  • This video is popular on Apia

  • Your video went viral on Qatar

  • jesss we almost lossed that game lol

  • Greetings from England. God bless the US Navy

  • I was at this game.... Close one for sure.. Go Bucks!!! Check out my youtube channel for my heavy cover of hang on sloopy

  • Well done, OSU !

You typify middle America - all class and always patriotic.

Middle America saved the Republic in Nov 2010. We will need you again

on Nov 6, 2012 when we TAKE BACK AMERICA from the leftist marxists.

    Thank you !!!

  • youtube(dot)com/watch?v=khhjA92jytk

  • Loved this video! Our military academies and armed forces deserve nothing but respect! These fine young men and women are the protectors of our beloved country!

  • that is right go navy beat armyy

  • This youtube video has my cheers and I honor the freedom fighters. This is another video another add to my list of favorites.

  • thats what im talking about! great display there man keep the videos coming and by the way buckeye fans are team is not very good this year

  • cant wait for OSU to be at the Browns stadium

  • Dear vikingluv7. You sound to me like a rather simple minded idiot that should probably not be allowed in public, much less, allowed to speak to anyone. Keep your opinions to yourself, especially when throwing out generalized slams to those whom you don't know. I'm afraid that with your feeble mind, I'm not speaking mono-syllabic-ally enough for you.

  • I applaud this... pretty awesome.

  • as an ohio state fan, i HATE scUM. however, if it means bringing speed and consequently success and winning to the big ten, then michigan and rich rod need to succeed and beat tOSU a couple times so that the school can FINALLY take a hint. big ten power is over. sec speed is winning. the spread is the key to success and jim tressel, as well as tOSU is avoiding the fact. hire a new o-line coach, hire an offensive coordinator, tress, and stop being so damn predictable on both sides of the ball!!!!

  • Hey I just gotta say,

All the Mids that were in Ohio for this were just stunned at the hospitality, friendliness and respect that OSU had for us, so thank you for the best damned college football experience I've ever had! Since we already played you, ;) I'll be rooting for OSU the rest of the season! CRUSH USC!!!!!!!

  • I applaud OSU and its fans for showing their support for Navy. Truly, the Midshipmen deserve the admiration of us all.

That being said, we Irish fans give them a standing ovation every time we play them and our team stands with them as their song is played at the end of the game.

I'm not trying to turn this into a pissing contest, just pointing out that showing respect for this and all opponents should not be a new concept.

  • Semper Fi Marines!!!!!

  • i do not care im a buckeye fan and do not rip other teams. however usc does it and all the sec fans do it so give it a rest. this was showing a simple repsect to our armed forces. the ones that give you the right to watch these games and judge these teams! so stop with this whiny ass bull shit and see that we are representing and supporting the navy when they came to play!

  • here is from a um fan, that was cool. and all you ripping the bucks and big ten stfu. a win is a win. no points for style. go bucks beat those usc asses. and go blue

  • Thank you to all that serve this great Country of ours. Stay safe and God Bless.

Having both teams take the field at the same time was a dignified gesture (apparently the first time in Buckeye football history), but it pales in comparison to the commitment made by all of our men and women that serve.

    Go Bucks!

  • Yet another example of the class that Coach Tressel exudes. He, in my opinion, is hero worthy. What a classy gesture.

  • Yeah well...hows that record lately?

  • Comment removed

  • this video is great 307,000 views! this shows america that we respect those who serve our country and im glad navy did good today.

  • It is refreshing to see respect for our men and women who serve or country. I tip my hat to Ohio State and their integrety. I was at a Eastern and Navy Game and was very embaraced at the way that school acted. GREAT JOB OHIO ON the WIN :)

  • THIS GAME WAS AWESOME!! i was there it was soo cool to be a part of it and the navy and all the alumni band there, instead of one big OHIO they made 4

  • Mutual respect was exhibited repeatedly on both sides. It was amazing to watch. Despite the loss, Navy and their coaching staff hustled down to the South end of the Shoe, where they stood silently, beside the OSU players and staff, while OSU sang their Alma Mater. Cadets could be seen all over campus area, enjoying the hospitality of C-bus residents. What a great time!

  • I hope Navy has a great season the rest of the way.

  • I hope USC is spiking the gatorade with a dose of 'roids.

  • Almost Getting Shocked

    Huh Buckeyes?

