they deceived and Allah deceived , and Allah (is) the best (of) the deceivers.

You can compare this with surah 31:33 (O mankind! Be afraid of your Lord, .. let not then this (worldly) present life deceive you, nor let the chief deceiver (Satan) deceive you about Allah) and see that Allah is Satan as both are the chief deceivers.