  • Thats what its all about ain't it.

  • Uhh remember 2002??? WHO WON?????

  • yeah i do good game

im not hating no need to be a smart ass

my two bff are osu fans i was rooting for them

im jst saying almost got beat

    thats all nothing else

  • alright then just checkin... sorry

  • hey were all human

    we make mistakes

  • Your pretty cool

  • hah

  • yeah!

  • how is it a shock when you have a close game against a decent navy team? That triple option is no joke. Dont worry in 2 years theres a home/away with the canes :D

  • cause i thought osu was gonna be super good this year

    quit being a smartass

    who cares

    yeah i knoww

  • Yo Miami great game the other day against my Noles. We almost had you guys beat. Maybe the Miami and FSU of old has been renewed. Good luck the rest of the season.

  • haha yeah i think its back

    thanks same to you

  • AWESOME!

  • Ohio state is going to get demolished next week against Usc. too bad navy couldnt pull out the victory today.

  • You do realize Navy is actally a good team who led the entire nation in rushing last season. OSU was up by a significant margin but looked like they let up towards the end. This is College Football where anything can happen. OSU is a good team and found a way to win at the end. Its gonna be a brawl when USC comes to the "Horseshoe" and USC has problems at times with mobile QB's so look out for Pryor. OSU will give USC a fight next week.

  • Yes i know navy lead the nation in rushing but their athletes are no where near the caliber of Ohio states players, and definatly not on Usc's level. Osu fans always make a ton of excuses for when their team does bad but yet are quick to rip on other teams when they struggle. Usc 31- Osu 10

  • OSU aren't Gods. Ya'll act like they gotta destroy every single team put in front of them especially lower tier teams. Navy showed up to play they have a right to.

  • Ohio state fans are the first ones to jump on other top teams that struggle against lower competition, they just dont want to hear it when their team struggles.

  • Yea some fans don't want to admit when their team struggles and make excuses. The 2006 NC game was a perfect example. I'm not gonna lie but Florida came ready to play and was on fire. They were determined.

  • Shut up you stupid Lions fan!! 0-16 hahahaha! YOU SUCK GET A JOB!!!

  • Lions will get better.

al least 3,4 mabey even 5 wins.

    Go Lions.

  • The lions record has nothing to do with Osu struggling against navy. Im very aware that the lions were terrible last year, but im not a fair weather fan.

  • Ok but you talk about teams that i like so im gonna talk about how bad your Detroit Lions were last year, you say Ohio State has an excuse for every time they lose, how many excuses did Daunte Culpeper have being the Lions starting QB? I think fair weather is one

  • Did they do it?

  • yes, the entire stadium rose and cheered for the Navy team as they arrived

  • why is ohio state's offensive line so awful? they are letting dline 40 lbs smaller run over them. good luck with another blowout and national embarrassment next week against USC

  • Navy just successfully used the option to score on us... I'm worried

  • Too bad the buckeyes cant put education first!!!!

  • Another jackaboo - take a look at the OSU academic statistics and then post you idiot. I can only imagine the gene pool you came from.

  • Comment removed

  • no i just really like the MArines and the Marines are part of the navy they play too

  • Great Video even though i am a Buckeye fan NAVY will WIN!!!!

    OORAH

    Semper Fi

  • sucks that navy lost... lol

  • this will be a great football game as well of a unity of respect..

  • HOW ABOUT

We cheer for EVERY team that comes to OSU? How about we don't boo ANYBODY? I like that plan better.

  • except for Michigan.

  • Awesome!!!!

  • Not enough words to thank our men and women for their service. I say go Bucks! But God Bless the servicemen and women in the Navy.

  • Classy! Shows that Buckeyes know there is "something more important than football" --> "... service to country." My Dad will be driving 6 hours to join me for his first OSU football game even though I've worked here 13 years and been a season ticket holder for 9 of those. He's a retired Lt. Cmdr. from the Navy and I was born at the Navy base hospital near Chicago. So I guess I'll wear my Scarlet (because that's where my heart is) but I'll wear a Navy cap (because my mind is on NAVY). ;-)

  • Excellent idea and an outstanding way to display respect and pride for those who chose to serve.

    Commander

    USNR-Retired

  • I hope all schools adopt this! I am a die hard WVU fan and I salute OHIO STATE! What a truly amazing thing to do.

  • This is a great and I mean GREAT Video I'm a die hard Buckeye Fan, However i'm an even bigger fan of the men and women who fight for our freedom Thank you all... Go Bucks

  • This will get everyone pumped up for Saturday!!!!! Go Bucks!!!!

  • This is an awesome call for a great reason given in a great video!

As Navy Veteran - thank you!

  • Thanks OSU from an Ohio-born and raised Navy grad! I graduated from Navy in 1996 and my brother graduated from Ohio State in 2001.....don't know who my parents are going to cheer for!?!? Either way, our family wins :)

  • I hope the Bucks fans do cheer them. Cheer them loudly, but after the opening kickoff, they're just another opponent. GO BUCKS!!!!

  • West Point is rated #1 on Forbes best colleges of 2009. Academically, West Point and Annapolis trump Ivy League Colleges. Knowledge is power.

  • veryy good

  • Seriously just destroy their morale. It is an utterly worthless Academy. Go Army! Beat Navy!

  • I volunteer to lead 14A in the cheer. OSU class of '84

  • @cliedl - He's referring to standing up and screaming loud for Navy (despite them being the "away" team)... Most other schools have *not* done that...

I hope this tradition catches on... Thank you, Buckeyes!

~S~ ( Navy brat and sister of a Navy '94)

  • Hell ya!

    GO BUCKS!

  • One more reason why I love OH...IO!

  • My first reaction to this as a Navy grad and veteran is, that's really classy of OSU. My second reaction is, wait - we're playing OSU??? We're gonna get our asses kicked! lol Go navy!

  • lol. i hope we do cheer on saturday. as an ohio state fan and an american, i would love to see 105,000 people cheer our military

  • Great Job BUCKEYES go navy longhorns #1

  • A Class Act! Thank you, Buckeyes, from a USNA '65 grad and his "drag" for the past 44 years.

  • As a florida gator this is one of the most humbling videos I have ever watched regarding college football! Im proud to say that as well! Thanks for showing true heart OSU

  • All of you negative Notre Dame fans need to get off your high horse. Ohio State is not taking credit for honoring the Navy team at all. Its simply reminding Buckeye fans and fans alike to remember that while it is still a competition, who these men are and what they stand for, for our country. Its just petty to complain over who honored first or better. Chill out!

I love the Buckeyes and I love the service teams.

    GO BUCKS!

  • As a Naval Officer and Ohio State Alumni, this is testament to the class of the Buckeye Nation!

  • Just four more days and counting!

  • As a born-and-bred buckeye and a Naval Academy grad who is planning on attending Saturday's game, I'm proud to see OSU showing respect to the Navy contingent. The horseshoe is a tough place to play. It's an even tougher place to cheer for an opposing team. Thanks OSU. I look forward to a classy, hard-fought game.

  • "We hope this tradition starts at Ohio State and spreads to other schools"-- while I can't fault the sentiment, you're a little late to the party. Notre Dame and Navy have been playing since 1927 in a rivalry that has always been marked by mutual respect, no matter what pundits might say about the 'weakness' of ND's schedule.

  • They're referring to other schools that play Navy, shockingly believe it or not Navy does play other schools outside of ND, Air Force, and Army.

  • yeah but Notre Dame has been irrelevent in the last 10 years so nobody has been paying attention to their games..

just kidding.. still a class program

  • i heard Octomom is dotting the I this coming saturday. gonna be awesome !!

  • A nice video and a great idea as well!

I'm one Buckeye fan that would like to see all of our visiting teams applauded when the come out of the tunnel and onto the field. It shows class...

Then, after the formalities have been dispensed with, let the carnage begin...

  • I think it'd be a cool gesture for any non conference opponents, sort of a welcome and then conference games would be all business and no welcomes haha.

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks OSU for bringing a tear to this old vets eye. Great idea and I too hope it catches on! Go Buckeys! Go Navy!

As of you brezzy69, if you did have balls men and women like these wouldn't of had to save your ass twice last century!

    Go Navy! Beat Army!

  • rugby sucks ass if those guys were have as good or half as bad they would be playing football in america you take the best rugby player and the best NFL players and have a game of fag rugby your euro trash would be dominated they were pads and people still get concussions they get paid millions to bust heads and who the hell watches rugby ohio state stadium hold 100,000 people the viewers of the super bowl r around 45 million so shut up and keep wishing you had the tradition we do

  • I am a dyed-in-the-wool UofM fan, so I don't care much for Ohio football, but I have to say Ohio State, YOU have Class beyond words!!! I am also a Navy vet. I'll start cheering for Ohio State because of this (except when you play my Wolverines!)

    BRAVO ZULU OHIO STATE!!!

  • God Bless "The OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY". I grew up just 70 miles from the OSU campus. They were alway's the classiest school when it came to Sportsmanship. Good luck Navy,,,,,,gman

  • I'm so proud to say I'm an Ohio State fan with this. I was raised in a Navy family I'm proud to say my Ohio State is doing me proud as well.

  • Man, Im a Navy fan and Im glad OSU has enough class to do this, I hate it when our team gets booed then gets sent to fight for there freedom, Man i never really liked OSU cuz I live in the state up north but if this were U of M they would boo. Thanks Bucks and good luck for the rest of this season.

  • GO DOLPHINS! LOL

  • then see my video the beginning is a little disturbing but the rest is ok.

  • I'm a Longhorn fan, and after watching my beloved Horns whup the Buckeyes at the Fiesta Bowl last year, I was amazed to watch the class and poise demonstrated by the Ohio State players after the game. A few of Buckeyes joined up with a few Horns in a circle on the field, and all of them held hands and knelt down in prayer. Ohio State - you are the epitome of class and sportsmanship, and your school and your team will always have my respect. Still love my Horns, though! :)

  • they didnt whup the buckeyes, we just wasnt really ready yet , ya thats it, we wasnt ready, but now we are, so bring on Texas whenever u can!! lol

  • you wuznt ready, so you got whupped. dat's what happens when you aint ready.

  • Well I always go to Rutgers games (My mom went to Rutgers and THE Ohio State) and we almost always have Navy on our schedule. We always make sure we respect the Navy.

I can't see anybody booing Navy, but I am glad to see that OSU is being so curtious. My dad tells me to salute the Navy (the Navy in the white uniform) when I see them in the stadium... Just throwing that out there.

  • Very nice! Thanks OSU, you've just got a new fan... When you're not playing Navy of course!

  • CLASS!

  • Naval Academy Grad '88. Go Navy. Beat Army. Proud to have the opportunity for Navy to go to Thee Ohio State University and play against their legendary football program. Even happier to say I'll be there in person to watch it ... my first game in OSU's stadium! Thanks to the ultra-classy OSU fans for this video.

  • I think some credit has to be given to Notre Dame and Charlie Weis as well. A few years back ND started the tradition (since they play Navy every year) of going down to the Navy section of the stands and singing the Navy alma-mater with the Midshipmen. (Maybe its the Navy fight song..but the point is the same) EVERY team that plays any of our service academies should be doing something like this for these young heros who will soon defend our nation in battle.

  • Oh..and GO BUCKS!!!!

  • Our Navy and the other US Armed Forces insure our freedom to enjoy college football and other great American traditions...I can't thank them enough! Although I won't be in the stadium on Saturday, I will be on my feet when Navy takes the field and during the National Anthem...as will my wife and three young children. For any Buckeyes that will be in the stadium, please be sure to thank our uniformed servicemen and/or veterans by picking up their tab at the concession stand.

    Go Bucks!!

  • As a midshipen of the great class of 2011, and a former enlisted sailor, its really nice to see things like this. I want to say thanks to OSU and all of you who support us.

    Go Navy! Beat OSU!

  • Buckeye fans honor Navy. I can see the lead story on ESPN and Fox News. CNN will show protestors complaining about the military's on campus recruiting.

GO BUCKS - Class of 1993

  • I like what Ohio State is doing but "Go Blue!"

  • Go Bucks!

  • Very classy!

  • I don't have a problem booing your opponent, except in three cases - Army, Navy, and Air Force. These kids are going to be defending this country and are playing football as part of their educational requirement.

As a Penn State fan, I'll doff my cap to Buckeye fans for this great gesture.

  • I live in Michigan and I'm no Buckeye fan, but I have to give Ohio State and their fans props for this gesture. Well done!

My alma mater, the University of Utah, plays Air Force on October 24th and there has been discussion on our message board of "saluting" the AF team in the same manner. Here's hoping it happens.

    Again, well done.

  • to answer the question would they do it if Navy beat them. Yes!

  • Wow. Such a class act. Thank you, Buckeyes!!!

  • My son is also attending the Naval Academy...I will be at this game and am hoping that I will have the honor of witnessing a sight such as this. Thank you to all Buckeye fans who support our service members...GO NAVY !

  • I am a USNA parent, and now a fan of OSU (except for 9/5). I support the rights of everyone to voice their opinion. I also am proud that the Midshipmen are preparing to defend that right. They also defend the right of idiots like LLORT3 to voice his myopic views.

  • This brought tears.

My son was killed in action July 20th.

He was Army but this warmed my heart..

    Buckeyes should be very proud

    Den's Mom

  • This video is just another reason I'm proud to be a BUCKEYE!

  • I attended the Naval Academy and have been a life long fan of OSU...going to be a tough game to watch. This video is a class act by the Buckeyes...

  • Great idea. We as a nation owe more to these men and women than we could ever show. Go Navy, Army, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard.

  • Ah, tOSU. Always the classy school. That's why I love my hometown, and this year, I get to see the best of both worlds. My favorite school and my service's Academy going at it.

    AG3 NJE, USN

  • Great stuff!!! GO BUCKS!!!

  • Great tribute idea for a classy school. Must why they call themselves THE Ohio State University.

  • because that is THE name of The Ohio State University, it has been since the 1800's

  • Comment removed

  • Shows that OS is indeed a class act all the way. Thanks for saluating those in uniform.

  • I certainly hope we don't have any class-less clowns that decide to boo Navy when they come out of that tunnel. If you don't want to give them a standing ovation, then just sit in your seat quietly. Show Navy the level of class that OSU fans have. We are not like USC fans who chant "over-rated" at the other team. We have class.

  • Go BUCKS! and GO NAVY! :D

  • Appreciate the love.

  • O H !!!!!

  • The guys at Navy really appreciate this video. We've all watched it, and we are glad that their are still people out there who support us. We've gotten some pretty rude receptions at some stadiums (namely Rutgers), so we're appreciative of the class that you OSU fans are showing. We realize that we'll most likely get destroyed, but it should hopefully prove to be a fun competition nonetheless. Thanks again to all of you OSU fans for showing class.

  • Haha yeah Rutgers did do that. I go to Rutgers, i dont go to any games though and i heard what happened. shameful :\

  • The world famous Ohio State coach Woody Hayes served in the Navy.

  • My son is a Naval Academy Plebe , Class of 2013....thank you to OSU Buckeye's ...you get what's really important and have shown true sportsmanship.....and a lot of class. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Go Navy beat ARMY and good luck to OSU.

  • What an amazing idea.....and fab vid!

    Great job!

  • we really appreciate you guys. great video.

  • OVERRATED??? You Know what OVERRATED Stands for...JEALOUS FANS! A team is only called "overrated" when fans from another team are jealous because the BUCKEYES have a winning record year after year and OUR FANS ARE THE BEST IN THE LAND!

  • O H !!!

  • I O !!!!

  • I O !!!

  • TOSU shows class, many posters here don't as usual. This has nothing to do with the game and everything to do with being Americans, get a life. Nice job OSU, that is what makes me proud to be a Buckeye, not wins and losses. God Bless the USA!

  • Navy is a decent team, that's why I'm excited to watch this game on the 5th. If were not careful we could easily end up starting the season 0-2 :-/

  • Yep. And with Jim Bollman still coaching the O-line, and being the O.C., I say we're in trouble no matter what.

    Go Bucks!

    Fire Bollman!

  • Don't kid yourself, Tress calls each and every play, pay attention, he carries the plays right in front of him during the game.

  • unddan88, you also play Navy every year, smart ass..;)

  • This is why I love Ohio State tradition, pride, honor, and respect of country. God bless the military and all who serve and god bless OHIO

  • I'm fine with cheering for Navy when the enter the field, but OSU fans should not feel compelled to applaud Navy throughout the game. I doubt any players on Navy would want that.

  • I graduated from Ohio State and served in Iraq with the US Army while I do respect these young men I want to watch Ohio State stomp them.... I didnt like Cadidiots when I was in and I would laugh when they would say Army Navy is the biggest rivalry in sports... truth is most service men and women root for their home interests.... Ill cheer for a minute and thats it..... then its time to respect them by worrying about that option attack...

  • Good thing we don't fight for one minute...
